The profile you provided me with has a different last name than DeJong, but that could be because she is married, however her status reads "single". I don't know why she wouldn't put "married" if she put "proud parent".

Anyway, this could be the right one. It seems very possible because it sort of fits better than the other girl. Interesting she majored in Criminal Justice. Perhaps she will be willing to help us anyway!

I'm not sure who the right LDJ is. All I know is that the number of Lindsay DeJong's on myspace or facebook are very limited. There aren't many people listed under that name!

Perhaps the Lindsay we are trying to find doesn't have a myspace or a facebook. I wish there was just some way, some how to be 100% sure we had the right girl. I would do anything, as I believe everyone here would, to talk to her about our MJD for just a moment. Any way she wanted, whether it be facebook, myspace, AIM, yahoo, the telephone. Anything.

But she also needs to know that we aren't trying to solve a crime here! (as was stated by Fairy1 before). I think I would react distantly if someone seemed like they were trying to convict me of something. And that's the thing about the Internet, it's hard to detect "emotion" through typing . I am not saying anyone's efforts are/would be misunderstood, but we still don't know how she perceives it (if it even is her).

Depending on her lifestyle, she may not even use the Internet at all. Maybe she doesn't have a computer, or maybe she only uses it to check her email or something. We just don't know.

As for new ideas, I feel as though we've reached a dead end, as much as I hate to say that. :(

Putting her face and story out there is really all I can think of. Would having security clearance make it any easier for me to obtain a PR? Is it even worth getting the PR? It would, at the very least, mention other witnesses, right?

She was abducted as a baby by a non-custodial parent. The approximate birth year/description fits. One of my theories about why no one claimed MJD is that she was abducted by a non-custodial parent as a young child--the parent probably wouldn't want to risk coming forward even if they knew.

I guess it would make sense since her roots were growing out. I wonder if she got her hair/eyebrows done at the same salon. I know we went through all of this before, but I am going to find my Phoenix metro phonebook and check out some salons around the area to see if anyone may recognize her from back then, in case it was routine for her to get her hair/eyebrows done.

I hope they keep records from back then. Maybe I can find some names for people who were recorded in their log from around the time she was found, maybe a few weeks to a few days prior to the time she was found. Maybe ask if a young girl suddenly stopped business there. Highly doubtful they will be able to pull anything up from 9 1/2 years ago, but I guess it's worth a shot.

I guess I would start by asking how long their business has been around. It seems that there should be some kind of business law to keep records for this kind of thing. If not, they should consider it!

It may seem like a needle in a haystack, but that's how cases are solved Vashley88. LE doesn't have time to do this sort of thing. I think it's a good idea, maybe tedious, but a good idea, IMO, FWIW.

If you could get emails of the ones that were open during this time period you could email them pics/case info...just maybe someone will recognize her. (her eyebrows do seem like she kept them up)

I usually give LE a week or two before I start to nag them, lol, because they have active cases they work on as well as the cold missing ones...I will catch up with him at the end of the month regarding Racheal as a possible....it is so funny-each possible...each phone call generates excitement on behalf of both parties, you know, because if the possible match is not discounted right away because of hold back information both you and the detective are thinking, gosh finally this could be the call. And then you wait. And wait. It is so hard-infinitely harder for the families that are searching for their loved ones of course, but hard for those of us in the nosebleed seats as well...

It's not just big events, but the winter months in southern Arizona are huge! Lots of golfers and convention business. I was thinking if she was from somewhere else, she may have been there for "business" purposes. I don't know - ahhhhhhhh!!!!

There are a few different 'circuits', like Seattle to Denver then New Orleans with stops in towns inbetween. I think they usually are in warmer places in winter (ie maybe Phoenix?) and colder climates in summer (Denver, etc). I know Santa Fe was pretty popular with homeless kids I knew at that time, Phoenix doesn't sound unlikely if thats what she was doing I suppose. I remember worrying about the kids I knew who did that type of thing- what would happen to them and how on earth anyone who knew and cared about them would ever find out if something bad did happen. I guess thats why I keep coming back to this case, thinking that it could have been one of my friends that was never identified.

