Deputy Cmdr. Kent Bradburn, with the Navajo County Sheriff's Office (http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0302missing0302-ON.html#), said Gina Tapley Saturday contacted family in Missouri. Her husband, Michael Tapley, has not been seen or heard from since the couple disappeared Feb. 15.
Gina, 46, reportedly failed to provide her location Saturday when she talked with family members.
Bradburn said investigators still want to find Gina because she could lead them to Michael.

This sounds strange indeed.
Hope both of them are safe and sound where ever they may be.

7 March 08
The Sheriff's Office reported that Michael Tapley, 52, and his wife Gina Tapley, 46, have been missing since Feb. 15. Family members did not hear from either until Gina contacted them March 1.
"We have executed search warrants at the residence but didn't see anything that would indicate foul play," Deputy Commander K.C. Clark of Major Crimes Apprehension Team said. "The only thing we have is that the disappearances were mysterious. According to the family, it was out of the ordinary for them not to contact family members."
Michael Tapley works for the Snowflake Unified School District but failed to report for work Feb. 18. He was last seen leaving work the previous weekend.
As of March 5, Clark said, family members reported having seen Gina as well as hearing from her. Nothing had been heard from Michael as of that date.
"We just don't have a starting point to look for him," Clark said. "We do have an attempt-to-locate on the vehicle and the couple sent to law enforcement agencies across the country."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Navajo County Sheriff's Office at (928) 524-4450 or the local sheriff's substation.
(So what has Gina told family members? Has LE interviewed Gina? I wish there was more info about this. Hoppy)

Interesting case, GiGi! Sounds like Gina has some explaining to do. OK What do we know about their prior situation? Let's get down to the brass tacks on this.

I live about half an hour away from the town that Michael went missing (Snowflake, AZ). I have talked to his sister Kim and she sent me a packet with information to post. I just posted 5 links to some of the information. I will be posting more in the next day.
The family hasn't gotten much cooperation from authorities. They (LE) just don't seem to be interested in the case much. They went through the motions and gave up. Snowflake is a very small town and I believe the LE may not have enough experience to deal with this. LE from another county was involved in the search for a time because it was believed that Micheal may have been in that county. But it seems that if it is a missing man, it gets treated differently than a missing woman.?
I urged Michaels sister Kim to let Websleuths help. You guys are better than any LE I know  so please take a look at the case and ask any questions you have. If you pm me I will give you Kim's phone# and email and you can talk directly to her. I am available to go to the town of Snowflake or to the county for any information that any of you want or need to help solve this case. I will be posting more info asap (there were 3 Orders of Protection filed against Gina Tapley (Michael's wife) by her 3rd husband and one Order of Protection filed against Gina Tapley by Micheal (he was her 4th husband). I can't post these until I white out the SS#'s but will do asap.
Thanks everyone for helping :blowkiss::blowkiss::blowkiss::blowkiss::blowkiss:

Arizona, did you notice that on the timeline, they have the date of February 30? They also have an entry for that date. Since there is no date of February 30 that exists, when did those events happen? Kim may want to double check those facts around that time. I am not telling her what to do, just letting her know that I saw the inconsistency and am afraid it might be questioned. Then again I may have read it wrong, but it is worth looking into. Thank you for posting those documents, puts a lot of things into perspective. Thank you also for passing along this info!

From all indications the wife needs to be strongly looked at in his disappearance. Something isn't holding water and I believe she knows more about what happened to Michael. The family needs to pursue this strongly and enlist other LE help if need be.

My gosh, this poor family. They are having to do the detective work themselves. Since state lines were crossed and we don't know where the possible foul play occurred, wouldn't FBI involvement be possible? I think if I was a family member I would call the FBI. They do have the evidence that the wife gave his truck away in Missouri.

I cannot get the links to work so forgive me if this is already answered.
1. Any history of drug abuse?Alcohol abuse?
2. Marital problems?
3. Are there any children involved?
4. Phone records?
5. Insurance policies?
6. Has anyone called the local news media especially the investigative reporter type who love stories like this?
This family needs to be a total pest to LE. Call every single day, call the FBI office every single day and call every single news media they can find.
They also need to let is slip they are thinking of taking civil legal action against the wife since she is not helping the investigation she must be holding something back. Let HER know she is going to be the focus of lawyers and the media.

