The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking for help in locating a missing mentally disabled man. Joseph Martinez is a 37-year-old Hispanic male, 4'0" tall, 148 pounds, with black and grey hair and does not have teeth or dentures.
He was last seen Thursday, July 17th, at approximately 2:00 p.m. walking in the area of Hancock and Costilla wearing a gray sleeveless shirt, dark shorts and brown sandals. Mr. Martinez suffers from a mental handicap and may identify himself to strangers with a different name to include female names.
He is a diabetic and does not have his medication on him. Mr. Martinez walked away from a relative's house in the southeast part of town and in the past when having done this, returned a short time later.
Mr. Martinez has also been found waling near the Citadel Mall in the past.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Martinez is urged to contact the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000.
