Statement from nurse:
Although he has amnesia and cannot recall much factual data, he appears to have many memories of Indiana in general and Indianapolis as well. He also has memories of Colorado.

From Believe09:
he believes he has 3 brothers; that the name Benjaman has an association to himself; that he fell off a loading dock and had skin grafts taken from his arm to rebuild a finger as a result; that he had cervical spine surgery at some point; he is familiar with electrical construction, wiring etc; he is familiar with restaurant layouts and building codes; he loves crossword puzzles and is very good at them.

Benjaman stated in an interview that when he looked into the mirror he seemed to think that he lost 20 years. He may have a very vague memory of being 15-25 years younger. This doesn't necessarily mean that he developed amnesia at that time. He could have developed it more recently, but instead vaguely remembers certain things from long ago.

Hi Everyone-I received a tip today that Benjaman may have attended University of Denver or Boulder in Colorado, and that there is a chance his DOB is close to 1948. No information still on name or even major. Does anyone want to take this and run with it...even trying to see if we can get any year books? I am in the middle of a couple weeks of insanity, so I cannot run with this one by myself. His build is pretty athletic, so it might be worthwhile to see if they had football or wrestling-we would be looking at a graduation date of around 1968 or 1969 I would think...
Thoughts?

I found the alumni coordinator for the University of Denver class of 1968. They just had their reunion in March. I am emailing her with a picture of BK and asking if she recognizes him and if she could forward his pic to other alumni to see if anyone else recognizes him. Wish me luck!

A jury yesterday awarded more than $1 million to a Lexington man whose hand was crushed in a conveyor belt while he was working at the Herald-Leader. The jury determined that the manufacturer of the conveyor belt, IDAB Inc., was responsible for Timothy R. DeRossette's injury. DeRossette worked on the newspaper's loading dock, where bundles of newspapers are put into trucks. On Oct. 2, 1989, DeRossette was removing newspaper bundles from the conveyor when his left

I haven't cross checked all the eliminated matches, but his pictures on doe seem to be an almost perfect match to Benjamin Kyle Professor Emeritus in Chemical Engineering at Kansas State University. His phone number there is 785-532-5584. His e-mail is bgkyle@ksu.edu and his web site is listed as http://www.che.sku.edu/~bgkyle/

Excellent find, NJ! While I don't think he would still be listed on their website, if it was actually BK..it could be his brother. There is a resemblance and it would make sense that BK remembered the name.

NJshrink, from your post I am assuming that you saw Benjaman Kyle's pics. Since the website you listed is no longer good I am wondering how you saw the pic of Professor Benjamin Kyle, Emeritus. If you have access to or can post a link to a pic of the professor, I would be most grateful. Thank you:).

Thank you SS:blowkiss:.
I think there is a possibility that the two may be related, but I doubt strongly that this could be Benjaman. I would look into it mainly because Benjaman may have chosen his name for a reason and there may be a hint of resemblance to each other. Perhaps there is a remote possibility that they are related. This is just my take on it:).