Pixies, I am asking the sister those questions. Will post asap
I agree with anyone who said the wife appears involved. There's only one reason she hasn't been more forthcoming with family, she's hiding something.
People don't just walk off and leave all their worldy possessions, not even counting wife and dog. NO, doesn't happen.
Even before I got to the part where she had had 'domestic calls' against her, I suspected she did something to this man.
People don't like to think that there's such a thing as domestic abuse against men, but it does happen. Probably 10 X's more than we know, because I don't think most are reported.
I hope this gets some type of national media attention. Maybe if the RIGHT person see's this story, it can lead to where Michael is.
Prayers to the family for strength and answers.

The family has pretty much come to the conclusion that the wife has "done" something to Michael. They just need the help finding out what and where.
They don't have help from LE and don't have the knowledge to do it themselves.
If any of you have specifics, please post them. I'm not very knowledgeable myself, so am turning to you guys.
I know that the cell phones could be traced by the pings on the towers. They could find out the wife's locations that way but how does the family go about getting that done?
thank you all for any help :blowkiss:
ps PIXIES and CAROLINE I forwarded your suggestions on to the family. Thanks!

In response to previous questions:
No drugs, but I understand Gina drank wine excessively, especially in the last year of their marriage.
They did have marital problems and Michael's co-workers stated that he was going to have to ask her to leave. They had only been married 3 years. They both have grown children, but none shared and none that ever lived with them during their marriage.
Michael's phone has not been used since 2 days before he dissapeared.
We have not been able to determine if there was an ins. policy or not. The police are not giving up that info (or never bothered to check)
We have contacted many media sources. There have been 2 tv spots and 3 news articles so far. I have appealed to many others and have not had much luck.
The sheriff's office had long ago stopped taking or returning our calls.

Did the sister contact Tim Miller and Co? That is who I would be calling. I would bet money the wife got rid of her husband somewhere. She sounds like a real hum dinger. Real violent. If the family can't get any help from LE then they will have to turn to other resources like Tim Miller and some of the other places. No one should get away with murder.

Kim, why would LE not cooperate with them? Embarrased that they didn't do their jobs and someone else came in and did it for them?
Maybe we should give LE a call. I'll do it. Should I call Snowflake AZ police dept or Coconino County Sheriff dept? Not sure which one would be working with Equusearch. Let me know and I'll call. Maybe if they get calls from the public and your family, it will be enough pressure to get them to cooperate. It's their job and we shouldn't have to do that but if it helps I'm game.

If I were in your shoes Kim I would be down at that police station demanding to know why they refused to cooperate with Tim and his organization. If they don't want to look for Michael then they should cooperate with anyone who wants to search for him. If you don't get any cooperation from the detectives then ask to talk to the chief of police. If nothing happens there then contact the Attorney General of your state. Maybe you can get some action there. There is no good reason for LE not cooperation with Tim Miller.
I hope LE at least has sense enough to take a look at the wife's record of abuse and that they question her. Nothing probably happened at their home but they could go over their vehicles with a fine tooth comb. If they would get off their lazy butts they can find out where the truck was repaired and talk to the workers of that repair shop. It doesn't sound like they are doing anything :furious: Do you know the name of the town where the truck was repaired? If so, I would make some calls to the body shops in that town myself and see what you can find out. Course if it is a big town there may be a list of repair shops a mile long! It is your brother's truck and you should be able to ask questions about the repairs....I think anyway.

It's unfortunate, but the highest authority in AZ is the sheriff, and if they choose not to do anything there is no one willing to step in any force the issue. We actually know the name of the repairman and gave the info to the Navajo County Sheriff's office. He reported seeing Gina, but not Michael and , in fact, stated that the cab of the truck was so full no one else could have fit. Nobody saw my brother traveling with her. She then gave away my brothers truck which left her with no vehicle 1500 miles from home. The bumpers and tires were immediately stripped. The vehicle was blacklighted on the inside, but never fully processed. That was the call of the sheriff's office. It's scary to find out this way the kind of power authority has, even in our country. I have taken to appealing to the media and the politicians to hopefully put pressure on the sheriff. He is not seeking re election and apparently does not care. I have begged for help from the governor, the atty general, the FBI, congressmen. So far, not one of them is willing to step on the toes of the Navajo County Sheriff. I appreciate your ideas and I will never stop trying until my brother is found.

