This is an extremely affluent area, and the mall is the most upscale mall in the entire state.

That said, there is an element - some people who are less affluent and potentially more disposed to crime - that also frequent the mall. (it's not that far from the inner city)

Authorities unsuccessfully searched for him on property belonging to family and friends in Fond du Lac and Langlade counties...

...said Martin made suicidal statements when he was arrested Jan. 13 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, after crashing his car in Bayside.

She said police were then legally required to take Martin to the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division, where he stayed until being picked up by his niece on Jan. 15.

The next day, police said, Martin used his pass key around 5:30 a.m. at White Oak Apartments, where he lived and worked as a maintenance man, and called a resident who was a cab driver to ask for a ride. The man refused. Martin was possibly seen later that morning getting off a Milwaukee County Transit bus at Bayshore Town Center in Glendale.

Martin was reported missing on Jan. 18 by his niece, police said.

Martin's vehicle was towed from the accident scene and it's still impounded, so Martin couldn't have used it to travel anywhere...

This is also a very populated area, so if suicide was his intent, he would likely be found quickly.

However, Lake Michigan is a couple miles walk....
