(AP) A Rock Island man whose car was hit as he tried to make a left turn into his driveway saw his home going up in flames as he was airlifted to the hospital. Whoa. See, stuff like that is what makes me feel bad when I complain. That's a sin.

It'll be a long time before I complain about anything in my life.

Talk about bad luck.
Was it really bad luck? Sounds like he caused the accident by turning in front of an oncoming car. I'm sorry for him and his wife about the fire but IMO he should consider himself lucky he didn't get himself killed.

I have a girlfriend like this. If there was a bolt of lightening, it's sure to hit her in the head.

Perhaps this should be his theme song:
GLOOM, DESPAIR AND AGONY ON ME
From the TV Show "Hee-Haw" (1969 -1992)
Buck Owens & Roy Clark
Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me
We figured she was rich, loaded to the hilt
And we figured she had class like the Vanderbilts
'Cause we had heard for years how she was so well reared
How was we to know they meant the way she was built
Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me
(Giggle--It's the first thing that crossed my mind upon hearing his story!)

On the upside, the insurance should cover his house because it wasn't arson.

That is providing he has insurance on his home and his vehicle...if not...his luck just got a bit worse.
