I have been following this story for a few days now. Madyson's so-called mother and her boyfriend were arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder after the police found her 4 year old unconscious and not breathing. They said she slipped and fell on the ice.....

I was afraid to look, another one, I just knew it. This poor baby, it looks like her mother did take care of her at one time. What happened, how do you just stop loving your child? Are you sure that is the BF myspace. It says congrats on the new baby in Nov. 2007, that is just a few months ago. Did they have a baby together. Also in the pic of his two girls you can see the baby seat in the back. Just seems odd he would have two daughters and a baby just a few months ago now he is with this mother. They both last logged in back in August.

It just has to be the boyfriend. Look at his pictures, and read the comments that she left him. She is/was sooooooooooo in love! WTF happened to her feelings for her own child?

I didn't see a comment about a new baby on his myspace. In fact, I didn't see any comments. I scrolled (very, very slowly) down to the bottom of the page. Why do people put so much "stuff" on their pages? It's very hard to read most of it. Can you give me "directions" where to find the picture/comment?

Guess his ex is glad that she has their two girls. They are spared the treatment that Maddy received. And poor Maddy, she suffered more than beatings.

Don't know about you, but I'm just about ready to give up on people. Mostly on here we read about the scum of the earth. It's horrible and depressing.

Awwww, I see what you mean with the little baby dolls teeth. I have seen kids with that and it takes alot of attention, care and time to get help for them. This is so sad. God forbid, but I wonder if he ever hurt his biological daughters. I saw where his sister posted it was about time he gave her a nephew. Apparently his ex was supposedly selfish. Heartbreaking....one of the most heartbreaking stories I've read about. I worked in the dental field for over 20 years and as you can tell from looking at the above picture of Madyson, her lower teeth were badly decayed. That was painful to say the least. I'd also venture to say that her uneven teeth were teeth broken by her pos abusers. :mad:
WHY didn't someone report that neglect to CPS?
Why didn't a friend or grandparent call CPS?

How can you see a child with black eyes and not DO something? I just honestly don't understand it. He also threw her so hard against a metal bed headfirst, she bounced off of the headboard and then hit the floor. He conceded that he would flick her private parts, and Mom's way of defending her offspring was to then hit Madyson so hard on her head that Mom's hand would tingle. They let her simply seize over and over again without calling for help....sounds like the two of them were a match made in heaven...it sounds awfully like the Baby Grace case imo. There is nothing that is going to be considered just punishment for these two except that Mark is now tied to Madyson's mother forever and will never, ever be back together with his ex. His children are fortunate.

OMG, I hadn't read that article. Just the very first one. Well, I hope they both fry. I am glad they are stupid enough to talk to, it will make the prosecutions job a lot easier.

I think it is a good idea but, ER visits are very expensive. Lawmakers will balk at the idea. If you required a mandatory visit to a doctor it would have to be immediate or the abuser might be worried enough to do something drastic before the doctor's exam.

How do you balance the right to privacy and the need to protect these innocent victims? Maybe free healthcare for children with mandatory screenings? Maybe we just need (as a society) to be more aware and less afraid to speak out. If CPS is not held accountable this will happen again. We need much more extensive involvement when people report their suspicions. I also think that step-fathers/boyfriends need to be monitored somehow when there are young children in the house. It just happens too often, every freakin' day I read this $hit.

I saw that comment. Not sure what to think of it. If he wanted to leave, he was not married to her, was he? What was making him stay there? His lust for Madyson?

BINGO! Did ya see on her Myspace in the like "about me" part she said she had a child. Then she wrote "Still interested?" Almost like she had already felt rejected by a guy because of her child. PLUS, was he taking out on that poor little baby all the anger he felt about not seeing his own daughters? Then someone on staff, like our family court has "lawyer of the day", there should be a system for new dr's to be "dr's for a day." Social Services can have the physician's close by to examine the child stem to stern, and move them on to the ER if XRAYS are needed....what's a child worth these days? not much apparently.

AND I don't give a $hit how controlling Friend was, Hardy is entirely culpable in this murder. She did NOTHING to stop the abuse, she participated in the abuse. She murdered her daughter just as sure as she gave birth to her. She could have walked away, she could have escaped, she could have saved Mady's LIFE!!! Mady was not adored by her mother, her tooth rot is a very clear indication of the level of care Mady received as a baby.

It is so weird how the pregnancy was not commented on. Not in the myspace, not by the media, not by the friends (maybe once) or family.

