Sounds like they're defense is that the victim asked them to do it ... although after the victim was interviewed, they backed off on that excuse.

He's joining the army yet dislikes war. Where did he expect they would send him to?

Yes he does sound like an idiot, you are right. I wonder how the 2 even passed the MMPI test.
Vergennes is only about 18 minutes or less from Middlebury.