Kim, I can't begin to imagine the frustration that you must be feeling. What a bunch of lousy LE people in your area. Everyone is tying your hands!! Is there any chance of you being able to talk to the repairman? He should have been able to tell if it looked like the truck hit or ran over a person as opposed to a tree or something like that. What did he do to the truck...repair the damage or replace parts? Wonder if the parts are laying around there somewhere if he replaced them? If so, there might be blood on them or a piece of clothing or something to prove the truck was involved. Of course you would need a forensic person to go over the parts....not one in your area..for sure.
That witch sold that truck because it was involved in a crime! Is she back in your town now? What does she say about Michael...where he is? Of course anything she told LE would be a lie. She did something to him. I can't imagine a woman acting like a man when someone wants to leave her. Women aren't usually that violent. Sounds like she has some real head problems.
I really wish I could come up with something for you but I have racked my brain and I don't know what else you could try. Would it help if some of us contacted the sheriff? I would be happy to do that if you will give me his email address or regular address. Maybe if he realizes that people are watching this case he will get off his butt.
Have you had any communication with Kelly whose son Jason is missing? She has an organization that helps people with missing loved ones. She might be one who could come up with something for you. I can't remember the name of the organization but someone on here will let you know after they read this.

OK, so let's do this:
Map out the possible routes between Snowflake and where she went in MO. Contact all of the State Law enforcement agencies, such as Texas Rangers, etc., in all the states she could have possibly gone through. Include in the agencies that we contact the Dept of Justice and the FBI, the Governors of all those states, etc. Possibly contact the major news outlets in some of the major cities?
We could do a flyer, with details on the disappearance. I'll be happy to take the details part, and put it in a brief, bullet point type, easy to read attachment to the flyer. Is there already a missing person flyer available for him? A recent picture that we can use?
If we all work together, maybe we can generate some interest and get some heat put on this Sheriff's Office.

Barb and GiGi,
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help! According to Gina and her credit card trail, she followed I40 to I35, we know she stopped in Albuquerque, Witchita, KS, then up to Lees Summit where her brother works. At the very beginning of March my niece travelled that route in her car. She stopped at every rest stop, restaurant, etc. and spoke with highway patrol all along the way while hanging flyers. She spoke to the repairman in Witchita and the casino people in Kansas City. She spoke to the brother and mother in Raymore, MO. She worked closely with LE in that area. All of this was done while it would have been fresh in their minds. Actually, she was travelling to MO as Gina was travelling from. She found a couple of people that saw Gina, but none that saw Michael. Gina took Michael's dog with her and left her with Gina's mother, where my niece found her and took her back home. I have been sending info to news people in Witchita and Kansas City trying to get them to put out a story.
I have a list of phone and email of people that I have asked for help, none of them have responded yet. If LOTS of people phone or email them I hope they will see the potential in a story. For anyone willing, I think this may be our only hope, to get the media involved and FORCE someone to look closer at this case. Thank you all so much!

After reading the latest update by Holliston tonite, I'm really riled up at that sheriff. The statement that he made to Michael's daughter was WAYYYYY out of line, and obviously set the tone for the entire investigation in my eyes.
"Finally Christine spoke with him and he told her, 'You really don't think that little bit of a woman could hurt your big ole dad, do you honey?'"
Ummmmmmmmmmm, yah !!! (edited a bunch of stuff out here)
Men in his county don't deserve the same protection as women do?
I think I'll just write the ACLU tomorrow and see what they think about it. First time I've ever wanted to write to them, and I think I'ma just gonna do it.

Kim,
I have copied your email and call list and will forward to several other sites where people are very willing to be involved in writing and calling.
I hope that we can at least get your family a response and that something can be done to search for your brother, and at least get someone off their butt and do something!
There are a lot of caring people out here!

Barb, I sent out a "first round" but no responses, which is not unusual. I have taken the addresses to several other sites, but I don't know how many are on the band wagon.
I will also send out another round this weekend along with you! It takes great numbers of people all at the same time to be doing this to create an affect and get the attention needed. I hope others are participating as well.

I think if we make a definite effort to concentrate on the state and local level there is a better chance of a response. My experience has been that local police chiefs don't like to be bombarded from all over the place. You know what runs down hill and that is what we want!

Does anyone know how to order ping records? I think if we got Gina and Michaels cell records for Feb 15-18 we might get some good clues as to where she went.

