Please post any information you can uncover on Casey's attorney, Jose Baez, here. Past cases, bar exams, connections, anything. He is a major player and not a lot of information has been posted regarding his history.
From what I have gathered so far from WS (and correct me if I'm wrong), Casey hired him herself, apparently from the suggestion of fellow inmates. The family of Casey is not paying him. It has not been disclosed how is getting compensated (and as one sleuther stated "follow the money"). He has a private practice in Kissimmee, and wesh.com reported that he represented a few high profile criminal defense cases in the FL area.

I stated earlier that if you go to Casey's facebook, click on JP Chitt, go through his friends, find R. Morales, look at his friends. 3 Baez kids. I do not know if that is a common last name there, but I am betting this is tied to Jose and Casey's affiliation.
That may be somewhere for someone to start. Might be the link to why he is there. I couldn't find his specialty on his website, which leads me to believe that he is new and has not established himself. Then he got bashed on national tv and probably is running with his tail between his legs now (hence the motion to withdraw and new co-counsel).

Definitely worth exploring! I wish I could figure out facebook...but I can't, so I don't have an account, and even when I did, I couldn't see anyone's info. unless I was linked to them. It was all very confusing. Someone made up a dummy myspace account, maybe we could do that with facebook.

St. Thomas is NOT a very good school. When I applied to law school in 2005, St. Thomas was a Tier 4 school. IIRC, it was provisionally accredited. I have an email into the dean about the ABA status. I will post the response when I get it.

St. Thomas must be ABA accredited because he was allowed to sit for the bar exam. I know in my state when I was sitting for the bar you had to have a JD from an ABA accredited school. As many states have reciprocity now I am assuming that I that most states require a JD from ABA accredited schools.
That said almost anyone can get in to at least a second tier school, so I am assuming this must be one of those "law schools" that send you offers of full ride scholarships when you take the LSAT.

Casey supposedly got Baez's name from fellow inmates at the jail, right? I'd be curious to know if that is true. How many "clients" Baez has in that jail right now. (or at the time casey got there)

The people are not anywhere on earth.
The stealing & partying well that speaks for itself.
He really would be helping her if he had her plead guilty and work out a deal.
After all this is Caylee's Birthday the truth would be a great gift to this poor child...

So in other words, if you really screw up...CALL ME
Was anyone else kind of offended by the way he commented on the cadaver dogs?
"They dug in the back yard for two days and found nothing, at best this dog is 1 for 2, at worst this dog is 0 for 2, and quite frankly I don’t like these odds."
Seems rather callous to be discussing the possibility of Caylee's death and burial this way. Not to mention the fact that dogs could hit that scent if the body was EVER there. I don't know seems like a conversation about baseball or something, not something as serious as a little girl's life. Guess this couldve made it to the rant thread huh? Sorry!

I believe Casey chose him.
He's probably representing Casey pro bono, for the massive publicity this case is getting.

I forgot that I posted on this thread before WS put me on restriction for a week.
I got a response from the Dean at St. Thomas (where Baez graduated). They have been fully accredited since '96. This means that they were only provisionally accredited when Baez graduated. Being provisionally accredited means the school was being watched closely to see if they could meet the strict standards of the ABA. Provisionally accredited grads can sit for the bar.
Now, the perplexing things is how Baez says that he worked with the Public Defenders office since his 2nd yr in law school and they won all their cases.
If a student is registered with the ABA under student status, they are allowed to practice along side an attorney during their last yr of school. NOW, if he went on full time with the PD office after graduation, he had to have been clerking or doing some menial chore. He was NOT practicing on his own since he did not pass the bar until 2004 or 2005.
I'm betting Baez took the case pro-bono up to a certain point. This would account for all the "help" he is getting now that he made himself look like an idiot on NG. The new guy is a well known atty and is likely jumping in pro-bono for the media coverage.
I know that as a new attorney, I would NOT get involved in this case because this is one for seasoned attorneys, not newbies. Baez looks like he is seeking co-counsel because he doesn't have the experience to handle this caliber of case. JMO.

I don't know about that. It's not often when a high profile case like this comes along and there are lawyers that will jump on it just for the free publicity. That's not saying he won't do his best to represent her, just that he may be willing to do it for free.

The name Jose Baez is a somewhat common name for Cubans...close to a John smith. Jose is probably top ten for hispanics. So if searching the name jose baez you will get lots of hits. But does not mean is the same guy.