Also randomly, does anyone remember exactly why Ekaterina Shcherbakova (sp?) was ruled out? Or was she? I vaguely remember soemthing about LE somewhere thinking she wasn't a match but can't remember why?

i think you guys are doing a great job, and being so creative. I have had good success with putting ads on CL for missing persons-in one case, there were credible sitings of a person who was voluntarily missing, whioch helped her family members relax quite a bit. I am in-I will be happy to post.

The two people in the vehicle with her claimed to know nothing about her and were let go after being charged with failing to render aid. She is estimated to be between 13 and 16 years of age, with multiple piercings in her ears, belly button jewelry and a tattoo of a blue heart upon her chest. Any information you can offer will be so helpful-it is time to get this child back to the family who loves and misses her. I attached these photos... I will post the links once CL posts them...

IMO Also these posts should be in The missed connections or some place like that. The general section is for sale items not posts like this. Hopefully nobody flags it. Those are my composites because I tried posting one with her original composites and it flagged me. Sorry. It was just an attempt at what she looked like. I tried to take it from a different angle other than using her morgue photo but using the same characteristics so she appeared more lively. If they don't recognize her on those pictures, they can look at the ME website and see her morgue pictures/composites. I didn't want to take anything without anyone's permission.

okay here are a few more.. look like the rest.. but one has different shaped eyes.. .and another one I tried to put her blonde hair kinda has bangs swept to the side.. I've still been trying to find some good pictures of hair, most of those one sites I upload to put unrealistic looking hair on .. I wanted to get a few pictures 2gether .. ones with different shades/styles of hair .. and see if I can swipe some info from some others that have posted the craigslist ads(if thats okay!) and I wanted to try from 'scratch' again and see what kinda photo I come up with.. I never thought her trauma looked so bad compared to other UID's but today I actually flipped that picture inside out!!! that poor thing! it looks so much worse that way..

kaylenbabysims I think the composites are really good! The features line up really well. I still think this JD is on the younger end of the age prediction. Is there anyway in addition to this composite you can do a composite without the makeup? Maybe someone out there is looking for a preteen looking child and could be thrown off by the makeup.

Ok -I've tried to look at this case from every possible angle. I thought if she was so willing and ready to go to Florida that she may have been from there. No luck with the missing Florida girls. Then I thought, well, runaways really usually don't go too far from home, but no luck with AZ or any of the surrounding western states. Then I thought, maybe she was from a cold place and wanted to be somewhere that was warm...again - no luck with the missing persons from the colder states. I am out of ideas. I truly do believe that Alonzo and LDJ are the best bets for some type of clue. No matter what kind of lifestyle they/she were living, it is COMMON SENSE to believe they at least asked her what her name was!!! She may not have given them her real name but she has to have told them SOMETHING we can use here. LE has to know something that we don't know here. What can we do to get that information??????????

I really wish I could get someone else to do it that I know in the Phoenix area, and I have contacted a few people addressing the case to see if anyone is up for it. Vashley, I have no idea what the interview would entail. They want to do a story on WS w/MJD as an 'example' of what we do. They want a WSer in AZ to be available to talk with.

I am going to email the reporter right now and let her know I am trying to find someone in the area for story. I will also call and nag ;) about doing it w/o someone there. Again, as mentioned earlier, I think there is just as much of a story in the 5000 UID's in the state and what ME office is accomplishing locally there....they me be unaware.

I have been looking into that senerio and it seems it happens quite abit where a Couple will pick up a girl with BAD INTENTIONS....

Here is just ONE example and they lured her by asking for directions ...IMO the only reason for Lindsey and Al to Lie is to cover their own A$$es.

Because if they did NO WRONG i feel they would be more open to helping figure out her identity too.

I mean that would just totally HAUNT ME to have a girl fall right out of a car right next to me and die.... I would be all consumed with HELPING find her family...

a 16-year-old girl who told them the most amazing story. The terrified teenager said that she had been abducted at knifepoint the previous evening by a man and a woman who asked her directions as she walked along the street near her home in fashionable Nedlands.

She was taken to a house in Willagee where the couple ripped off all of her clothing before chaining her to a bed by her hands and feet. The girl said the man repeatedly raped her as the woman watched.