Alot of info here...this was in an email we rec'd from BK.
Mama Elena's is or was on East Colfax. The building was next to a Taco Bell and built of the same brick that they used to use for Taco Bells.. I always thought the building might have been built as a headquartres building for a Taco Bell Franchisee or a regional Headquartres for Taco Bell itself.
Mama Elena"s lad the best "mexican" food in Denver. They said everything was prepared fresh daily and I believe it. It tasted like it. Th ey said their cuisine derived from the French when France ruled Mexico for a few years through a puppet emperor.
Near the corner of Colfax and Colorado were two coffee shops [now termed "family restaurants" as opposed to Starbucks which I don't believe even existed then] Azar's Big Boy and White Spot.I see by satellite pictures that neither building exists any longer.
Azars did have a great buffet, but lousy service. White Spot was great for bar rush but usually only had one cook on duty so it took a long time to get your food. Azar's always seemed to have plenty of staff on duty but they seemed more interested in talking to each other than waiting on customers. There was another White Spot closer to the State Capital on Colfax That was frequently called the Gay Spot instead of the White Spot. Both chains are now out of business, at least I can not find them anywhere in the internet.
The Normandy was on Colfax at Monroe Street [I think]. Their parking lot fronted Colfax and the building fronted a side street. It was very High End [expensive]. It had originally been located futher east on Colfax, again, itn an old house on the corner. After they moved another French Restaurant took over the building and made a success of it [ Tante Louise? ].
Down the street from Colorado Boulevard, west, toward the Capital Building, there was a old Sambo's building which was occupied by several restaurants at one time or another but none of them ever seemed to make a success of it. across the street from the Sambo's was an old Red Barn restaurant building that became an antique store. I think it is still in business.
Across from East High School was a Kentucky Fried Chicken clone whose name I do not remember.Just east of the chicken place was an Arthur Treachers Fish & Chips.
Somewhere on East Colfax, near the Park Avenue intersection was Mountain Man Pizza [I think I have the name right]. They had gotten several awards for having the best pizza in Denver, in my humble opinion it was the best in Colorado. They also had a store in Steamboat Springs. They had a salad bar set up in an old cast iron bathtub just inside the door.
I recognize several of the restaurants mentioned in your E-mail to Ms. Slater. Westworld used to publish these awards every year. I think they made up some category's just so their advertisers could win something.

From the email - I think it would be fair to say he spent some time in Denver. Or am I only repeating the obvious?
So.... given that he knows these restraunts so well - did he work in the area? Someone working in the area would frequent different places during lunchtime.
If anyone has access to Denver newspaper archieves, it might be possible to figure out when the White Spot and the Big Boy went out of business and when the one restraunt was turned into an antique store. This could give us a bit of a timeframe. BK says he remembers when the antique store went in.
There is also a high school that he talks about. I wonder if he went to high school there and he was in the area during his late teens, before heading off to college? I just say this because he seems to remember the high school, and high schoolers would also frequent nearby restraunts and would definitely notice which ones were too expensive.

If someone from the Denver area could contact one of the current restaurant owners or other business owners in that area, I'm sure they might be able to give some sort of a time frame for the combination of restaurants which are recalled. Also if there is any business in that area that has been in existence for a long period of time, that owner might be most helpful. This extensive listing of places seems to indicate someone who ate out OFTEN in that area, or someone who had some type of business that required him to visit these places. (Health inspector, linen service, supply sales, etc. ????)

I don't know how to create a link, sorry, but this is a real estate website that has an article about restaurants and the popularity of the Colfax street area in Denver. From the picture of Larry Hotz on the site, he seems to be about the same age as Mr. Kyle is thought to be, so if someone wanted to contact him and send an email regarding this case, he might be helpful. The article is about the Colfax area being referred to as "Cool-fax" and was written by Elizabeth Hotz from the same real estate firm.

Sure seems Mr. Kyle has a lot of specific memories about Denver - I can't believe that's a coincidence! I've been reading up on the history of Colfax Avenue - and there's quite a lot of information out there. Seems the avenue has seen better days. I'm posting a link to an article that explains this historic avenue and provides a great timeline for how it has evolved through the years. May help us narrow down when Mr. Kyle was in that area. Two things about his memories; when did Taco Bells start popping up? And, I know it's been stated that he seems to have a good deal of knowledge about restaurants - possibly building or engineering. But maybe he was a food critic or a restaurant building inspector???? IDK - but here's the article!

Could anyone contact Taco Bell and ask? To contact them via their website you need a US adress.
I don't know how the system is in US, but in Denmark you need to registre your company, and those information are keept for years even after the business is closed. If you have those kind of information, maybe it is possible to find former owners of restaurantes and businesses in the area.

