This was on the local NYC news last night. He was driving himself to report for his prison 20 year prision sentence for getting people to invest in bogus hedge funds he set up. A lot of people think he faked his suicide because he is too egotistical to actually kill himself. Or perhaps on of the many people he screwed over got ahold of him and staged the scene.

If he did fake it I wonder if they will find him and where.

I've been following this case, I sincerely think he staged his death. The WSJ indicated that of the many who jump from that bridge, the bodies are found within days, his has not been found. He is a slime ball

He is definetly a slime ball. No big loss to anyone if he did jump. He caused a lot of people misery.

Creepy. I've been across that bridge so many times! Rarely do these stories involve places I know so well.

And I wonder how many others (including Israel) remember/realize that "Suicide is Painless" referenced a FAKE suicide. I didn't remember that until I read the article.

Hmmm...I'm glad they're still looking for him.

I agree that I don't think he killed himself. Probably on his way to a tropical paradise with the money he swindled from all those people.

My guess is he faked it. I'd like to know where his girlfriend was at the time he was driving himself to the prison. What the heck was he doing driving himself to prison, he'd need someone else to take his car back home wouldn't he? IMO someone he trusted met him at that bridge and scurried him away, he's probably sitting in a tropical location right now thinking he's managed to cheat justice but I hope in time he's found and returned!

Yep - he told his girlfriend goodbye - he would see her in 20 years. Drove himself to prison - yeah right.

They did mention that in an article I read. It was from a MASH episode- right?

If he is smart he did not tell a soul his plans, arranged this all himself including already having his new identity figured out and the proper documents forged and got out of dodge ASAP, never to look back. In all likelihood he probably had help as far as transportation goes. I wonder if his girlfriend knows where he is and helped him stage the suicide. It seems to me he wants LE to know he staged his death and is out there free somewhere. The context of the phrase he used, the fact he even went to the trouble to write that on his car all points to taunting the LE, IMO.

It's from the words to the theme song of MASH, I think we're all more familiar with the music and not the words. I wonder if he was/is a big fan of MASH?

Police think they found the getaway driver. They saw his car on bridge surveillance. He is a friend of Israel's. LE certain he is on the run.