The following morning after the man had gone to work the woman unchained the girl and forced her to telephone her parents and tell them that she was staying with friends and that she was okay.
When the woman left the bedroom to answer the door, presumably to let in a cocaine dealer, the girl found an open window and escaped. She was able to give police a full description of her attackers,

Oh WOW I dont know why I didnt think of this BEFORE....When I was 14 I started a fire in my parents kitchen trying to cook french fries with grease!!!!

I forgot and left the stove on HIGH and we had to move out of the house and stay in a hotel for a full month in the summer time SUMMER VACATION....

I wasnt too happy to be away from all my friends in the summer, one afternoon I decieded to was going to walk the few miles back to my neighborhood ALONE....

I hadnt got far when a car pulled over and asked if I needed a ride even though I didnt have my thumb out of nothing I had made up my mind I was going to walk!!!

However I thought well this guy seems like a normal guy a grandfather type surely he wouldnt be a killer or rapist.

I got in and we didnt get very far before I just started feeling very uncofortable like what have I gotten myself into here....Is he really gonna take me where I told him I was going???

All kinds of things started going through my mind. Like nobody knows where I am when I left were I was going to.....OMG

I cant remember what excatly it was that gave me the weird feeling something he said or what but I started thinking of an escape plan.

I started looking at the door handle 'so I would know where it was and which way it turned etc.

I thought if this guy doesnt turn where we need to turn I am out of here one way or the other.

We came to a stop light and I even thought of jumping out right there because I knew there were no more stop lights on our way.....

But I just wanted to share this because maybe these are some of the things that were going thru Doe's head.

I think I had already made up my mind I was going for that door knob if things got ugly and for a moment I thougt omg what if he has the knob rigged up so it wont open from the inside or the knob will just fall off in my hand.

I honestly feel she must have been terrified for her life to jump at that speed and on the interstate....

Maybe they were attempting to tie her up or tape her handcuff her whatever and she felt it was her only chance....

I wish more than anything that Lindsey would come forward and answer some of these questions we have such as her clothes accent etc etc then maybe we can get past the fact that she was involved if she doesnt have anything to hide then she should help in any way possible to give her back to her family. She has been able to go on with her life have a baby etc etc by poor Maricopa Doe never got the chance to have a life.......

THanks for sharing your story.. I've been thinking about what her story could be about and it reminded me of one of mine

at 14 I wasnt living at the home( dysfunctional family), so was livign with my b/f & his parents I bounced around quite a bit when I was younger then when I hit around 13/14 I was living mostly anywhere but at 'home' .. So I was a habitual runaway, so I wasnt really looked for.. or I got word beforehand So I could disappear..

Anyways when I was 14 my b/f, me and 2 of his friends decided to take his parents car for a joyride (stolen)... and well one boy didnt go 'fast' enough or good enough so my b/f thought he'd teach him how to do it right.. I remember that part the last . we were in a residential neighborhood and he took a turn at 60 and hit a palm tree.. they 3 get out (2 hurt) and were going to run but noticed I wasnt there and they looked in the car and there I was OUT cold .. I started coming to here and there in the ambulance..... But we had 'borrowed' a few other vehicles too , but got much further away with them (almost hit another tree once, he thought it would be a good Idea to drive it into the woods to hide) So I can definately see a "friend" getting left behind and 'forgotten' .. Think god mine didnt :)

I have talked with Jules and she is willing to help if able. :woohoo: Jules is a local :D and said if they can interview her before Sat or after 6 weeks she is in and do whatever she can to represent WS and get leads on this case. We spent (Julessleuther and I) about 45 minutes on the phone and she is like me, doing what she can when she can and wants to contribute.

THIS IS WHAT IT IS ABOUT! We all have our talents, time, ect, we do what we can when we can, when it all pulls together!

Jules is leaving Sat out of AZ for 6 weeks. If she can help she has agreed before Sat or after 6 weeks. We will keep the announcement up and see how this can work otherwise.

Gosh I wish we could get ahold of ATI, since they have put in alot of work with this case. I gather from their website that they are not local because they talk about making trips to AZ and how the last trip cost them $3,000

I have found a myspace for them possibly

However as of yesterday they hadnt logged in for several days so I didnt message them. And they were listed as PRIVATE, not coducive to finding missing and unidentified LOL

So, I went back and did a search of all my post in that one and sure enough I had posted that once before.