Hi GiGi,
I think that LE has to order the ping records, but it sure wouldn't hurt to have the family contact the cell phone provider and find out. From what I understand, usually LE has to issue a search warrant to get them. Wonder if they would consider doing that? Anyone else have any info on this?

In some cases the phone co has given the phone records to the family. I think it just depends on who you talk to at the phone co. Kim could try and get a copy of the phone records and then go on the internet and find out where the towers are that are closest to the phone numbers. It would be easier for LE to get the ping records telling where each phone call was made but if they won't then if I were Kim I would give it a try.
It doesn't sound like LE is going out of their way to solve this case so I wouldn't count on them doing anything. I wonder why that is?

It's absolutely maddening that they have not investigated this case any further. The sheriff's comment to Michael's daughter when she spoke with him was : "You really don't think that little bit of a woman could hurt your big ole dad, do you honey?", gives an indication that they don't plan on investigating much further. :furious::furious::furious::furious:

What is that...a "good ole boy" hickville police department? What an idoit that sheriff is. That "little bit of a woman" might not look like she could do any damage to anyone but has the idoit read her history???? He probably sits at his desk all day with his feet up eating doughnuts. Sounds worthless to me.
Where is the wife now...do you know? Is she back living in their home? If the idoit sheriff had taken a look at the parts from the truck that were replaced he probably could have told if the truck had hit a person or an object. There cold have been hair, blood, or tissue under the lip of the wrecked parts. It sounds like the sheriff's office could care less. I just don't get it at all.
Did the wife tell the sheriff that her husband just took off? She must have really layed it on!

Actually, I can't take credit for it! I am very familiar with the radio shows that Susan Murphy Milano and Levi Page are doing and they are quite interesting and informative especially about cases that may not get mainstream media attention.
They also have great guests like Wendy Murphy, Stacy Dittrich, Robin Sax and others. Susan, Robin and Stacy have formed a new organization called Justice Interrupted which is going to be excellent help for a lot of people.

I have Barb to thank for sending me the justiceinterrupted link and that's how I got in touch with Susan. The LE does have cell records and are not telling us much other than Gina was where she said she was and that Michael has not sent or rec'd a call on his phone since Feb. 12th. Believe me, we called those cell phone companies long ago and tried to get info. It's protected like Fort Knox! The truck was never completely processed and the parts were not recovered. I have been informed that the truck was ok'd to be released back to the man who took ownership in Mo. I think it is reasonable to believe that any evidence that may have been on or in the truck is gone.

Kim,
There could still be evidence. It's very hard to get rid of all of it. Minute traces will stay around in teeny tiny cracks and crevices. One day maybe the detectives will go over it with a fine tooth comb. Maybe soon.
I sent letters and emails, will keep on sending them every week until somebody does something!
On Tuesday, Sept 2nd, we have local elections and I am going to cast a vote against Navajo County Sheriff Gary Butler
You don't think this little ole' woman would do that to that big ole' guy do you honey? :woohoo:Damn right I will !

Just listened to the scared monkeys radio show. You did a great job Kim. The seeming lack of concern not only for a human life, Michael's, but for the sense of duty to uphold law and protect community by that particular branch of law enforcement is appalling!
I'll have to go back and read again but I'm curious as to the position the FBI takes regarding this case. It's quite apparent that state lines were crossed by the vehicle and the wife herself says he left AZ and was in Missouri -- considering Michael's vanished wouldn't that merit FBI involvement... just a little, at least at this point. (A little exasperation there.)
Not that I think it would lead to anything other than to point out the phone calls went unanswered but you stated his employer phoned him several times ... was this to a home phone, a cell phone, or perhaps both?
I'm hoping for movement on this for you and your family - stay strong!

Hello, Websleuthers. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. I am constantly talking to people about Michael and my goal is to keep his name in front of the public and on the minds of those in positions of authority. I will not stop until my brother is found and justice is served. Please check out the latest article on Michael's disappearance. The Western Watchmen is a new publication covering the White Mountain area in and around Snowflake. The reporter that did this latest article carefully interviewed my family and is not afraid to print the whole truth. I am grateful to her for keeping Michael's name in print. There is a follow up article due out this week. There will be a search on Nov. 9th and she will be present and report on that as well. Please read her articles online and give Karen your feedback. I appreciate your feedback so much. It lets the media know there is still interest in this case and they will continue to report on it. With your help and support, the truth will be uncovered one day.

