I will admit I have read everything pretty much so far, but have not seen one video yet as I am on a VERY VERY SLOW MODEM line and it takes over 1/2 or so for the video.

Did Maria look like Maria in the video?? Was there anything obvious that would make you think it was NOT Maria based on the pictures you have seen of her so far?

It appears that you are voicing some thoughts that she appeared nervous? This IMO would be for one of three reasons: 1.) She was being force; 2.) She wasn't Maria; or 3.) It was Maria and she knew she was going UA.

Yes! phone companies are much better than cable companies. I have qwest and they made it painless for me. Their prices are better than cable companies.

it's being reported she called her mother on the 14th....i haven't seen actual phone records though, as to what phone she used....i would think she used her own cell phone though.....if her phone was turned off at some point on the 14th, this could be another reason LE thinks she was killed ON the 14th...

I'd already posted earlier (shortly before your post) that it said DAYTON on the shirt and maybe it was a reference to Dayton, OH. :) I don't know if it was a clue or just the only big sweatshirt she had.

i, on the other hand, browsed around the Motherhood Store & got a pair of cotton jogging type pants & a white T for my daughter-in-law...both were on clearance for 10 bucks a piece:D

it was definately Maria in at the ATM, imo...she didn't "look" threatened to me...she looks behind her at one point, which i always do, if i use an ATM where you have to walk up to it.....i very seldom use those kinds for that reason...instead i always use the drive-up kind...safer, imo.....

That's ok, Littledeer ~ GMTA! :) I understood that she'd have to wear her uniform (camos) at work and civilian clothes when off base. I'd like to know the extent of her wardrobe too, but more importantly what she supposedly took with her when she left that note for Durham that she was "going away".

They even have very specific ways of wearing their hair. Looks like she just came from work and changed...or she got so used to wearing her hair that way that she made it a habit. You can tell from the side that the woman is either heavy-set or pregnant. I'm certain this is Maria.

I did this from the AMW videos. Just used the Screen Capture function, opened it in paint, saved it, and then transferred to another photo-editing program to darken/sharpen/contrast it a bit so the photo is a little more clear.

I'm at your service if anyone has any other photos they want captured/clarified for analysis. :)

Since she's pregs, wouldn't she park as close as possible?
I know I always park closest poss and I'm not even preggers!

It looks as though there might be some parking

exactly....when i use those kind of ATMs (the kind you walk up to) i'm always conscious of my surroundings, looking around, to make sure no one is walking up behind me...i would think a person would be even more conscious of their surrroundings when withdrawing a large sum of money....the ATM video of Maria doesn't look the least bit suspicious to me....

Being an E-3 (Lance Corporal), she probably made about $1,501.20 per paycheck (http://www.dfas.mil/militarypay/newinformation/WebPayTableVersion2006updated.pdf). Since she put in for off-base housing, she would also be eligible for BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing). 2007 rates were $670 for an E-3 with no dependents (children - you do not get extra pay for housing until you actually have the child). Source here: http://images.military.com/ContenFiles/2007-BAH-without-dependents.pdf - The extra BAH is only applied ONCE per month...and that pay is before other deductions.

So, no, $700 is actually a very conservative amount for someone planning to leave and not return. If you were going to leave unauthorized and know the Marine Corps could track your bank activity, wouldn't you actually go IN to the branch and withdraw more? I'm surprised she took out that amount, though, because I was under the impression you couldn't draw any more than $400 at a time. Maybe her credit union worked differently.

I would think she would have taken the whole amount if she were going to seriously run away.

That really helped me so much! Ever since we heard of that withdrawl, I was thinking it was a lot of money ~ maybe I should be in the military!! :)

I agree based on how much she did get, it sure doesn't look like she intended to go AWOL, like her note indicated, unless that was all she could withdraw in a single day. When he used her ATM card on the 24th, it was for $400., so maybe he too thought that's all he could get.

Yes there are. A friend had a small-business account and the business ATM card allowed for up to $800. per day. Personal accounts usually are only up to $500. though.

I come from a USMC family, but that presser literaly sickened me.:mad: Maria never had a chance.


I tried to write this once, right after it was first on the air, but ran into the server problem and it never posted. Now I'm ready to vent again. I'm from a military family and still have lots of friends in the military so I don't have a bias against the military. But that presser still has me fuming at the "tude" they displayed against Maria. The spokesperson had a smurk on his face the whole time. I was just waiting for him to roll his eyes, when a few questions about Maria were asked. And when he discribed the suspect as a stellar marine, I wanted to scream. Common sense would help you edit your remarks and not describe the victim as "solid" and the accused as"stallar". The subtlety of the bias was GLARING to me. Then the comments in the Q&A. The NCIS guy was unethical in my opinion. He revealed Maria's inconsistent statements when she has no opportunity to explain because she's deceased! How damaging to her reputation that was. It was a smear campaign to cover their own butts. I've worked in a male dominated work environment and my husband works in law enforcement and the bias against women is alive and well and it makes me sick!! I think the USMC presser was an insult to the all the good people who serve in our military. JMHO:furious:

you are right, the last frame is the first. So, she walks to the atm, a truck pulls up, she looks over her shoulder, the truck starts backing out and she walks off, all in less than 1 minute

ETA: ok that frame out of order was throwing me off. It is 2 different trucks I was looking at. The one in the first frame (last in order played ) could be a dodge, but looks two toned. The one that pulls up looks more like a toyota or something that pulls up while she is there and still there when she leaves

The truth probably is inserted into the lies...but remember...Christina is the one spouting them for the most part except for the notes.

well, let's see......Maria talks to her mother at 2:30 pm....she talks to Cesar, then packs a few things, leaves a note for Durham, goes to the ATM, goes to the bus station, then heads to Cesar's home where an argument starts....the rest is history....he then has a friend help him get Maria's car out of his driveway the next day ...... i heard the neighbor say they saw Cesar driving her car on the 16th or 17th...(i personally don't think the neighbor is 100% sure about dates)...can't remember when, but he did say the next day he never saw it again..i don't think Maria's car stayed at Cesars but a day...two at the most....

