LA MESA, Calif. -- A La Mesa man is under arrest after police say they seized hundreds of child porn images from his home.

Steven Wesley Yates, 38, was arrested Wednesday afternoon, according to the La Mesa Police Department, after detectives served a search warrant at his home. Officials seized his computer and several CDs.

Those disks contained more than 1,750 pictures of minors, ranging in age from 6 months to 14 years old, engaged in sex acts with other minors and adults, police said.


The investigation by La Mesa police began in August when they were contacted by the Berkeley Police Department. Officers there said a child had allegedly been sent porn by Yates.

It's with great horror I hate to say this is becoming all too common. They busted that young guy who worked in Disneyland for looking for this exact same thing. We just read about two infants murdered and sexually assaulted last week. This is why we have to keep on writing to our Senators and anybody who will listen. If there's a demand for this kind of unfathomable pornography you can bet somebody, someplace will victimize an infant.

sometimes i think the world was FAR better off before we had computers and cheap videocams. actually..... i KNOW it was!

there were perverts before of course, but these 2 things in combination have made them multiply by unfathomable numbers it seems. if there is any hint of a tendency in a man's brain to be this way.. the easy availability of this technology (combined with the fact that poeple have WAY too much time on their hands these days)... seems to be like gasoline on a fire, and that has has made these addictions go out of control.

You may have a case here, in that these folks may think that their impulses are more acceptable if they can find a group of others that have a similar bent.

I cannot fathom the attraction to an infant and toddlers. I have heard all kinds of rationalizations for being attracted to children, but the deviance that comes with a sexual attraction to babies has to be something else entirely-they are virtually destroyed by the acts, physically anyways. It makes no sense to me that it is not about aggression...:twocents:
