Maryland State Police in Hagerstown are looking for a resident of the San Mar Children’s Home in Boonsboro.
Michelle Mills, 16, of Hagerstown, did not return to the home Sunday after going home for a weekend leave, police said. Michelle was staying with her parents when she convinced a neighbor to drive her to Francis Scott Key Mall and give her his cell phone to call her boyfriend.
When she did not return to the neighbor’s vehicle, he went inside the mall to look for her, but did not find her, police said.
Police believe she could be headed for Silver Spring to meet her boyfriend, known only as “Douglas.”
Michelle is white, about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 230 pounds. She has straight, blond, shoulder-length hair, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red tank top, a white sweatshirt type jacket and flip flops.
Anyone with information should call state police in Hagerstown at 301-739-2101.
The San Mar Children’s Home provides care to about 20 adolescent and preadolescent girls who have experienced the traumas of abuse, molestation, and general family dysfunction, according to its website.
