View Full Version : DP asks public for financial donations

You have got to be kidding me. D.P. is asking for the public to support his defense. This man has lots of money, plus a $5800 / month pension. He allegedly killed his first wife for financial gain. Money and greed is the root of his evils and he is unwilling to spend his own money to find his children's missing wife. This is all another ruse to support his defense that he believes Stacy is still alive, but again, even with this, he won't spend his own money. Give me a break.

I am truly disgusted. And he hasn't been charged with anything -why start a defense fund now? Didn't Brodskey take this case pro bono?

If Brodsky took this case pro bono, it was with the idea that "if" he got D.P. off from the charges, he would benefit from the publicity. It was his lottery ticket to becoming powerful like Johnny Cochrane.
Now that he realizes the doesn't have a chance, money is his only saving grace in this case. This is an obvious sign to me that he doesn't believe he has any chance in winning. If there is a positive to this story, that is it.

Brodskey is a POS, imo and that is based on documentation of his character and credentials. Birds of a feather...
I'm thinking that DP knows the pension is on the line -- and this is a preemptive strike on his part. What a **** heel! And using the kids!

Let Drew start selling all his toys, his house, and whatever else he can find to sell..I'm sure he has connections, if he needs money. Anybody that can write their son a check for $200,000 when Steve came to pick up the kids does not need anyone's help with money. If he goes broke that's his problem.
So far without any charges being pressed against Drew I see no reason for him to need a lawyer. One will be provided for him if he can't afford one when he is taken into custody.
Better yet Drew just confess, tell everyone where Stacy's body is and save yourself and the taxpayers of Illinois some $$$.
Drew just seems to have no conscience and no class whatsoever.

This guy is a piece of work. He's now looking to profit from murder. He hasn't even been charged with a crime. Yet, he is asking the public for money and using his children as pawns. I haven't seen his children thrust into the limelight. Plus, don't his children have a trust or money from Kathleen's life insurance policy? Didn't Drew reap about $600,000 from her death? What a loser! I only wish that he had a running tally of the money contributed. I can bet that the fund will not break into the triple digits.

There was a discussion about this on the Stacy thread, IIRC. And I posted that this was really a "Pay Joel Brodsky Fund". Who's going to administer this fund? Brodsky has already proven he can't be trusted. He was sanctioned by the bar for stealing from a clients account. Which was conveniently explained away by him.
I am going to bet that the PI is not to find Stacy, but merely to dig up dirt on the witnesses. Character assasination is the only skill Brodsky has. And he's not even good at that!

Drew Peterson: I'm Just Trying To Get Help...
CHICAGO (WBBM/AP) -- Drew Peterson tells Newsradio 780 he's - quote - "just trying to get some help from the American people," by starting a Web site aimed at soliciting donations to his legal defense.
WBBM's Steve Miller reports.
Drew Peterson tells Newsradio 780 - quote - "I've worked as many as six jobs at one time, and for the future of my family - and this has the potential of taking all that away and put me in debt the rest of my life and leave my family with nothing."
Peterson's lawyer Joel Brodsky says Peterson is not asking the public to pay his entire legal bill.
Stacy Peterson's family tells the AP any donated money should first be used for a private investigator to find the woman.
"However, we have hundreds of officers, investigators, probably most or a big part of the state's attorney's office from Will County looking into this case. And all we have is Drew on the other side. A retired cop living on a pension, with a house and a couple of cars."
Brodsky says donations to www.defenddrew.com would go to legal fees and to hiring a private investigator.
The Web site says, "Remaining funds are to be held in a trust for the children and administered outside Drew's control."

Leave his family with nothing, give me a break. The two older children supposedly accoring to DP have a million dollars in a trust for them. They should of also had the money from the sale of their mother's house, or at least her 1/2.
Stacey's children once they declare her dead should have SS money and inherit from the estate. He's such a piece of chit. Trying to dig up sympathy.
Oh, and if his children suffer, they have no one to thank but that piece of chit father of theirs.
They're suffering enough. The two olders ones have not lost just one mother, but two.