Ironically, escorting Casey home yesterday, caused Mr Jose Baez to be tardy to defend another client of his, Nilton Diaz, against manslaughter charges. Those charges pertained to the two-year old daughter of his girlfriend at the time.

Man sentenced to 15 years in death of girlfriend's daughter (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/crime/orl-manslaughter2208aug22,0,2712596.story):
Diaz, 30, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for manslaughter.
He and defense lawyer Jos Baez proclaimed his innocence and blamed the child's mother, Samaris Bobe Silva, who participated in the proceedings by phone from her home in Puerto Rico.
Baez called the sheriff's probe of the child's death "a one-night, one-sided investigation," suggesting the more likely suspect was the mother, whom he criticized as "cold" for not attending the hearing in person. He said she "couldn't even bring herself to cry" during her telephone testimony.

I find this EXTREMELY interesting, that Casey picked this particular lawyer to represent her, and pretty quickly after being arrested.
Now I'm wondering if she researched lawyers before being arrested and picked him because of this case.
Hopefully LE has done forensic analysis on all computers involved and found these searches. If they were done BEFORE the 911 call, it seems like it would show some kind of intent or something?

TAVARES - Like a boxer trapped on the ropes, Nilton Diaz fought for his freedom Thursday. But he failed to convince a judge that he was innocent in the death of 2-year-old Noeris Vazquez, granddaughter of acclaimed Puerto Rican fighter Wilfredo Vazquez.
Diaz, 30, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for manslaughter.
He and defense lawyer Jos Baez proclaimed his innocence and blamed the child's mother, Samaris Bobe Silva, who participated in the proceedings by phone from her home in Puerto Rico.
"Ask God to forgive him because neither me or my family will," Silva told Lake Circuit Judge Mark Nacke through a translator.

it will be only a matter of time.
Casey's family will grow impaitent as will the Bounty hunter [ not her lawyer]
Casey will attempt to escape through the back door or window and get caught.
Is the back of the home watched also?
Look; the family will go along with it for a while but their tempers will emerge.
it will not be sweet for long.
I see a volcano brewing and that's because she will not ever say one word worth following a lead on.
This person is devoid of compasion and feelings.
Clever she is...
the family will implode!
That's just the way it is.
They also may ask for outside help in the form of a shrink?
To cope?
Because I really think Casey will keep her info to herself.
She is due for court in November...
no Caylee for Thanksgiving....family dinner.
no Caylee for Holloween around the neighborhood.
The family will wise up and admit Casey needs serious help...

I've said this all along also EXCEPT I think they might wait right until the trial date & THEN fire the atty. so they can have more time while their NEW atty. prepares for the defense.
I even think they might pull that same stunt over & over until the judge grows impatient & declares NO MORE POSTPONEMENTS.
Just like Casey knew that it's in her own best interests to delay reporting Caylee missing & then refused to give LE any info that might lead them to FIND Caylee... I think she'll want to delay facing the trial. She has a track record of NOT wanting to deal with reality.

I think its terrible that the man who murdered the childl only got 15 years. He should never see the light of day out of jail. So perhaps Baez did a better job than we think to get such a light sentence. Can you imagine an innocent child who gets their head bashed in by their father is a crime only punishable by 15 years in prison?

If she's NOT at home with her family, that's probably the only time Baez can relax. Even HE has to realize her family wants desperately to know where to find Caylee.
It's pretty infuriating that her lawyer can't meet with her at HER house though.... after all, why should she be allowed 'outings' unless it's a medical emergency?! :furious:
If she's allowed to go out for visits TO her atty.... how do we know the plan isn't JUST to show LE that she goes there & straight home.... and never tries to escape. After a while, the media gets bored, LE gets a bit lazy & *poof* Casey disappears.
What's the point in home confinement if she's NOT home????

Yes. That part jumped out at me. And the fact that JB was late to a very important date in court with this client 'because of CA', but from what we've seen, tell me - what has transpired in the last 24 hours with CA that was more important than being at the sentencing hearing for your other client facing charges of murdering a child?
Was it necessary for JB to 'escort' CA home from jail and then enjoy a "relaxing" day/evening as a "family" in the Anthony home?

I know somebody asked somewhere what it said on the umbrella Baez used when she was released - for what it's worth, it's Lexis Publishing. Don't think it means anything, probably and umbrella given to him by them.

I don't think he's court appointed.
I believe Casey chose him.
He's probably representing Casey pro bono, for the massive publicity this case is getting.
Can't a lawyer apply to the state for some payment if thier client is indigent?

