Prince George's County police are searching for a 16-year-old girl who was last seen Valentine's Day at her Laurel home.
Tiana Aquene Deramous left her residence located in the 11700 block of South Laurel Drive about 4 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators suspect she may have run away from home because of a discipline matter at school.
Authorities say the Tiana and her sister had stopped showing up to classes for many days at a time.
ABC 7/NewsChannel 8 spoke with Tiana's mother who said she is upset that the school never notified her once that either of her children were truant. She claims that she only recently began receiving automated phone calls stating her daughter had missed school.
The missing girl is described as a black female, 5'5" and weighing about 120 pounds. She has brown eyes, black hair and goes by the nickname of "PeterPan". She was last seen wearing tan pants, white shirt and a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Tiana Deramous is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department at (301) 937-0910.