If he was in Denver in 1997/98, a search of the Denver paper archives might be useful for those years.
Also, getting a phone number for the antique store and finding out when it started business might be helpful.
Contacting the Larry Holtz guy in Reann's post above may prove very helpful, especially if he likes to talk.
I know we have case managers for BK. Could I ask one of them to explain what we posters can do on our own without messing up anything they are working on? I know it is best to have only one or two people do contacts so that we don't overwhelm anyone. I would be more than willing to send an email to the Realtor guy, but I don't want to get in anyone's way. Let me know and I will either contact or not contact depending upon the reply :)

I am a very newbie here- and this is my first time posting. Fascinating story and so sad that the case has not been solved. Please allow my observations and ideas from "new eyes" on the case. My first thought was- wow, this guy looks like my Dad. (It is not, my Dad is living with my Mom). They do have many similarities- for one, my Dad has always been told he looked like Gerald McRaney! I believe they may be similar in age- DOB around 1940. His musculature and physical attributes- similar to my Dad who worked in construction/building. His knowledge of electrical work and restaurants- maybe he worked in building them. Does his skin look weathered- like he may have worked outside in the sun?? How about his hands- are they smooth and soft or rough and scarred like a man who has physically worked with his hands for a living? As for the name Benjamen- my thought is maybe that is the name of his son- not of himself. Maybe he remembers the name of his most dear loved one- even if it is someone who he has not seen in a while. For, if he had a family- a wife, girlfriend or grown children- surely they would be frantically looking for their lost loved one. It seems like someone would have discovered him by now. My observations- but maybe some new ideas.

Welcome Aimee - great to have a new pair of eyes here!
My memory isn't what it used to be (along with many of my body parts!), but I remember Taco Bell from long before the 90's. I would venture to say late 70's even. With that said, the reason I'm focusing on this point is because Colfax Avenue appears to have transformed significantly over the years. From what I have read, it began as a truly wonderful and major thoroughfare and has degenerated into a hangout for hookers, pimps, homeless and other less than ideal citizens. Benjaman's memories of it seem to be centered around restaurants and that may make it easier to pinpoint the timeframe during which he was in the area. Judging from what I found on Colfax on-line, I'm certain the Denver area libraries would have more in-depth historical accounts. But I'm not in Denver!

Ok I have found some very intreging connections with the Big Boy
based on what I have found the AZARS big boy was in COLORADO and INDIANA, they were a Big Boy franchise it appears the ONLY 2 states that have AZARS franchinses or DID is Indiana (fort Wayne( might stil be open and Colorado.
Also, based on other research the SAME arcitects that built the Denver Azars Big Boy also built a Big Boy in Indianapolis strange huh?/

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie to websleuths though I have lurked for years. I did some digging around this evening based on the email in this thread from BK. Here's what I found:
1969 - 1984 Sambo’s open and active in Denver
http://www.santabarbara.com/Dining/review_read.asp?pk_restaurant=773
Which means, if he is referring to the "old Sambo's", it would have to be after 1984. However, for him to remember that it was originally a Sambo's, he would have had to have seen it close (perhaps ate there before it closed). Therefore, 1984 or earlier.
Next, the infamous Red Barn/antique store:
Old Red Barn now a Starbucks
Location according to Red Barn memory website is 2975 E Colfax Ave Denver, CO
http://www.barnbuster.net/barnsgonebye12.html
Street view on google maps estimates the address at around 2914 E Colfax Ave Denver, CO (if you'd like to take a look - can not tell what is across the street that he claimed had been many unsuccessful restaurants)
Opened(?) Or was active on April 23, 1969. (Source barnbuster.net)
Closed at the latest in 1986, as that is the year the final leases on Red Barn Stores were terminated.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Barn
This is directly from the notes that I took while I was researching, so I mostly just stated the fact and source, just like high school report data.
Based on what I found above, I theorize that BK was active in Denver in the mid 80's to early 90's.

Still, it's a race against the wrecking ball. Once there were eight White Spot coffee shops in Denver, classic Googie landmarks, but the last one in operation was demolished a few years ago.

I searched for a Mama Elenas in Denver, but could not find one. There is a Mamas Cafe on Colfax, and a Maria Elenas Mexican restaurant in Lakewood, a few blocks away from Colfax. One restaurant review site states that they have been open for more than 23 years. Is there anyone local that could go into Maria Elenas with BKs picture and ask if the owner recognizes him? They might not know his name, but might remember that he came in with a "blond" or "brunette" who was a wife or girlfriend?