He is in over his head; he doesn't have the experience for a case like this, which is why the family is speaking with a new superstar attorney.

"If I have to go out myself, door to door, and look for this child, until the day I die, I will walk every inch of this earth and open every door and knock on every door everyday and I will look in every nook and cranny," Cynthia said.
The pair says they have faith in their daughter and are paying for her attorney.

it will be only a matter of time.
Should we try to get Dr. Phil in on this one?

Please forgive me if this has been posted previously regarding JB.
On his website he says that he started working in the public defenders office in Miami in 1995. The office said he wasn't hired until 1997.
JB explanation is that he started interning there (during the summers) in 1995. He interned with attorneys. He was allowed to try cases with a "real" attorney before passing the bar. So, the cases that were won while he interned is included in his statistics appearing on his web page.
He passed the bar 8 years after graduating law school.
He should only include the cases he has won when he sat first chair. Talk about spin!!!!!!!!!

Im sorry, but this whole thing with JB reminds me of the 'Chewbacca defense', like I could see him actually using it.
Baez-
"Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, the state of Florida would certainly want you to believe that Casey is involved with her daughter's disappearance. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself! But, ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/08/0330chewbacca.jpg
Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending CA and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, [approaches and softens] does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests."
Anyone who watches South Park will know what I was referring to. JB is a joke to me and his lies and covering for CA just reminded me of that episode. I just hope to God she is charged with the full extent and that the jury will not fall under his spell like Cindy and others seem to have. I want justice for that little girl. :banghead:

I personally believe that at some point this case will financially break Baez (if it hasn't already) and he will seek relief from the court.
Without additional partners with substantial financial resources, he will not have the funds to hire "experts" for trial if/when the murder charges are filed and this case is finally presented to the court.
I don't see defense attorneys lined up to represent Casey.
It will be interesting to watch the progression of the County's legal services allocate funds for her defense.
All the taxpayers in Orange County will pay dearly for this one.

There's all this talk and supposition circulating around about Cindy hating Hispanics, that's why Caylee's father was cut out of the pic, etc.

I recently just found out that his last defendant (the child murder case) worked with me. I worked with him when it all went down and when he was convicted. I remember people talking about the trial when it was going on. The only opinion I have about him (the defendant) is that he was a hard worker, but was a little smug. Most people at my company loved this guy though and went to his trial everyday. Most people around here thought he would be found innocent and everyone was shocked when he was found guilty. They all said his lawyer was not very good.
Now that he is KC's attorney too, I hear coworkers of mine talking about how bad of a lawyer he was and how in the world did he get involved with this case.
This leads me to ask, what is the back story on Jose Baez? How long has he been an attorney and how many cases has he tried and what is his success rate?

I do not see anywhere on JB's bio where he went to law school. Any one know?
Taken from a cached Orlando Sentinel page:
In the past month, 39-year-old Baez has appeared on national television shows. He is quoted in People magazine. Court hearings he's in are shown live over the Internet.
This sudden celebrity is a dramatic change for the boy who dropped out of Homestead High in the ninth grade, joined the U.S. Navy and attended Florida State University with plans of becoming a cop. He decided to be a lawyer his last year in Tallahassee.
"I wanted to have a bigger impact on the system. I thought law was the way to do that," he said from his strip-mall office next door to Miller Bail Bonds and down the street from the Osceola County Jail.
Baez, who speaks Spanish and Portuguese, graduated from St. Thomas University in Miami in 1997, cut his legal teeth at the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office and opened his law firm in Kissimmee three years ago. He has another lawyer who works with him, along with an investigator and a paralegal.
Edit: Bolded the wrong part, sorry.

According to Baez web page he joined the PD office in 1995 and won 32 of 34 cases he tried in the first 2 years. Baez could not have tried any cases in the first 2 years has he had not yet been admitted to the Bar. Baez was not amitted to the Bar until 2005 and it was then that he opened his "private" law practice.
I have been able to find just one major case he tried and he lost that one. On that case Baez made his client and the court wait for him for 45 minutes while he took Casey home.
Baez at one time had a real estate license in Florida, so I would guess he sold real estate to supplement his PD Lackey (he was not an attorney) salary.
Baez lives in a very modest home which he purchased in 2003, which leads me to think he really is not the sucessful attorney he portrays himself to be.
Would you put St Thomas University on your CV?? Maybe that is why it took him 8 years to pass the Bar.