I TALKED WITH HOST MONSTER TECH SUPPORT AND HERE IS THE SITUATION (CHAT LOG TRANSCRIPT):
Brandon S. [18:33]: Thank you for choosing Live Chat. My name is Brandon. If you have not already provided the Domain this issue is regarding, please do so now along with any additional details you feel I should have.
Me [18:33]: Do you know why DefendDrew.com was shut down by your company? It’s being talked about all over TV/radio/Internet news sites across America.
Brandon S. [18:34]: That’s the exact reason it was shut down.
[18:34]: Kind of ironic, huh?
[18:35]: Basically, the site is on a shared server environment. This means that several hundred other hosting accounts and their websites are on the same server.
Me [18:35]: But doesn’t your cheapest account handle up to 6000 GB/mo
Brandon S. [18:35]: Your site was getting too much traffic and was causing server performance problems with our Apache web server for the rest of the websites on the server.
[18:35]: They weren’t able to access their websites.
[18:36]: So, our admins temporarily deactivated your account.
Me [18:36]: This isn’t MY account, I’m just wondering what happened… When do you think the account will be back up
[18:37]: They’re currently talking about this all over Chicago on WLS 890 right now
Brandon S. [18:37]: it won’t be up until the owner of the account talks with us, and we let him know what I just told you.
Me [18:38]: What will you guys to to change it so it works again? If you don’t have server capacity within your company to handle such a popular site, are you going to suggest he go with a host that has more experience handling high-traffic sites?
Brandon S. [18:38]: correct
Me [18:38]: Or is there something you can do or change that will be able to support the level of views this site generates
Brandon S. [18:38]: unless he finds some way to limit the amount of traffic to his site.

Well, Scott Peterson's supporters could jump to his defense with minimal changes in their website. Just a first name change - all the old excuses still apply. "No playbook for how to grieve", "rush to judgment", "convicted by the media", et cetera, ad nauseum.

Here's an idea DrewP.
Do the next right thing.
Need a little help with that concept? Here ya go, no charge.
Go to the cops and tell the whole truth. Tell them where you put her body. Accept the services of a court appointed attorney.
Tell your children that their mom did not leave them.
Tell your babies how much their mommy loved them, and that she would never have left them on purpose. Show your children that a real man admits when he has made a mistake, and apologize.Sell all your worldly possesions and put the money into a trust to be invested for their future.
Get right with God. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and accept His total forgiveness. Be grateful that if you do this and keep up your end of the deal, you will not burn in Hell. Begin to pray for your children, that they may heal emotionally and spiritually from this tragedy which you chose to thrust upon them.
Stop worrying about how much money your children will have. God will take care of them. You just need to move out of the way.
OR you can keep lying and sadly, burn in Hell for eternity.
Susan

If you need money for your defense, why don't you sell your airplane and motorcycles? Stacy probably won't be need her bike and neither will you - you'd have a hard time maneuvering it in a 9 x 10 cell. And what makes you think that you are deserving of support from others?
For heaven's sake, Drew, it's Christmas time and there are people out there that have no food, no clothing, no jobs, etc. And many others that need to defend themselves - and they're not asking for the public to help. You have an ample retirement benefit - maybe you should use it to search for your beloved wife and defend yourself if, indeed, you're innocent! After all, you won't need to spend that money on expensive jewelry, boob jobs and the like - that is, unless you are the recipient!

Now he wants money, and is calling attention to himself. Why doesn't he use any funds he receives through the website to give to those homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes (the ones he was so concerned about?)

Since we are talking about DrewP's need for money I think it is only appropriate to mention that Stacy's family has set up a place to donate to the search for Stacy Peterson.