Is there any audio available of BK that doesn't have a newscaster talking over him? I would love to do speech reversals on him. The only audio I have has the reporters talking over him and that makes it way too hard to hear him.
The whole reverse speech thing may be a longshot but you never know, something positive could come out of it.

Welcome to WS-I am not aware of any audio that is in the public domain of just him currently.
To be candid, I find the science reverse speech is based on extremely suspect-we have occasionally had proponents bring their analysis here on high profile cases and while it causes interesting debate, none of it has panned out as far as I can see. JMHO.

My fiance used to live on Colfax from about 1998-2005. I will asked him about some of these landmarks and see if he recalls anything. He used to work in a restaraunt on Colfax - Bucco Di Beppo(I think).

This is a good idea, any of the older resturaunts in the area, someone could go by with a flyer and ask if anyone recognizes him, or some resturaunts have faxes, we could fax flyers to them????

Greetings all,
This is my first post at WS - like many others, long-time reader/lurker coming out of the shadows!
When I read Mr. Kyle's memories it stood out to me his spelling of the word headquarters. He spelled it twice "headquartres". Not sure if it means anything at all, of course, but perhaps it leans toward a long love of English literature or something regarding education. Another thing that stood out to me very quickly was his mention of Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips. Not an extremely common franchise and certainly one that doesn't (perhaps has never) appear on every street corner. Has it been verified that there was ever an ATF&C's location in Colorado or more precisely the location of other investigated businesses? In their "heyday" there were less than 1000 total ATF&C's locations - seems like a big number until you consider the size of the country and limited online resources indicating most ATF&C's locations to have been mostly on the east coast, not much further west than the mid-west, and not too far into the south. I've tried but found nothing indicating an ATF&C's in Colorado, ever.
Kudos to WS & all you concerned & dedicated websleuthers,

Another newbie here!
I have been researching Mr Kyle's memories of E Colfax in Denver and here are a few findings -
Tante Louise appears to have started business around 1972. They won many years of Westword's (not Westworld) "best of" awards. One blurb in 2002 mentions that Tante Louise is over 30 years old -
http://www.westword.com/bestof/2002/award/best-french-restaurant-39199/
It appears that if Mr Kyle remembers the beginning of Tante Louise, he had to have been in Denver in the early 70's.
The Normandy was at E Colfax and Madison. Monroe is one street over.
I found mention of Mama Elena's on Westword's Best Of as well as White Spot and Azars Big Boy. Unfortunately, I can only find these best of lists back to 1984, so I do not know if they had them prior to that.
Westword appears to have started publication in 1977 and was bought by the NY Times in 1983. If Mr Kyle remembers this paper, he would have been there in the late 70's forward.
http://www.westword.com/about/index
Only other thing I found is a Jose Luis Martinez worked at Mama Elena's in 1981 and 1982. He has a profile at Classmates.com. I do not have a membership at classmates, but perhaps someone who does could email him for info on others who might have worked there? Or who might have owned the restaurant?
And lastly, Mr Kyle, if you are reading this, here is a link to an interesting blog about 60's and 70's pop culture in Denver. I noticed many memories posted are from the 80's, too. You might read through and see what else you might remember. I also posted a link to your youtube video there to see if anyone remembered you.

I feel Mr Kyle's memories very firmly place him in Denver in the 70's. His memories are numerous and correct without being exactly perfect (which would demonstrate that the memories could have been read recently).
Since these memories could be dissected and researched and place him in Denver during a specific time period, it might be beneficial to know more details of his memories of Indianapolis. Perhaps we could use these memories to place him in Indianapolis during a specific time period. If the memories turn out to be more recent (80's or 90's), I feel we would be a step closer to his identity.
Any chance of hearing the Indianapolis memories?