Unfortunately, I believe that in a number of mammal species it is quite common for the male to kill the offspring of other males when they take over. :( This is going on memory, but I believe monkeys, apes, and lions are the ones I've read about this happening.

Not that that is any excuse - we are thinking (or supposed to be!) creatures and should be able to overcome any such genetic bias. Far too many men in these situations (of abuse of children) seem to fail to use any thinking or human feeling at all - unless its to their benefit.

I sadly suspect there will be drugs at the root of this situation. I believe Mark introduced Chrystie to drugs, and they ultimately - along with him - took over her life. I try to put myself in the situation of everyone involved in a crime like this, and there is NO explanation other than drugs that would explain how I could let something like this happen to my child. There are tribes in other countries where it is expected that the new husband will kill any children from a former husband. Nothing is done about it because it is normal.

Amen! I don't think you could love your child with all your heart one day and suddenly change those feelings just because you have a new man.

The article said she was afraid to tell her friends about the pregnancy. That is extremely strange. I thought it was wierd of her to ask her friends who really did not like her or Madyson. Why would she ask that?

How about too how they said Madyson's biological dad was looking for them as somebody told him the dude was hurting Crystie. Therefore he thought he may be hurting his baby. Supposedly he was supposed to get Madyson next month. If it matters I think that dude wanted to be back with his own biological kids. He took out all his anger on that poor baby. Colomom! Thank you for the "comments." Also, I wanted to say, after looking at little Maddy's teeth, I agree that the neglect and potentially the abuse started before this mom ever hooked up with the BF. Maybe one of the reasons the mom allowed it to go so far......

Okay, these two definitely are POS but I have to comment on the teeth issue. My son's teeth started rotting when he was 2. His two top teeth were broke when he jumped off his bed and tried to fly, LOL. Anyway, they rotted away. I took him to get the others filled but the dentist said if they were not bothering him to leave them alone and so we did. When he was six we got the roots out so his other teeth could come in. Now I breast fed him until 12 months and he had no bottle, just a pacifier. Now my now 3 year old has 7 cavities and we just don't understand it. She had a bottle until 18 months and we brush her teeth. They don't drink soda. She doesn't eat any more candy the most kids. Well just wanted to say sometimes teeth can be unpredictable but she definitely should have had them fixed so that was definitely neglectful but how they got like that could just be genetic.

You are right, teeth are unpredictable and you can have discolored teeth as an infant/toddler. I stand corrected on part of my righteous indignation rant!

Believe09, you're so funny, LOL! It wasn't a righteous indignation rant, just a natural asumption. I just am a little touchy about the subject because the dental assistants look at me like I am the worst parent in the world and they kept telling me my son had bottle rot, when he had never had a bottle. Anyway, now I am ranting now.:blowkiss:

Eeeeekkkkkk, OK, now I am really sorry I mentioned it.

But, you guys, I have an amazing "instinct" (if I do say so myself :) ) and that was my gut reaction. I think I read in an article early on that the apartment where they lived was a "pigsty", don't quote me, I can't find that reference now. When I read that my perception was set in my mind. I really believe that drugs were also in the mix here, some evidence of that has been mentioned.

Anyway, I may have been completely off-base about her little bitty baby teeth, it just struck me when I noticed that. Regardless of if it was a genetic condition or not, I can assure you, my kids would never have had to deal with that. I would do everything I could to make sure they were fixed. Decay can be very painful, I could not stand the thought.

I have some experience dealing with mothers that do not put their children first and I know that $hithead-Hardy did not put Mady first. What they did to that baby girl makes her decayed teeth seem very insignificant.

We can just talk about how he threw her into a metal headboard so hard that she bounced off of it and then bounced off the floor. Nothing else really matters...you know.

God, I am broken by this one.

BEFORE I post I want you all to know I am not for the mom or boyfriend, I am for the POLICE OFFICERS when I make this statement.

You say nothing was done about her black eyes...We can not say, we were not thier we did not see her reported BLACK EYES? Maybe thier was nothing founded at that visit, we do not know. We have not seen any reports to show anything. I have enough faith in our law enforcement that when Kids are involved; they NO MATTER WHAT DO THIER JOB. They are all comments, people upset and rightfully so about what has happened to this poor little girl, but lets blame the parents and not Law enforcement UNLESS it is proven that they did not do thier job. I am thankful for our law enforcement who put themselves out there every day trying to make lives and our streets safer.


One of the comments at KKTV said a grandmother reported Madyson having black eyes but nothing was done about it.
