The victim was wearing dark colored clothing when found. Attempted Homicide Female in Hoge Road Area

Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $2,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with the attempted homicide of a 34-year-old white female in the area of Hoge Road Washoe County, NV. On November 11, 2004 at approximately 10:47 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about a wounded female. The victim’s injuries were mainly to the head and appeared to have been caused by blunt force trauma. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The victim stated she was forced into a green truck and brought to the hills above Hoge Road where the suspect tried to kill her. A friend on West 4th St. near Ralston saw the victim on Thursday night at approximately 10:00 p.m. as she was walking alone. This attack may be related to one that occurred in the same general area on June 3rd. That female victim reported that she was picked up by a male suspect driving a dark colored SUV while she was walking in the area of West 4th and Arlington Avenue. The suspect battered the victim with what appeared to be blunt force trauma to the head. The suspect in both cases is described only as a clean cut Hispanic or Native American male adult, 30 to 35 years old, approximately 5’6” to 5’9” tall, muscular build with short curly hair combed back, and pock marked complexion. Based on items seen in his vehicle the suspect may work in the construction industry. A composite drawing of the suspect is available at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect or the suspect vehicle. Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has since identified the victim, but has not released the name pending notification of kin. An autopsy was performed and the case is being considered a homicide. Reno, NV. On August 19, 2005 at approximately 12:32 a.m. the victim was walking home from Oddie Blvd. and Sutro St. when she noticed a male following her. The suspect grabbed the female, drug her from the sidewalk into a dirt lot, and sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to bite the suspect on the right cheek during the assault. A passerby interrupted the assault and the suspect ran westbound from the area. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit tracked the suspect to the 1600 block of Wedekind Blvd. and lost the trail. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’5” to 5’7” tall, 180 to 190 pounds, clean shaven, wearing a grey t-shirt and black pants. The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. The victim reported that a couple picked her up as she walked near Keystone Ave. and drove her to Washoe Medical Center. The victim was wearing black tights and a shirt. I think this is the party where the former coach from Reno High was involved. From what I found in news reports, the coach was female and supposedly told the mother of one of the girls attending that it was an all female "sleepover" and instead it became a huge drunken party with tons of people of both sexes plus various ages.

The suspect turned south on Arlington and the victim told him she wanted out of the vehicle. The suspect began punching the victim and grabbing her hair. The victim was able to jump from the vehicle at the intersection of Arlington and West Second Street. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male adult, 30 to 40 years old, salt and pepper hair, three previous scratch marks on the left side of his face, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and brown slacks. The vehicle was described as a 1970’s crew cab dually pickup truck, white with blue lettering on the side and a lumber rack. Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. The suspect did steal the victim’s purse, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. The victim was taken to Washoe Medical Center where she was treated for numerous cuts and abrasions. The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 27 to 28 years old, 5’11” tall, 180 pounds, thin build, blonde hair, and clean-shaven. The suspect was dressed up for Halloween as a boxer, last seen wearing a black and white silk robe, black and white boxing shorts, and black and white boxing shoes. I was just thinking. Even though the robbery doesn't fit the MO for what we know, maybe he took the purse thinking her keys and ID with address would be in it. He could have wanted to go back for her???

There sure are alot of unsolved murders and rape/attempt rape in the Reno area. I would hope that LE has put some kind of pattern, or at least realized they may have some type of serial rapist/killer on the loose? I live in No Cal and Reno is 2 hours away. He could live in CA up the mtns by Susanvile- it a small town and alot of people drive to the bigger cities to work- It is only 45 mins from Reno.

Boise, ID. 7 hours

So just because Las Vegas is in Nevada does not make it the most logical place to look for other victims.

Because of the proximity to Reno, I could easily see the suspect disposing of his victim in a remote vicinity two hours away from Reno. Or, abducting a woman from another city and disposing of the body in that area. The location of where that woman was found is just too close to Reno.

It may turn out that there's no relationship to the Reno attacks, but at this time we have to consider every possibility.

It takes one hour from Reno to get to the general vicinity of Colfax,CA or Grass Valley,CA or El Dorado county or Nevada, Sierra and Placer counties, in general. People who live where I live, go to Reno for a day trip all the time.

This girl has been found. Can't find an article online, but this morning's RGJ (which I'm just now reading) tells us she was found yesterday.

She had run away after a fight with her mother.

The body found in Sunset Park on Feb. 29 is that of 20-year-old Mariela Moreno of Henderson.

She had been missing since New Year’s Day. Police are investigating her death as a homicide.

Moreno was identified through fingerprints, Clark Count Coroner Michael Murphy said. Her cause of death has not been determined and is under investigation, he said.

Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $1,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with the kidnapping and robbery of a female victim in the parking lot of Melenitas in the area of Kietzke and Vassar Street Reno, NV. On November 13, 2007 Officers responded to the Town and Country Shopping Mall on a report of a strong-armed robbery of a female victim. The suspect approached the victim and punched her in the stomach, forcing her to open her vehicle. The suspect ordered the victim to drive him to the opposite end of the parking lot where he demanded money. The victim attempted to use her cell phone to call police, but the suspect took the phone and disabled it. The suspect fled on foot heading eastbound on Vassar St. The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 35 to 37 years old, 5’10” to 6’ tall, 160 pounds, clean-shaven, wearing a grey baseball cap, black sweatshirt, and blue jeans. The suspect matched the description of a local patron who frequents the area. Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. I am continually searching news for past rape and attempted rape. Some of the things I am finding certainly fit the profile. Some do not fit, but I believe that this man has learned from past 'mistakes' as it were, what NOT to do, to stay secret. I found one in Santa Cruz, CA, and here is another one

ALso, the fact that UCDavis had many attempted rapes in the past, from the same perp, gives me concern...it is the I80 freeway corridor.
Brianna's mother stated in the news, that she knows he would attack again, and she says specifically, that it would be college related...how might she know that? What does she know that we do not, from LE? Thus, this little clue helps us look back at attempted rapes, and see if possibly there is a connection.We cannot rule out the fact that he could be caught somewhere else, on a similar or unrelated charge, and they won't know who they have, so we must be vigilant to watch arrests, to see if WE can connect it, and help LE.
