Elda Vazquez, 28, has been missing since January 22, 2008. She was last seen entering a taxi around 10:30 outside Eggspectation restaurant in Ellicott City, MD. Anyone with information should contact the Howard County Police Department at (410) 313-3200.

From what I heard on the news about this, the cab dropped her off about a block from her home and she hasn't been seen since.

The suspect in the disappearance and murder of a woman whose remains were found in a city storm sewer is dead.

WBAL TV is reporting that Victor Cruz died in custody.

Cruz hanged himself in his central booking holding cell according to authorities.

Cruz had been charged after a utility worker found the body of Elda Vasquez under a manhole cover on Benninghaus Road late last week.

She had been missing more than a year. Cruz was found unconscious in the cell overnight and declared dead at the hospital.

Police said Cruz, an undocumented alien from Mexico, had confessed to the killing.
