Brian Hawkins must talk a really good game. Either he's a great actor or his con will go down in history.
Hawkins has a 1998 conviction and a 2004 conviction for sexually assaulting minors BUT thanks to a mixup the freak didn't have to register as a sex offender. I doubt if he did that would have stopped him with this hairbrain scheme.
The 44 year old Hawkins posed as a "market researcher". Three families bought his BS, and then allowed their kids to be alone with this nutter. Children between the ages of 9 and 13 were tricked into allowing nutter to measure them for underwear.:furious: Hawkins is being held on $150,000 bail and probably will have to now register as a sex offender. Big freakin whoop. He shouldn't have to register because he should be locked up for life.
Oh defense attorney says he has an illness that made him lose half his intestines since he was 16. Is this societies fault I ask? His half an intestines didn't stop him from sexually assaulting kids and conning parents. Although why anyone would trust this guy is beyond me. Mugshot and more at link.

I saw this on our local news yesterday and I about blew a fuse. I just can't believe that these parents fell for this!! He is a sicko that should never be allowed back on the streets and the parents failed to protect their children miserably.

I agree with the prosecutor when he said:
"This pervert needs to be removed from society forever," Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said.

Once he met the families, Hawkins persuaded the parents he needed to be alone with the children for the research.
Hawkins allegedly told the children he needed to measure them for underwear, a ruse to sexually touch them, Deters said.
I bet he targeted parents that needed a few extra dollars & would be willing to take part in a 'survey.'
I doubt he told them anything about measuring OR modeling underwear. So he tells the parents he wants to interviews the kids in private so their responses are not influenced by anyone else.
It doesn't sound very dangerous at all.. your kid is right in the next room.

Anybody telling me they don't want my kids to be influenced by me and wants them alone would scream "DANGEROUS" to me.
Unfortunately I know people that were sexually assaulted right in the next room of supervising adults when they were kids. These perverts don't care. They'll take any risk just to hurt kids.
Plus if you're a child and dad and mom just allow you to go behind closed doors with that guy you'd figure it's safe.

It's all in how the con-man lays out the story.....
'I'm representing X Company & we're researching children's fashions.
All surveys must be conducted with no outside influences to insure the answers are as accurate as possible.
Would you have any objection to stepping outside the room while I go through the short list of questions? It shouldn't take any longer than 2 or 3 minutes..... tops.
If you are uncomfortable with this, I certainly understand your feelings... I have a couple of kids of my own. My company's policy is to give you a partial payment of the promised fee as a way of saying thank you for your time.'
We're NOT talking about babies.... we're talking about children who were between 9 & 13.... they've encountered plenty of 'strangers' by this time without their parents holding their hands... schools, camps, churches, malls, buses, libraries, etc.
All I'm saying is that not ALL parents are HYPER-VIGILANT & expect danger around every corner.
Method is reminiscent of Albert deSalvo's "Measuring Man" or "Green Man" activities in Boston that led to his being suspected as the Boston Strangler.

That's for sure.
BTW, this guys first name is Ben. I mistakenly called him Brian.
Hawkins asked one mother to bring her teens to a high school. A girl and boy and then took both into the boy's locker room to do his survey. Another victim was a 9 year old girl and Hawkins went to her home and had the little girl try on underwear. He was very gracious to leave them a $20.00 bill in a bank envelope.
I don't want to lose sight of the fact that Hawkins is the person who commited the crime. Apparently they think there's more victims out there and the parents may be mortified they fell for the con.