We drive approx 30 miles one way 60 miles round trip mostly all on the highway.

I told him about MJD and the first and only thing I said was do you think I could open this door at 75 mph and push it far enough out to jump out.

Then I told him about the story of MJD jumping etc etc ....

I said open yours see if it will open without alot of resistance.

I said Im opening mine I just have to know, so he was travelling in the far right lane so I could open it without someone coming by and ripping it off.

He said do it see it you can... I did and it opened right up I thought there would have been alot more resistance than I got....

So based on this very scientific experiement I guess it is possible even for a small person.

Im soooo glad I got that out of my system I have been wanting to try that for weeks.....haaaaa

I hear ya. She's a beautiful kid, I don't see how someone could forget that face. But unfortunately we live in a corrupt world and it happens more than we like to believe. SOMEONE out there knew her! She was someone's friend, someone's child, someone's niece, someone's grand daughter, someone's cousin, someone's classmate, someone's neighbor. I'm pretty sure she didn't live in a bubble! I mean she has a tattoo, piercings and kept herself up nicely. I don't see many people putting effort into their appearance if they aren't going to see someone that day..

I agree. If I have contacted the right girl, it seems unlikely that she is ever going to tell me anything, though. And I remember that someone else, I think Teresa (sp?), had also contacted a different Lindsey and she said something about being asked if she was that LDJ before and said she wasn't the LDJ we were looking for. If neither of these two are the right girl, I wish there was someway to contact another Lindsey DeJong that would be in an appropriate age range. I have some security clearance and would like to obtain a copy of the police report to see what characteristic's are listed of LDJ's so it can be narrowed down, if even just a little. I'd also like to know what time of day this took place, because if it was at night, it may have been hard for LDJ or Alonzo to have actually seen what MDJ looked like..

I remember waaaayy back in Thread #2 when a newspaper article was posted on the event, it stated that they had all gotten out of the car at one point. I wonder if it was ever verified if LDJ and Alonzo were both in the car when they picked her up or if it was just Alonzo and MJD at first. That's important to know because who knows what went on between just MJD and Alonzo. I'd like to think all three were always in the car so LDJ would be able to tell exactly what happened, that is, if she decides to say anything at all.

Actually awhile back I posted a newspaper article that was a birth announcment for a Lindsey D DeJong in Spokane...I really think that was her, I think the girl was born around March 2007 to her and a man named Andrew Gasper.

But it listed her as Dejong still in 2007 unless she has since married this guy. I also found several other birth announcements from Andrew Gasper with several other women differnet years.

I still have their names since they could possibly fill us in if these 2 are still together etc

I ran the story about MJD to my husband, because he always seems to think of things I havent thought of... He is usually pretty good to bounce ideas off of.

I told him about her "jumping etc etc" OH I left out the part about my little experiement at 75 mph....down the interstate with Dad LOL

( oh ps as much as I wanted the experiment to be as accurate as possible, I DID decided to keep my seatbelt ON)

Anyway, I told him about the mans story about them smoking pot and her FREAKING out babbeling and them just jumping out. HE SAID, MAYBE the Pot was laced with something ELSE, like LSD or PCP and she really WAS FREAKING OUT and JUMPED.....

IF she were hallucinating maybe, I wonder if she was tested for these drugs....Maybe him and Lindsey were used to this kind of laced Joint and she wasnt!!! and she really did have a freak out..

I don't think we have received any official info about MJD's tox screen. Phenol, I like the way your mind works. I know that "sherms" were very popular among gang members in Southern California during the 1990's. There are myriad accounts of shermheads jumping off buildings, climbing trees, etc. I believe that one of the more common effects of PCP is feeling like you have the ability to fly.

PCP was developed as an intravenous anesthetic, but use of the drug in humans was discontinued in 1965 because patients became agitated, delusional, and irrational while recovering from its effects. PCP, also known as angel dust, embalming fluid, ozone, wack, and rocket fuel, is produced illegally in laboratories in the United States.