I said this on another thread, but will post it here also. IF (unless she cops a plea and that is doubtful) or when Casey goes to trial on any type of charges relating to Caylee's disappearance and death, I seriously doubt JB will be her attorney - or if he is, he will be second chair to someone else. This whole bizarre case is going to be just too tempting for a high profile criminal defense attorney not to sink their teeth into.

OT but Baez looks a lot like Chavez. JMO.
I believe that JB is the closest one to the truth. There is a good chance that he doesn't know the truth, but does he want to?
If JB were to take a lie detector test what questions would you ask him?
Do you know where Caylee is? JB: No...
Most likely true
Do you believe that your client knows where Caylee is? JB: No...
Most likely false
Have you personally benefited, in any way due to your representation of Casey? JB: No...
Completely false
Of course these are just my opinions in how he would answer, but I would be very interested in hearing others opinions or questions/answers they would ask or expect.

SNIP.
Are you talking about KC's layer Jose B? If so he don't need to take a lie detector. He's the lawyer what he knows or doesn't know is between the client and him. Only under limited conditions would he need to reveal anything to the courts.

I know people who have taken lie detector tests and people on here has also said this. "I told the truth and the test said it was not true". They really aren't admissable in court, I don't think.
A lot of people won't take them for their inaccuracy.

I agree with you that lie detectors tests are not admissable and therefore do not hold much relevance. My point was just that I'm sure JB either knows the truth or could find out the truth if he really wanted to.
While lie detector tests are inaccurate to some degree, LE has used them to confront the suspect and say "this proves you lied" in some cases it has worked to get a confession.

I love this part:
"The legal merits of his motion have yet to be decided, because Baez blundered by not notifying the judge assigned to the case about his motion. Nor has he asked the judge for a hearing. So his motion sits in the clerk's office on the second floor of the courthouse going nowhere."
And Casey sits at home going nowhere except to JB's office. I'll bet LE disagrees... this case is definitely going SOMEWHERE!

is he court appointed public defense attorney or is someone paying him?
I recall Cindy commenting how Casey "had picked him" from a list. But his website says nothing about public defense
I have posted about this before. Jose Baez is NOT court appointed, nor does he have a contract with Orange County. He is not a Public Defender. How he is getting paid is anyones guess.
In Orange County, we have the Public Defenders, if there is a conflict, we then appoint The Office of Regional Conflict Counsel, then if that has a conflict, we go to our list of contract attorneys. Jose Baez is not on that list.

Actually in the state of florida you can try a case as a Certified Legal Intern if the Client signs off on it. Of course, the CLE would be supervised by an attorney who has passed the bar.

I am working on a new theory that I won't go into because, as of now, I have a whole lot of people who are intertwined in businesses in this case..but not a shred of proof. Still working on it.
I don't think that Casey was given JB's name by an inmate. I think, that she may have been involved in some illegal activity and that JB is an "on call" lawyer for some of the people she may have been involved with.
Has anyone got a picture of JB's wife? I should would love a link. I can't find one anywhere. I am curious as to what she looks like. wink wink

That same day, Baez shoved a reporter. He also kept the Lake County judge, the victim's family and witnesses waiting. When he arrived, he made no apology."

I see some of the same arrogance in him that I see in the Anthony family...in other words he obviously felt there was no need to apologize because he had not done anything wrong. Not!! Seems like a good way to tick off some judges to me which is the last thing a lawyer wants to do.
After watching the video on his site, personally I think that Baez attempts to put on a front of being a big shot, high paid attorney when he really isn't. Compared to many seasoned criminal defense attorneys he is still a rookie and may well be way over his head on this case IMO. Eight years after law school to take the bar huh. Anyone know if that was his first attempt at passing the bar exam? Oh and if he really wants to look like a professional, I really think he needs to ditch the crystal liquor decanters and glasses that are highly visible on the credenzas directly behind the desks of each of the attorneys in his firm in the video. I wonder if he has to lock up the booze when CA is in the office. The other guy's office looks kind of pitiful when you look at the arrangement of books on his bookcase. Three measley little law books centered on each shelf but the crystal decanters are sure there for all to see. Seems to me that the money would have been better spent on a larger reference library. I have to admit that is the first time I have ever seen something like that in an ad for a law firm. After a day of dealing with CA he just might need a good stiff drink but I think it would be more appropriate and professional if he kept it in a closed cabinet out of site. JMO

Being late for court is not so unusual, having worked in the court system for over 30 years. Many lawyers are scheduled to appear in several different courtrooms at 8:30 in the morning and they just go with the flow. As far as Baez is concerned, he had his date set with the one client, not knowing that he would have to appear at KC's bond hearing that same day. Again, not so unusual for times to overlap