I'd like to know how Maria ended up being murdered in the Laurean's garage. If she came over to confront Laurean, she'd be in the living room or entryway. Now, since there was blood found in the living room, maybe the violence started there and she ran into the garage -- but why not out the front or back door? Surely the garage door was closed when he murdered her in there. She would have seen that when she drove up.

I used to have an unemployed neighbor that had a lady "friend" that came over for visits while his wife was at work. The lady "friend" always parked in the garage and the garage door was closed the whole time the "friend" was over.

I know...because MY dog didn't think the lady "friend" was part of our neighborhood and stood outside barking at the top of his lungs trying to protect the neighborhood from the "intruder". My dog also barked when the intruder left.

Anyway, someone who wanted to be at another person's house, but didn't want their car seen there, would pull into the garage and let the door be closed.

No. Think of it this way: Would a company put out a newspaper with stories like, "Employee Murders Fellow Employee," "Rape Suspect Works Next to Victim"? No, companies print stories like, "Picnic a Great Success."

Has anyone heard or read anything new today ? I hope they don´t let this case get cold, or they'll never catch him. And I hope LE is making Xtina squirm a lot. I just KNOW she is very involved in this and there is ssssooo much more to this story than what she has told so far.

Has anyone heard or read anything new today ? I hope they don´t let this case get cold, or they'll never catch him. And I hope LE is making Xtina squirm a lot. I just KNOW she is very involved in this and there is ssssooo much more to this story than what she has told so far.

Has anyone had any luck locating photos of Xtina ? Does anyone live near her hometown in Ohio that could go to the public library and locate a high school picture ? I don't think she has changed too much since then as she is only 24. I am positive that if there were photos of Xtina up someone would recognize her or remember something.

What if CL told Maria that HE was planning to go UA
but that he needed her help to make good his escape

Did you watch the MC presser?? The MC was aware of a LOT of things that they are NOT talking about. The only reason we KNOW Maria reported her car being vandalized and someone hitting her in the face is because a reporter in the audience asked a direct question. And WHY would Maria even BOTHER to report an encounter of a personal nature between her and Xtina? Not like the MC was going TO DO anything about it. All Xtina did was TALK, nothing for the MC to DO about that, was there? And to bring it up to NCIS would just have made MARIA look like a cry-baby and gotten her additional scrutiny she did NOT want. Maria just wanted CL and Xtina and the whole thing to go away - at least until the baby was born. She was TRYING to "be a Marine" and just endure in silence .

I do not doubt Xtina confronted Maria - if it was YOUR husband and you could confront his accuser - even for one minute - wouldn't YOU? Xtina didn't touch Maria and she didn't stand there and go on and on or cause a scene, she said her thing to Maria's face and moved on. I have no problem believing what Maria told her Mother.

Breaking news on this case. Shep on Fox News Channel reporting that there is a new lead. Trace G is on scene at the sheriff office. These leads came in from AMW. One tip in particular from Mexico seems to be credible. They are now checking out these leads that came in. Trace is saying that Maria died from the first blow.

The blood came not just from the body, but from the weapon - they mentioned possibly a baseball bat. So the splatters on the ceiling could have come from the bat as it was raised up and down.

I thought that's why the DA said no DP if he's in Mexico, but only if he's in Mexico and not still here in the US. I agree and the "feeling tricked" part was brought up on Nancy's show last week when someone asked if the military could bring him back here on the desertion or rape charge and then the local LE charge him with the murder. The answer was they wouldn't do that because it could lead to Mexico not cooperating in the future and damage relations.

ATM surveillance video and photos from a fire pit and inside Cesar Laurean's home were released today by the Onslow County Sheriff's Office.
Laurean, a Camp Lejeune Marine, has been on the run since January 11. He is accused in the death of 20-year-old Maria Lauterbach, a Camp Lejeune Marine who was eight-and-a-half months pregnant when she disappeared. Lauterbach's remains and those of her unborn child were found buried in Laurean's backyard.

Captain Rick Sutherland says the photo of the fire pit was what officials saw when they entered the backyard on January 11, before they knew Lauterbach's body was buried there.
The Sheriff's Office also released images of paint, paint cans and materials in Laurean's garage. Sutherland believe Laurean purchased these items in Jacksonville on December 16 or December 24.

I think they've identified the guy at Lowe's according to FNC today and it's not his brother. I do wonder where the brother is now though! Nothing's been mentioned of him at all on the news.

Fox News reporting that the SO/DA has made an agreement with Mexico that the DA will not seek the death penalty for Cesar if he's found in Mexico, so that Mexico will return him to NC.

ETA: I didn't hear all of it clearly, but something also mentioned about a 2001 court ruling ??? that Mexico also considers LWOP cruel and unusual punishment; that the DA may be researching this. That would be bunk if they won't extradite in the possibility of LWOP, as well. Grrrr. Hopefully there are ways around that, that t
