A 50-year-old Ponte Vedra Beach woman who was subject to a brief search after her car was found abandoned on J. Turner Butler Boulevard on Thursday morning remains missing.

Yvonne L. Johnston was last seen by her husband at 4:30 a.m. Thursday at her home on Red Snapper Lane. Her car was found on the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Jacksonville Beach about 5:30 a.m.

Johnston is described as a white woman, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing light-colored pajamas with no shoes. She did not have a wallet or cell phone in her possession.

"Certainly the belief is there that this individual may have jumped from the bridge, but we don't have that as factual knowledge," said St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Chuck Mulligan.

Sadly, a body has been found in the waterway - I cannot post the link - my computer is playing up - try news4jack.com or googling Yvonne's name - As yet identity unconfirmed, but this is very sad.

A positive identification and exact cause of death are pending an autopsy by District Medical Examiner, Dr. Terrence Steiner.Earlier Friday, Johnston's brother told Channel 4 that they are hopeful that she'll be found, but fear the worst has happened."I don't believe that she would just walk away from everything," Chris Grens said. "It's very unlike her."

I can't find an article that states specifically when Yvonne was identified.