SFW, no attorney in his right mind would do a Lie detector test, not even admissable in Court. xxxxxxxooo mama :blowkiss:

Hope it's ok to add this to thread, I find it interesting since Casey has that new Zanny,Sammy and kids script story that Rob and LP have talked about.
Baez: Aug 23rd video
"The corporation of the promoters at the Fusian night club which Tony L is tied into so on and so forth. If you pull up their corporate records the addresses that some of the officers belong to are at the Sawgrass apartments. I mean it's a phenomenal coincidence."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O83FuykGbs8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O83FuykGbs8) 5:08 into video
I keep puzzling on what he's implying, if anything. Is he suspicious of Tony L? Just the officers? Both Tony L and the officers? Or is he just commenting that it's interesting odds?
As of July 27nd, according to Casey (if she can be believed) she had not told Baez a different story than her original.
* jail tape of her brothers visit July 28*

Lots of times it is a matter of getting from point A to Point B. He drove from Kissimmee to the OCJ which is just a few miles from where he is, then he drove to Lake Co. Jose Baez sees Casey as having dollar signs. When she threatened to get another attorney when she was in prison before being bonded out the first time, he realized he was going to lose the potential to make a lot of money, and he found Padilla to bond her out. He does not really care I dont think whether he wins or loses. He knows this is a case he cant win. What he does realize is that he could bring in a few million dollars in income on this case. He is negotiating deals for movies and other things for Casey, and although she cant profit if convicted, she can possibly profit now. I am sure he has arranged for retainers and fees due to cover his expenses. He is billing for all the hours he babysits Caylee in his office and for all her bodyguards to take her to and from jail

No attorney 'cares' about anything...pretaining to their clients and their crimes.... but the outcome of the case.
The defense wants a NG verdict, and the prosecution wants a G one.

Mr. Baez is trying to create reasonable doubt. Creating reasonable doubt is done by giving a believable scenario, other than the suspected one, that, may have occurred. The forensics that we know so far make this unbelievable. Mr. Baez wasted his and everyone elses time with this appearance.

Movie deals, and media exposure for Baez and the family of Casey. Does Jose really think if he wins this case that he will have the respect of the public ? Not on your life IMO !
The public will never respect Jose in any manner. His defense of Casey has to be, but is revolting IMO ! IMO she is as guilty as sin from all of the circumstancial evidence we have read and heard.

It made me laugh as well. The ENTIRE press release made me laugh. Of course they are not going to release DNA or Chloroform reports. They are saving that for a GJ.
"The Baez law firm is, nevertheless, examining each line for accuracy." How are they going to verify the accuracy? According to what his client tells him? :floorlaugh:

Good old Jose should try to get a partnership with the Law Firm of Dewey, Cheatum and Howe. This guy is so stuck on himslf (and KC) that he is sickening to both see and hear. When this case goes to trial.. the prosicution is gonna make a MONKEY out of the self proclaimed "Veteran Lawyer"

Then he goes on to speak of his deep respect for LE.
Sounds like Casey has found a soul mate.

I don't know about "veteran," but I hope he does not get any STD's while he is defending this piece of work.
He is defending an alleged child murder, and the only respect he will gain is from those in organized crime. I feel he is a first class sleeze, SCUM !
And, I am of the belief, he knows exactly where Caylee's little body is laying to further decompose. I despise KC, but Baez makes my skin crawl.
So does Nejames, another stellar individual, NOT.

I don't think he's court appointed.
I believe Casey chose him.
He's probably representing Casey pro bono, for the massive publicity this case is getting.
I can't help but think there is something totally unethical going on for 6 hours a day every day at his office. He could not possibly have any other clients given the amount of time he is spending with Casey.
I don't think he is a very good attorney. I am not an attorney and I know you can't file a motion to test evdience on charges that have not been filed. If he were good, he wouldn't be in a storefront in Kissimmee - he'd be in an office building near the courthouse. jmo

Has he allowed LE access to his client yet? This is what I personally care about....this man was chosen because he pled a mother who murdered her child down to manslaughter. This makes him a good choice for this case IMO. I could do that and I am not even a lawyer. People just dont' want to believe that a mother can murder her own child.

It's my understanding that Casey has never been in general population ......right ??? So how could she have gotten JB number from a fellow inmate ?? Before actually going into a jail cell, you are held in a holding tank - usually with other people. Booking takes quite a while.