Being a person who seems to have had schooling/education
I figured he had been on a plane and travelled a lot?
that would account for his being in a strange city and being mugged?
I was wondering why nobody from any hotel ever came forward yet?
Surely he was staying someplace ?
If he were homeless, I wondered why a shelter hadn't come forward as well?
Also it had crossed my mind that he may have been a kidnapped person from many years ago?
I even considered a baby?
Somebody could have stolen him as an infant?
And that is why he is so vague?
His memory of course due to amnesia would only be fragments of memory.
He has had several scars mentioned too...
yet no dr. or anybody has come forward?
Maybe Dr PHIL will open this up...to those who have not seen this man yet?
many people never watch tv
never read magazines
And no offense, but some people can't read...
and if he was from a non- english speaking country but retained the english language well
that would be another avenue to follow as well?
I have as i said followed this case since i first heard about it.
I think I may have seen it in Doe?
First then looked up stuff?

I looked and saw BENJAMIN KYLE as in relation to the info on WIPIKEDIA
relating to a SCI-FI Show.
Also a police officer from the 1950s
so had he heard or read about anybody with that name real or fictional he may have then used the Burger King as his initials but remembered those names from something he may have read?

some possible other avenues to explore in relation to the foodservice/restaurant area.
check w/ food distributors in colorado. this is a tight network everyone knows everyone. if he worked in or was building/designing/setting up new restaurants this would be a good place to start.
contact the national restaurant assoc., maybe they can put out his picture.
most food distribution companies (Sysco, GFS, US Foods etc...)have food shows in the fall, could his picture be put out???

It's possible w/ his knowledge (electrical, i think) that he setup the kitchens, he may have maintained the drinking systems (pop, coffee etc...). Definitely, look into the restaurant equipment end. It's possible he delivered for a distribution company. They get excellent benefits (good teeth), it is quite the work out (good physical shape), and pays fairly well. He could have also been a sales rep, or a vendor rep. Try to tap into Colorado restaurant community. Everyone knows everyone, someone will remember...

mcdraw I can't get the link to work with the photo of the professor.
Can't find a photo of the professor thru google either. You a much better sleuther than I am ! Can you re-post the link?
My husband is from Shreveport Louisiana and he remembers Arthur Treacher fish and chips from 35 years ago. They no longer have any in Shreveport but Benjaman Kyle doesn't have the Louisiana accent. Not even a trace of it.
Also we lived in the Cayman Islands at one time and Benjaman Kyle does not have a trace of the accent from there so I don't believe he is from the Cayman Islands. They have some very strong accents in the Caymans. Hard to understand their English.
From watching him on the show, when he said that he went to Georgia to see the ocean, I got the feeling that he was dealing with something very traumatic at the time he was beaten and left for dead. Perhaps he had a wife or child die and that's why no one has missed him? It seems like there would be other family members that would report him missing but perhaps he got divorced and became homeless afterwards and no one reported him missing because they suspect he is on the streets somewhere. He could have become depressed from a divorce or death in the family and ended up homeless as a result.
He is an educated man and seems like he would have had a white collar type job so he is not the stereotypical homeless person but not all of the homeless are alcoholics and drug addicts.
Ramblin'........ sorry

Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for a while. This is my first post, but I have been fascinated with this case for about a month or so now, particularly since I have lived in the Indianapolis area for my entire life.
Something just FEELS familiar about this guy. I don't know his name, but he just *feels* like someone I've seen before. I am a great deal younger than Mr. Kyle, but I attended Catholic school on the North side of Indianapolis. It's possible I may have seen him at church or at one of the grade schools I played sports at. He is about my dad's age, or a little older. I don't know how much time has elapsed since he was last in Indianapolis (of course it couldn't have been after 2003), but something about this guy just seems...I dunno...like he's someone from my town. His voice and accent seem native to this region, too.
I would like to help in any way possible. From what was said on Dr. Phil, he seems to *know* in some way that he attended Catholic school here in Indy. I do know a great deal about the Catholic community here, so if I can be of any service, I'd love to answer questions or anything.

If BK was injured on a loading dock and then went missing and was later declaired dead, closest of kin would have most likely inherited any settlement from his injuries. The question is would they want him identified now???
Could we search legal inheritance records of missing in his age bracket legally declared dead?

