So many families have incredible poetry for their loved ones.
Poetry for those still missing, and poetry for those who have been found.
This is a place to post that poetry.
For everyone who has ever been taken or harmed.
With love and hope, Lanie

days and nites
to many tears
parents upset
lots of fears
child still missing
will he or she
ever be found
days and nites
turn into years
tears and fears
much stronger
than before
need some closure
when will they be found
wish i could turn back
those hands of time
maybe he or she
would never be gone
usaly it takes me a while to create a poem
but this one just came to me i was thinking about some cold cases from way back in the 70s and 80s and the words just came to me

days get longer years go bye
i often wonder where he or she lies
are they ok? are they eating?
or are they gone to some place unknown
answers i need them
time growing short
years gone by
hope somewhat shatterd
tears on holidays
tears the day they went missing
tears every day i see something that reminds
me of them
you say you understand
do you?
i wish i had answers
i wish that they were still
here
i hope and pray
someday they
will be found
or come back to me
this is for all the familys who have a loved one missing and for all the missing cold case children and adults

Here is a poem my daughter JoAnn wrote after her sister disappeared.
Untitled by JoAnn Cooke
I don't like to think
about how you aren't here.
Because thinking brings hurt,
thinking bring fear.
But how can I forget,
how can I move on?
When I am safe home,
and you are lost gone.
Our lack of cognizance
left you in the open.
unsuspecting and alone
coveted by men.
The feelings of guilt,
will never end,
because he succeeded in taking
my sister, my friend.
So what can I do?
Would it even matter?
How do I fix a mirror,
when the pieces are shattered?