Oh, if Michael had just never met her! What I just refuse to understand is this: "... he is going on the assumption that Michael is still alive and doesn’t want to be found." Ok, let's say someone doesn't want to be found.... but so what, you find them, you see they are alive, you say ok, we don't understand you wanting to go into hiding but that's your prerogative, thank you and bye. Hi motherducky :-) Yea that assuming is a dangerous game at times. You know, it seems to me I just saw something on tv (a show new to me but probably not new) about a lady who did indeed appear to have gone missing... and she had... but she had chosen to. The one I'm thinking of was found in an out-of-state hospital where she had checked herself in. It does happen. But at least LE went the distance to find that info out.

Good article - very glad to see it! I will be emailing Mr. Gonzalez to encourage follow-ups on this. Didn't she come back to AZ in a van (having gotten rid of Michael's truck)? Wonder if she realized it would end up being her home?! As transient as that could be... at least it's noted and somebody is keeping tabs on her!

Kim,
I just wanted to stop in a post to say that Michael and your family is in my prayers. I'm sure this is a difficult time as the one year mark is fast approaching.
I searched just now to see if there was anything new to be found on the net and came up empty.
I just wrote to Nathan Gonzalez at the Arizona Republic asking that something be written about Michael's disappearance. I wrote him back in December and he was kind enough to reply. I hope their interest has not waned.
If anyone else would like to write to Mr. Gonzalez to show interest and support, his public email is: nathan.gonzalez@arizonarepublic.com

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Indeed, this is proving to be a difficult time for my family. It feels as if there has been no progress in the past year, but there are small steps toward justice. I have contacted Nathan Gonzales asking for an anniversary article as well as Gary Grado from the Mesa Tribune. Neither have responded and I am not sure if they will carry an article on this important date or not. I'm certain your email or calls could help persuade them. There will be a couple of articles and I will link them on Michael's website as soon as they are out. I am still trying to get Michael's DNA profile processed and recorded in the national database. I am also trying to get him listed on NAMUS. I am told everyone is backed up these days and that is why it is taking so long to get anything started. Well...it's been a year! We all need to keep contacting our congressmen and law offices to make them more aware of the need for acceptable and enforced proceedures that are mandatory, not optional in the search for loved ones who are missing and the processing and recording of unidentified bodies. We have so far yet to go!
Never giving up the fight...Kim

Im sorry if this has been posted before , but I just came across this missing persons case and my immediate reaction was "she did it"
Initially I thought it was a missing couple and then upon further googling and coming across here , I see that she is in fact NOT missing Just the Husband Michael
Havent people heard of DIVORCE!
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2008/11/25/20081125mr-missing1128.html
"There are so many thoughts that have gone through our minds," said Christina, 26. Her family believes her father's disappearance from his rural Snowflake cabin Feb. 15 is an act of foul play, and believe his wife, Gina Tapley, could have answers.
Navajo County Sheriff's authorities are convinced Gina hasn't been entirely truthful about her husband's disappearance, but have little evidence to proceed with charges, Deputy Commander K.C. Clark said. Gina now lives in a van in a Gilbert parking lot and works for a shipping and receiving company. She declined to be interviewed for this story when reached by phone.
Navajo and Coconino County investigators have searched by air and ground, using cadaver dogs and even a psychic, but the trail has gone cold.
"It's definitely like the guy just fell off the face of the earth," Clark said. "In today's world, with surveillance cameras, it's hard to do that without being found."
And this snipped also
n an interview in March, she told investigators she and her husband drove to Missouri to visit her hospitalized mother.
Gina stated she dropped her husband off at the Isle of Capris Casino in Kansas City, Mo., but when she returned he was nowhere to be found. Surveillance footage from the casino turned up no sign that Michael was ever there, Clark said.
On Feb. 25, ownership of Michael Tapley's truck was signed over to an Adrian, Mo., man. Gina claimed her husband instructed her to sell the truck because it required repairs and they were being harassed by bill collectors.
The note signing over ownership of the truck was signed "Mike Tapley," Shirley Tapley said, but she said he always signed documents and letters Michael A. Tapley.
An initial analysis of the note by Missouri police was inconclusive, Stevens said. Navajo County officials are in the process of conducting another test.
But those who recalled coming into contact with Gina told police they never saw Michael, Stevens said.
"We can't prove or disprove what she's telling us," the detective said.
Gina successfully passed a voice stress analysis test by investigators, who remain unclear if she had a role in her husband's disappearance.
Given Michael and Gina Tapley's rocky marriage and that bill collectors were calling, Stevens said it is possible Michael simply vanished on his own.
"There are a lot of indications for me that he could have walked away from everything," Stevens said.
Shirley Tapley said that's unlikely and believes Gina may have carried through on previous threats to harm her son. In 2005, Michael received a protection order against his wife, who he claimed assaulted and "repeatedly threatened to shoot" him, according to court documents.
The couple later reconciled.
I don't believe he just upped and walked away either.
So what are the "lot of indications" that this Stevens Fellow said ???
If a person has been up on domestic issues with their spouse they would be the FIRST person to be looked at if it were the MALE up on the Domestic Issues.
Why aren't these Detectives and so forth looking harder at her and pulling her in for more interviews and polygraphs and things ?
Kim I am very sorry that you and your family have been going through this , have you or your mother or Christine tried to contact Gina in any way ?