Quoting this post as an example of some of BK's colorado memories. I have some questions.
1)Has anyone posted any fliers about BK in this area? Actually walked in to any of these establishments and inquired how to contact any 'old timers'- people who were around in that era and are still around or a way to contact them? Do we have any members local to that area? Who might be willing to do this if it has not already been done?
2)Has BK had the opportunity to travel to this area himself? Perhaps with the PI Dr. Phils show had working on the case, or another organization who might have the means to finance a week trip for Mr. Kyle, along with someone who is able to give him some real direction in searching. Not his nurse.... she is not a professional investigator... someone who has done this before?
3)Has ANY news media in the denver area picked up this story? with pictures? IT would seem to make sense having BK's story ran in this area would produce some leads... hopefully LOTS of people in CO were watching the DR. Phil show, but with so little mentioned of those memories on the show, not sure anyone from CO would have picked it out to search or inquire...
ETA: It seems to me that with the specialist identifying BK's speech patterns, the show seemed to dismiss any of these very specific Colorado memories based on her eliminating colorado as a possible area of where he could be from. I dont' doubt her expertise, but she is one person and as a science it is not 100% accurate.
4)Does anyone have any LE contacts in Denver? Anyone they can contact and pass along a flyer... someone in LE who might say, oh... I know so and so who owned/managed such and such a restaraunt back then... and could get BK's info into the hands/circle of those who might have known him?
I am not in Colorado, or I would be happy to do this.... just seems to make sense to me... and not sure if it has been done...
I do not believe Mr. Kyle is listed as missing. It's my opinion, that he may have took some time off to visit the ocean(reflect in some way).... and those who have wondered about him either wrote off he decided to stay and rebuild a life for himself in that area, -or- someone has tried to file a missing persons report and ran into brick walls with LE when attempting to get it filed. Would not be the first time we have seen an occurence of difficulty or impossible to file a missing persons report.

Is there any audio available of BK that doesn't have a newscaster talking over him? I would love to do speech reversals on him. The only audio I have has the reporters talking over him and that makes it way too hard to hear him.
The whole reverse speech thing may be a longshot but you never know, something positive could come out of it.
Sorry to be impatient but is anyone going to do this? :)

This one confused me too. I don't recall reading that the professor was missing. My understanding is that he happens to have the same name - or is there more to it than that? It's been a while since I looked at the professor info... could it be that this man was our Benjaman's professor and that is why he was drawn to the name??
cacnotcam, here's the side by side comparison pics for our Benjaman and the professor: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2229531&postcount=35 In case you had not seen it.No one ever thought it was BK! The name is what seemed interesting and thought maybe BK at one time was a student or perhaps even a relative of the professor.

under the physical description thread, he states that one of his scars could have come from falling off a loading dock. combine that with his memories of restaurants, i still think he may have been a driver for a food distribution company.

I just mentioned the Arthur Treachers to my mom and she indicated there was one on the northside of Indianapolis and someone was killed there, in a robbery or something. I also have lived and worked in the Indianapolis Area my entire life I need to print some of the fliers and hang them up around town....We used to have Arthur Treachers in OK, too.

Did anyone follow up with the professor?
I remember Arthur Treachers fish and chips from the Chicagoland area too.
Thinking along the lines of tying down a location... I am big Dick Biondi fan.. he is a DJ in his early 70's who goes back to being the second DJ in the states to play the Beatles. While I am not of his generation, I enjoy his music and oldies and his history is easily traceable. Does Mr. Kyle have any preferences in music? any memories of a local DJ? That might be a clue to trace a specific location.

Websurfer's post tickled my curiosity so I went looking. I did find a Texas Peace Officer's Memorial page with a Benjamin Kyle Smith (DPS) listed, killed in the line of duty 6/23/58, I believe. http://www.pomf.org/memorial/names2007s_t.html
I also came upon this: http://www.mysteryfile.com/blog/index.php?s=homas A review of the book The Scarab Murder Case A Philo Vance Story. I believe it was also made into a film back in the 30's. The murder victim in this story is named "Benjamin H. Kyle". Somewhere in the review I also spotted that "Kyle's nephew" is mentioned but didn't see what his first name may have been. Has anyone brought up this book before and I'm wondering if our Benjaman is a murder mystery fan?
I looked and saw BENJAMIN KYLE as in relation to the info on WIPIKEDIA
relating to a SCI-FI Show.
Also a police officer from the 1950s
so had he heard or read about anybody with that name real or fictional he may have then used the Burger King as his initials but remembered those names from something he may have read?