Wasn't just a couple of days ago that DrewP was asking media to use their publicity to get attention for homeowners who needed assistance to keep from losing their homes instead of paying attention to him? Now he wants money, and is calling attention to himself. Why doesn't he use any funds he receives through the website to give to those homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes (the ones he was so concerned about?)
I wonder how long it will be before DrewP makes a plea for a date on there?
Mysteriew, Drew won't need to plea for dates...he'll have plenty of them in Stateville! :behindbar :woohoo:

LOL according to what DrewP told media it is a "test" for the American public- he has appointed himself the proctor to test the American public's generosity!

Oh it will be a test all right, a test to see who in their right mind would ever fall for his crap!
Just wondering, how many times in his life has DrewP ever given to any type of cause, I'm thinking he has never been one to ever give a damn about anybody or anything else, it's always about DrewDrew. And now here he is thinking he can milk this so he won't have to use his money to defend the crimes he voluntarily committed.

This is the first time I came to this thread thinking it was a joke you WS's were doing. (you can be a great bunch of jokesters) :):)
But I am FLABBERGASTED to see it's the truth. Why doesn't DP test out a gun by playing russion roulette???
If he wants a test for the American Public, here's one for him:

LOL, with DrewP we don't have to write our own jokes. He writes them all for us. Of course he can't seem to understand why we are all making fun of him, he is serious when he talks like this.

Brodsky said today that the site was being shut down because the defense fund "has met its short term goal."
Brodsky wouldn't say how much money was raised, citing attorney-client privilege.

short term goal:
1 cent donated by DP
10 cents donated by his mother.........
seriously, his mother probably donated the "short" term goals worth. Glad to see that travesty is SHUT DOWN!!! (If Brodsky is telling the truth, but if he is like DP................................??)

JAB has called the "ethics hotline" for defense lawyers, and he's prohibited from saying how much they rec'd for the defense fund. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_72.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm824YYUS)
I say he check that "ethics hotline" a little more often.

This guy has a $90,000 a year pension and he wants money from me? I make less than $40,000 but then I don't have a big house and all the toys. Poor guy.... I really feel for him and his financial difficulties (NOT).

Drew started trying to undermine his assets I think when he wrote his son Steve a $200,000 check when this all started. That was a home equity loan..meaning Drew's house was paid off, now he can show he owes 200 grand.
Drew has way too many toys that he can sell, the plane , the fishing/ speed boat, the motorcycles, the RV, the scuba gear and equipment, 19 guns, other toys we don't know about, plus a huge amount of bugging and listening devices. Let's not forget Stacy's car if he gets it back will be gone in a NY minute.
Drew just needs to know how to lower his overhead and still live like the rest of us.
And gee Drew here's a new thought..get a job. You are retired from the force, 53 years old, many LE people then go on to a second career. What's your problem Drew..no incentive to work any longer?

I don't know I think 6,000+ a month is darn good for a retirement income. When he reaches SS age he will get that in addition to the 6,000.00. A whole lot of us don't make that much when we work each day.
I have always thought how great it would be to retire young enough and with money enough to enjoy the rest of your life.
He blew it though by possibly letting those two little murders get in the way and mess things up.:D

Hey DD, is it for sure that DrewP has a boat? Where does he keep it?
I saw that in a news article or findstacypeterson.com early in the investigation.. I can't back that up at this present time, but my bet is that is accurate info with all the other toys DP had. I'll try to find the source for the info. It may have been Ric or even Steve or CC . But if I remember it wasn't just a fishing boat, it was a boat also capable of water sking behind....but that is speculation until I find the source.

I agree. Drew can easily afford a 200K mortgage on 6000.00 a month. The rest of us do that on a lost less!

I still can't fathom people donating to Drew...I just don't think that happened. I think the website was shut down by JPC because he found the idea stupid and hurting their case...do we have millionaires helping Drew with donations at his website...I think not..nor do I think the average Joe is going to find Drew someone who needs their financial help..being wrongly accused of ..what? He hasn't been arrested yet for anything.