Maybe Geragos. Another attorney whose track record with child killers is very poor.
Gaia713

I think its terrible that the man who murdered the childl only got 15 years. He should never see the light of day out of jail. So perhaps Baez did a better job than we think to get such a light sentence. Can you imagine an innocent child who gets their head bashed in by their father is a crime only punishable by 15 years in prison?
Still it is the ATTORNEYs responsibility to be there for his client in court. And he clearly waws not. SHAME ON HIM

EDight years after graduating law school? He must be pretty stupid cuz I have a relative (average intelligence) who passed the Florida Bar the first time. When I heard that, I lost a lot of respect for attorenys in Florida.

I agree. The site appears to be very misleading re how long he has been admitted to practise. IMOO A lawyer can lawyer for a client but they cannot appear in court for a client until they pass the bar. They usually work UNDER an attorney who has passed the bar. Baez could have been a file clerk for all we know. Since he, like his client, can't tell anything honestly.

When comtemplating a defense attorney's success rate, be aware that they consider getting someone off on a lesser offense is a win. Their success rate has nothing to do with gettting a not guilty plea.
Mark Geragos still considers the trial with Cameron Brown a win - it was a mistrial (he jury said guilty, but couldn't agree on the degree of guilt) and he will simply be retried because the jury was hung. If I were Cameron Brown, I wouldn't consider that a "win" or even a "success"

"News 13 asked Press Corp Media, the group representing the Baez law firm, if the Anthony family was paying for his services out of pocket or if he was doing it for free. They said how Baez gets paid is none of the public's business."
snipped from:

Only for costs such as costs of depositions, not for representing her. They can also get the state to pay for THEIR experts - Mark Geragos did that.

I understand what you are saying. Isn't the sentencing of a client a pretty serious matter. I still don't understand him putting Casey ahead of this situation. :waitasec:
What makes it even worse to me is not that he was meeting with another client or in a different court, but he was just following Casey home!!!!! Not exactly doing anything legal in that. Being her "protector" and "hero" is not in the job description of a lawyer. His duty is to represent his clients in court, not on the raods of Florida.

JMO
http://www.baezlawfirm.com/fondo-videos.html I have an accountaqnt who has more law books in his office than they have!!! A defen's attorneys job is to get his client off - it's not about justice. Alan Dershowitz even says that most defense clients are guilty - it's the defense attorney's job to make sure they get a fair trial. I feel dirty just watching him.

CASEY ANTHONY: My gut feeling? As mom asked me yesterday and even Jose asked me last night, the psychologist asked me this morning that I meet with through the court -- in my gut, she's still OK. And it still feels like she's close to home.
He's trying to take the focus off Casey and onto ANYONE else.

Mr. Baez is trying to create reasonable doubt. Creating reasonable doubt is done by giving a believable scenario, other than the suspected one, that, may have occurred. The forensics that we know so far make this unbelievable. Mr. Baez wasted his and everyone elses time with this appearance.
Or maybe his time was not wasted. I assume these were billable hours.

ROFLMAO. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence KNOWS you can't get discovery for a charge that hasn't been made yet. He must think everyone is as stupid as he is.
I love hearing defense attorneys whine about not getting discovery when they already have it.
Had a friend who went back to school to be a lawyer late in life. She started out wanted to be a criminal defense attorney. She never did. She now takes on falsely accused child neglect cases. Since all it takes is an anonymous accusation in any child abuse, neglect case, the standard of proof is much lower than in a criminal court. Almost every child custody argument includes claims of abuse, neglect by the opposite parent. Once in this system, they do not let go without a lawyer representing them.

It is my opinion that IF KC at anytime was going to crack all hope of that was diminished once JB came into the picture. Because of him she doesn't have to be accountable for her actions or lies to anyone INCLUDING HER PARENTS which I find ridiculous! He is her "great protector" and for Cindy to fall for his BS saying oh well she can't talk to you because it would put you at risk for disrupting justice.... or whatever it was he said. PUUULEEEEEZE! There is nothing that Baez has done since the beginning of this that would make me believe he is trying to find Caylee.
Just as one of the above posters said, "his job is to get his client off":boohoo:
I wish this man had enough morals though, to put a child above his client..In my opinion, he would be more noted for doing the right thing, than focusing on getting Casey off..
I understand his job, yet don't understand why he hasn't backed out of it..He knows she is fried..why try to come up with more BS?
Maybe he will turn to the good side when all this is over?
