I don't think that the image the NCMEC has looks anything like her - her face looks too long, her eyebrows look too close together, and even her chin looks bigger/longer. Do you guys think this is a good example of what she might've looked like??

I wonder if I could get artist at GBI to do one? She is REALLY good. We just would have to get investigating LE to write GBI asking for assistance w/case and then the artist can help out. I will add this to my questions for our next call to ask about if they would consider it.

Wow, great work everyone! I find it amazing that so many girls have features that are so close. It really is hard to pinpoint anything really unique about any of them.

OT: Stephanie Benton looks just like this girl that stayed with me for a while back in 1997. She was dating a black guy that was friend of mine and claimed that her mother had put her out because of it. I was 17 and she was around my age or a little younger maybe. I am going to see if I can dig up her picture. I think I still have one of them together.

I think that MJD has a distinctive nose and jaw line-one of the questions i had was if her nose was broken however with the fall....because of it's slant. I recall that because of the roadrash, somewhat superficial scars on her body would have been obliterated for ID purposes, but I can't figure out why her head and face did not take more of a beating...am i making sense? I think that the fall needs to be reconstructed with speed etc...

I read a correspondence from Mom regarding that very subject, and it was clear that she had not looked at the photo's...perhaps from fear? This was a recent one-so did you guys check in with her a while ago when she might have actually checked it out?

I don't think the drawn sketches of JD are very good at all because I do not think they even resemble her If you use those to try and find out who she is you won't be able to because the girl in the real pictures and the other ones do not look alike at all. IMO

Wow - I can really see a resemblance with Danyel! She was blond, but most likely her hair color would have changed as she got older. Wow, if MJD was her - or another little girl gone missing at such a young age, I fear we will never be able to ID her! What if he sold her or gave her away? Whoever had her would not step forward in a million years. Unless they called it in anonymously.....that could happen! Right?

When I sent in Danyel as a possible match (a while ago) from the response I got from Suzi was that it may be possible that the road rash could have hid a scar on her knee. She stated that Danyel had not be investigated and she would send this information on to the investigating team. Since then, there hasn't been any information on if she was ruled out due to obvious physical differences or if she was checked in anyway. I will send an email to Suzi again in the near future checking on this.

I think at this point we totally have no idea what her natural color was. It looks like she had it died so many times. In the hospital pic she appears to have blonde and even grey roots.....I think she could have any color hair! :waitasec:

She has blood mixed in with her hair. It is in several areas....around the neck close to the vent and at the top etc. They don't get the blood out during emergency procedures. She also has some swelling due to the accident that gives her a different appearance than the photo of her at death.

Yeah. It looks like they photoshopped a lot of it. Like the hole on the right side of her head has been edited out, and they moved her hair over the area that was shaved before snapping a photo. She really does look more "angelic" than most morgue photos I've seen..

73 - the brown thing in the back seat is the corner of large brown folding garment bag. Another photo (19730022) shows the whole thing.

I think the marks on her forehead are stains. They follow the same pattern as that brown gunk they have on her in the hospital photos.

I could see a similarity with a butterfly, but homemade tattoos, which this one looks like, depending on how they're done will come out with weird imperfections. My friend used a needle, thread, and indian ink and hand 'stabbed' another friends' tattoo into his skin. The speed at which you 'stab' the ink into them can result in weird details.

Regarding the drivers license.. I'm thinking it's LDJ's because if it was MJD's she would not be a UID.

Yeah. Like that. I could see it just as soon as he said it. I really think he might be right about it. I mean dang...even a jailhouse tat of a heart isn't usually that off balance. But it DOES look like a butterfly now that he pointed it out. The thing is, I've combed thousands of missing girls, and I've disregarded anyone who was listed with other kinds of tattoos, because I just knew she only had that little heart.

It is a very odd pic. No seat in front of the wheel just the cloth looking thing with what could be blood. However, until this is a verfied pic of the actual car I have hesitation.

The photos that I trust are the morgue pics and the hospital pics which are truly the same person with a different set of circumstances. Being pre and post mortem.

This child belongs to someone and is a child of the universe. Something very bad happened to her and the fact that she is not identified after all this is very disturbing. Very.

That's why I was wondering if there was something interesting to see on the photo of the box that maybe I was missing. Guess not.

It looks to me like it was a cover up. Maybe she had some initials and didn't want them any more (broke up with the guy?) and tried to cover it up with a butterfly heart. The horizontal line at the bottom looks like maybe an L and the right side of the heart/butterfly is so razor sharp it's unnatural. I'm thinking she tried to cover up initials cause it really doesn't even look like a butterfly OR a heart.

ITA, especially the morgue pic with the board next to her face, you can sorta see where the wounds were, but they are blurred out. the other morgue photo, the whole picture is a little blurred so you really can't see where the wounds were.

As a Las Vegan - I have to weigh in here!!! Prostitution is NOT legal in Las Vegas - or anywhere else in Clark County. The legal brothels are located in Nye County or further north.

FWIW: The ash tray pic has butts from Newport cigarettes in it. Looks like Newport 100s. I used to smoke them but switched to Winston Lights a few years ago and quit entirely 2 years ago. From the position of the butts in the ashtray, I'd say LDJ is a cigarette smoker. She also may have been smoking the cigarettes to try clearing the air of the weed smell.

I don't know how or if this helps, but I wanted to put it out there... lol.

I think that was me, and you did an EXCELLENT JOB, I think this really shows how she looked......except for the swelling of the lips, BUT I think YOU DID GREAT

This picture just shows how STUPID Alonzo is he had 20 miles to get rid of stuff and he still has his Joint placed nicely and blatantly in the ashtray. In full view of the police, was he busy getting rid of other things and overlooked getting rid of the weed. Of maybe the weed has effected his judgement and he is a "slow"