According to this Michael was reported missing 18th Feb by Co worker , when Gina got in touch with Le after being missing for some 24 days as well (apparently!) she told them he just upped and left on the 20th Feb
Yeah right !
She claimed Michale impulsively left home on the 20th feb
But then it states that she and he were visiting her relatives in Missouri and that she dropped him off at the casino and when she went back to pick him up he wasnt there
So which was it
I think she disappeared for those some 3 weeks to dispose of the body so no evidence was left and to ensure that nothing was left on her GSR DNA BLOOD etc..
And to clean down the truck and destroy whatever else
My heart goes out to Kim and her family and I hope that 2009 will bring you the justice you deserve for Michael

Hi Kim and all, anyone know if there has been any word on the handwriting analysis of the note that supposedly was written and signed by Michael for signing over title to his truck?
Admittedly, the crud of this world is getting to me lately, and I can't wait for it to be proven not to be Michael's handwriting. I might go so far as to say I'd be a bit giddy if it was proven to be Gina's. Anyone know if when handwriting is purposely made to look like anothers it can be proven to actually belong to the deceptive one... did that make sense? (If Gina wrote the note but attempted to make it appear to be Michael's handwriting can it be proven it was Gina's attempt due to signatures in her normal handwriting... or can analysis only prove it is or is not someone's handwriting?)
Hope one of those made sense, lol.

Hoppy)

Hi there, I followed a link from ArizonaGigi's signature on a post she had written in a Sandra Cantu thread. That tragedy has left me feeling helpless and wishing that I could do something here at Websleuth's that maybe requires more "doing" :). I'm here in Phoenix and if I'm not mistaken I believe that I saw an article about your father. I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this, that you all have not given up on your dad tells me that he is loved greatly. I hope that your faithful perseverance touches him in someway. The pain of losing a loved one, as I have, cuts deep. When a loved is missing it would seem that the pain persists in a different way, especially if the search for them is maintained. The loss cannot be grieved because hope is so vital to the efforts. I admire your courage to endure this.
I am shocked by LE's response to this. As I reading through the articles I have many, many questions in my head that LE could have easily followed up on. My hope is that they did and the findings are being withheld from the public, although that doesn't seem likely. I was also wondering if there were other media publications I was thinking of that may help if contacted. Is there a particular tone that you would like me to take with the letters? For some of the publications I'd like to include some of the questions I have and would like to see follow up with but I don't know if that would be too pushy. Should I seem mostly interested, more direct, insistent...? Of course we have a new governor, has she given any response?
Anyway, I hope I won't need these questions answered and that your father has been found since that last posting on this thread.

A little bit of a woman could hurt someone with a big truck! IMO, Michael may have been run over with his own truck. After all, previous information has show that the bumper and tires were missing.
That sheriff didn't want his election to be hurt by this case. Why? As it turned out, he didn't win. Maybe the fact that he didn't investigate led to his loss. Maybe he didn't want to investigate because he liked Mrs. Tapley. A. Little. Too. Much. Just my thought and opinion!
This is interesting. I found this little video narrated by Gary Butler. I believe it was made before Michael Tapley went missing. Butler stated that their search and rescue group had never failed to locate anyone that was missing. What about Michael Tapley? He was/is missing. I guess he was the first, ex-sheriff Butler.
