Authorities planned to resume their search today for a Holland Township man, missing since Tuesday, whose car was found in the parking lot of Holland State Park.
Jamey Cousins, 33, may have fallen in the water while taking pictures of waves and blowing snow during Tuesday's storm that moved through the region, police said.
Authorities on Wednesday searched the park along Lake Michigan for three hours and used a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter to assist in the search, Ottawa County sheriff's Sgt. Ed DeVries said. Officers, fire personnel and family searched the pier, ice and the park grounds without success while trying to locate the Muskegon native.
Darkness ended the search, and DeVries said authorities were to check conditions today and attempt to resume the search.
Police said Cousins' mother spoke with him about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and he told her he was at the park.
No one has heard from him since. His car was found in the park's lot Wednesday afternoon.
Police have no reason to suspect foul play in the disappearance, and Cousins had not revealed suicidal thoughts, family members told searchers.
"There's no indication of anything and he could be somewhere else and not have contacted family or friends," DeVries said. "At this time, the investigation continues."
Cousins' family could not be reached for comment.
The man's roommate told police Cousins did not return home Tuesday night, and co-workers said he did not show up for work Wednesday.
Authorities said Cousins is about 5-foot-8 and weighs about 200 pounds. It wasn't known what he was wearing when he went missing.
