Is this true or more smoke from Brodsky?!

Drew Peterson's attorney said Thomas Morphey's wife disappeared 10 years ago.

Dee found Janet Burbank listed for a protection order against Tom in 1993, IIRC. I haven't located anything in missing person reports under that name.

Not too sure on this. I did find an order of protection filed in the public records on 1-1-93 by a Janet M Burbank against Morphey. Apparently she's alive because I find a recent residential address in another Chicago suburb. IDK if she was his wife or a subsequent or prior girlfriend...

If Brodsky can make these kind of accusations or insinuations without proof, it certainly goes to HIS credibility...doesn't it?

They have already clocked him for lying about Tom's "past suicide attempts".

A little while ago I saw that someone had posted a question to Greta in her tip line box about this situation. Let's hope she's reading her blog today and checks it out and gives us an answer..

Maybe she went into hiding because she knew just what the Morphey/Peterson clan was capable of.....

I think Brodsky's credibility is in question anyhow, and that man sure has some cajones making statements about ANYONE's credibility.

Ooooh you have got to be kidding me! If his wife is missing then I think anyone that has EVER crossed DP's path in any way shape or form needs to immeditately join the witness protection program and go into hiding for the rest of their life.

FWIW, I was just over at gretawire and she's having her people check this out. Maybe we'll have further information on this by tonite.

Hopefully,

Brodsky doesn't need to back up any of his statements with fact..because that is not the job of the defense attorney. He can say whatever he pleases to try to get his client painted in the best possible light

Having said that..that does not mean he can't be sued for slander if he doesn't reign in his mouth soon.

He might be better off with Craig Stebic's divorce attorney. Boy, didn't he benefit from Drew Peterson!

He might be better off with Craig Stebic's divorce attorney. Boy, didn't he benefit from Drew Peterson! It wouldn't surprise me if the meeting last night he addressed on Greta was with CS's Attorney. So far, CS's Attorney has kept Craig out of jail and from being charged with anything! Altho...he could not keep the children from testifying to the GJ. If you think about it tho...who else better to call in on this case?! They are practicing law in the same area and have near the same case...except for Kathleen Savio's case.

I confess. When I heard that Brodsky said Tom's wife was missing, my first thought was "why, what did Drew P have against her?"

But knowing the source, I have my doubts that she is even missing. I hope the media follows up on this and tries to find her.

Brodsky revised and said she went missing ten to twelve years ago the other night on Greta.

I'm wondering why we haven't heard any more about Morphey and if he really has a missing wife.

I think the guy is being protected by LE. It makes me think the really did help move that blue barrel/container or whatever. It seems like he is a very important witness.......Mark F. needs to be on this. I suspect the missing wife thing is either not true or maybe she ran off for a few days years ago. I don't think it's anything at this point.

Reminds me of a movie I saw, Danny Devito and Billy Crystal were in it. They each had a long suffering family problem. They worked out a plan so that Devito would kill Billy's problem relative and Billy would kill Devitos long suffering irritating mother. Cannot remember the movie name for certain, was it 'Throw Mama From the Train', er something like that.

IF IF Morpheys wife disappeared 10 years ago ?, I just guess he kept his missing wife count down to just [1] one. Not like DP.

Brodsky makes normal TTT attorneys look like Clarence Darrow. Because he damaged Drew's client/attorney privilege, he would likely be seated in a second chair role should a criminal trial ensue.

Could it be that this is why TM has so many "mental" problems. Unlike DP he may actually have a conscience.
I think I heard from the mouth of DP that TM current wife has recently left him.
These guys are an awful lot like the Sopranos if you ask me.

Yep, it was Throw Momma From the Train - funny movie.

I just think it's something that should either be verified as true or not - either TM's previous wife disappeared or she didn't - I don't want to take Brodsky's word for it, but find it odd that he would've brought it up.

Since no one has been able to find anything on this statement, my guess is it is something that Drew spouted off and Brodsky ran with it without checking his facts...again! I don't think there is any truth to it.

I think the person someone on here found earlier is his wife. She did have a restraining order on him during the divorce trial situation..so I quess by now if yu read back through the threads you know who I mean ...as in exwife. However that makes perfect sense in the timeline of when Tom would have gone for treatment or the alcohol and / or drugs.

If he has been clean for 10+ years that makes sense. I also noted that he is diagnosed as bipolar..which means that with the right medicine and treatment he would have been on the track to success.. bipolar is a disease that many people with alcol / drug addiction have becuase they are self medicating trying to rid themselves of this disease...however those solutions generally don't work. So I am happy for Tom that he got the treatment he needed. I am sorry for Tom that his step brother was Drew, the SOB, he didn't care about anyone else but himself.

Also, bipolar people in general even thugh they can be violent and abussive are very sensitive. Drew probaly knew this through observation of Tom over the years
On a jury stand I would 110% believe Tom over Drew..Drew thought people would discount Tom due to his history and illness..but he has been treated for that illness and Drew, unfortunately, has not been treated for his.

There is no treatment for Drew. Medications wouldn't help and therapy would be a huge waste of time. He isn't bipolar and this isn't a behavioral disorder, imo. It goes much deeper than that.

That's what Sharon B. said that DP had told her (lost his job, wife left him) when DP was going to go visit TM at the hospital.

Remember, we can't trust anything he says. I think along the way somewhere we found that he doesn't have a current wife and only a girlfriend who is still with him...didn't we? I will have to go back to see.

Yes we did SS, her name is Sheryl Alcox and the home where TM resided with her is listed in her name which is only 1.09 miles from where DP and Stacy's home is.

SS there is a treatment plan for Drew..it is called the life in prison treatment plan for sociopathic serial cheaters and murders..

Well I suppose Drew would have to tell just more lie to explain why his brother was in the hospital..he couldn't very well tell Sharon Tom had a breakdown because I made him help me move Stacy's body out of the house last night.

You know he needs a lie for almost every situation now..which means he is about to trip himself up big time soon. Which also may be another reason Drew feels he needs to get a little R&r before he has to tell anymore stories about this situation.
