Police scoured Rockaway Beach Sunday for a missing teenager, but without the help of the Coast Guard, which called off its search for the 16 years old Saturday night.

Coast Guard crews spent two days searching for Tiara Coaxum, who disappeared Friday afternoon while swimming with another girl. The other girl was rescued and was hospitalized in stable condition.

But after spending nearly 15 hours searching, the Coast Guard decided to call off the search for the missing girl.

A body discovered at the water’s edge in Queens was identified by the city medical examiner’s office on Thursday as that of a 16-year-old girl who disappeared on Friday while swimming with a friend in the rough surf at Rockaway Beach.

The body of the girl, Tiara Coaxum, of Jamaica, was discovered at about Noon on Wednesday in the water under the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge near Beach 169th Street and Rockaway Point Boulevard, officials said.
