The search continues for a Chandler man who vanished last week, apparently while driving home from Flagstaff, authorities said Wednesday.

On Saturday, the vehicle of James Allen Martinson, 37, was discovered off Interstate 17 at the Stoneman Lake exit about 17 miles north of Camp Verde, said Dwight D'Evelyn, a spokesman for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle, a dark green Nissan Pathfinder with Arizona plates, contained some of Martinson's personal property, including his wallet and cell phone, D'Evelyn said.

A hiker has found the body of a Chandler man who vanished earlier this year on a trip home from Flagstaff, according to Yavapai County authorities.

The body of James Allen Martinson, 37, was discovered Friday at an area adjacent to a trail near Stoneman Lake Road, less than a mile from Interstate 17 and about 15 miles north of Camp Verde.