I just sent out a couple emails (Denver Chamber of Commerce and Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation) with regard to a time frame on the restaurants mentioned in Benjaman's memories.
I'm hoping it will give us a more definite area of time that he could have been in Denver. I'll post back with anything I get as a result.

Sorry to quote myself (I'm not sure how I got this info on two different threads in here...)
Just to keep it current - I did hear back for the Chamber of Commerce and a woman there told me that she could find nothing regarding the Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips (date open/date close) but she did direct me to the Colorado Secretary of State. I sent off another email to their businesses division this afternoon.
I did include all of Benjaman's restaurant memories to both the Chamber and the SOS hoping it might encourage any of the information to be touched on in a reply... but to keep them from feeling inundated I narrowed my questioning down to the one restaurant that captured my attention when I first read his memories.
As always, I'll post whatever I hear in reply.

I was in Denver over the weekend visiting family, we did lots of sightseeing, and I could not stop thinking about BK. I wandered if Believe could ask him if he has any other memories of Denver, places that he may have forgotten, but if asked, may remember. For example-- did he ever go up to Red Rocks to see a concert? Did he ever go to Pikes Peak or Rocky Mountain National Park? Did he ever go skiing at any of the resorts? Each new memory he has may be a new piece of the puzzle. If he saw a concert at Red Rocks, we may be able to place when he was there. I so want him to have his life back--perhaps all he has left is an elderly parent who does not have access to the internet and does not watch Dr. Phil....

I work in PA, but my corporate headquarters is in Indianapolis. I had three guys from my corporate office at my office today, and I showed them BK's picture to see if they knew who he was. I explained to them about his amnesia - the whole story. The one guy that I showed attened Catholic School North of Indy, in a town called Nobelsville he said if BK thinks some of his roots are are the Indy area that someone should distribute flyers to some catholic church liked someone else mentioned in this thread. I just thought I would share that with you all.

I can get Indianapolis emails out to the parish churches, I can get started finding these tomorrow, and have some ready to go out on monday. Just an update also, Denvers emails are almost all out, finish these on monday. There will be 523 that went out. I spaced them out, hoping to get longer coverage, people talking about it, and sending each other emails, hoping to get this in some of the bulletins at the churches too. Boy wouldn't this be great!

Awesome job carolwood! You guys have done so much work here, I am so impressed!
Sending emails to the parish churches is a great idea, as well as sending the emails to the Chamber in Denver. WOW!
Another thought for anyone local to Denver - you can probably research property records on the French restraurant at the assessor's or tax collector's office. In CA we go to the assessor's office, but I'm not sure how it works for CO.
Good, good work!

My bold. Awesome! So glad you posted. Can you send the flyers ( posted here in the flyers link) to your friends who are still in the neighborhood? Maybe they can print and post some on Colfax near the places BK remembers. Perhaps some of the old timers who have been in the area for a few decades will remember him. My apologies for not being able to link you directly to the flyer thread here in BK's forum. I am having computer problems and can not copy links. Maybe someone else can do that for me, pretty please?

Nothing on CO universites at this time. Ask everyone you know. Email the basic information on BK to all your friends. Print off the flyer and post it around. Very soon, date unknown, CO lawmen are doing something to help for BK.

Has anyone from the Jeffco Action Center been contacted? I have looked through many of the threads here and did a search on "Jeffco" and didn't see anything. However, I easily could have missed it with all these pages!
They are located off of Colfax in Lakewood, CO. Here is their mission statement from their website - www.jeffcoac.org: "Jeffco Action Center’s mission is to provide an immediate response to basic human needs and to promote pathways to self-sufficiency. We do this through our continuum of emergency services to families and individuals of Jefferson County."
They have a quarterly newsletter. There are many volunteers and many donors. I'm guessing that some are long-time residents of the area. Maybe they would post some flyers at the Center and their events and consider including a picture and info. in their newsletter.
