Somebody wanted to know if she had and accent and when I stated that I didn't think that many people in the Midwest had an accent I got all kinds of rebuttal soooooo yes I said that. :rolleyes: I do agree we all have some sort of an accent but not one that would be noticeable enough for one to say "Oh hey you are from Nebraska or Kansas" I am sure the car dealer didn't say "Oh she must be from Kansas" when he heard them arguing. :clown:

Yes I have only lived in Nebraska but I have been all over the United States for years. My LE contact has had email trouble, plus being out of town.

They've talked to Robin Angers again. This time she says MJD's name is Dawn or Donna and she's from Kansas, maybe Wichita area. She also gave them the name of MJD's pimp (not KTL). They talked to him too. He remembered her:), but not her name:mad:.

Alonzo/William is back in the Grey Bar Hotel, soon to be in Maricopa Co. again. :behindbar ...

I do not believe a word Alonzo or Lindsey have said to police. They know what happened and I am sure they know who MJD is also. It's strange that all of a sudden Robin says she thinks her name was Dawn or Donna. That name would be more believable because of the initials on the ring. She doesn't sound too credible either Of course any of the people in that kind of life style are questionable to say the least.

Been out for a while guys, busy busy. Great work so far, everyone! Someone had said in a previous post that RA probably changed her story or recalled more because she thought MJD wouldn't have gone this long without being identified. I have to agree. They may have had info that seemed irrelevant at the time, too. But after almost 10 years, I believe EVERY bit of information is crucial if we want to get our girl a name.

Wanted to post to let y'all know that I contacted Missouri Child Welfare/social services and gave them the information on MJD's case. I told them that she may have been from the Kansas City area. So hopefully they can browse the archives of foster children who may have fallen through the cracks of the foster care system, or maybe know her from the streets. I'll let you guys know if I get any good news!

Phenol- I read your post and the article you posted. Thank you, that was very insightful. That may very well be MJD's story,as well as may others. She did indeed meet the profile, for sure. It makes me sad that she probably was just a young, naive girl looking for someone to love and take care of her, and some scummy pimp realized that and coherced and manipulated her into a crappy lifestyle. As much as I wish she was alive to tell her story.. reading those articles and watching documentaries on ex prostitutes.. they are so eternally traumatized that maybe it was better she didn't have to live like that and she is in a better place now, and you can't help but wonder if she is watching us down here desperately seeking a name for her. If she isn't here walking the earth, she is at least a part of us. :)

Well, not necessarily. I was born in the NW and moved to Nevada when I was a kid. I got teased plenty for some of my own inflections once in Nevada. However.....my accent was not NW'ern but I think because both of my folks were from the midwest. Whatever dialect I had was not from the northwest, but from the midwest, even though I never lived in the midwest!

I usually just lurk here, but I've read every post in every thread in this case. It is so hard to fathom that this girl has been unidentified for so long. I graduated from high school in 98 and often compare what may have been going on in her life with mine.

I am constantly amazed at the dedication and guts of the posters on this case in particular.

I believe that MJD was probably on the older end of the age scale. I know she is probably swollen and doesn't look exactly like "herself" in the hospital and morgue pics, but she just seems so much older than 15 to me.

There are a lot of things I'd like to believe, such as that she was just getting into life on the streets and hadn't endured very much hardship before her death, that her family is still hoping she's alive and will come back to them someday- its too hard to believe no one would care if she was dead. Of course, I would not wish the heartbreak of losing a loved one on anyone.

I also believe that LDJ and Alonzo where not telling the truth. They had all that time on the road after she jumped/was pushed out (I believe pushed) to come up with a story. They knew they were going to get caught, there were other vehicles around them.

I would be inclined to agree, except....My husband is also an Airforce brat. He was born in England - to an English mum and American dad. He had an English accent...UNTIL...they moved to Louisiana! There, he acquired a bit of a southern accent....UNTIL....he moved to the southwest US, where he now has no accent, save for the bit of the midwestern he's acquired from his dad from Illinois where he never lived!

I found some info from 1998 up until this year so he has been living there for awhile. Come to think of it I need to look at his address from a few years back and see where it is from Van Buren. :sleuth:

There are always the exceptions where a child can get their accent from their parent(s). IF your husband looked like his father enough to be his twin, THEN it would be a good possibility of finding his dad and then going there. That is when a much needed miracle happens. I think that an accent can be very important, but at the same time, given the circumstances like your husband's, very daunting and frustrating. Well gotta go to work, have fun everyone. :) My entire point is that ANY little bit of information, be it a recollection of a "country" accent or any other type of accent could help us pinpoint a region where MJD came from and narrow our search.

Any minute detail that some could think is trivial and not important to this case could be the detail that cracks it.....

I agree with you. I can't believe LE cleared AF and LDJ. Their statements were so transparent and didn't make a lick of sense to me, so I have a hard time believing LE actually believed them! If I was a gambler, I'd bet the farm that they knew her name. At the very least, they knew her first name or her street name. My logic behind this is if she told RA/RW her name, then she must have told AF and/or LDJ...

I tend to believe RA/RW, but think her recollection may be a bit muddled. If she is/was a drinker or on drugs, her recollection could be even more muddled. I'm hoping she is telling the truth, but I do find it strange that she went from Cory/Carla to Dawn/Donna.........

I grew up on a farm outside a small community near the Twin Cities. I, too, trusted everyone unless they gave me a reason not to. I personally think MJD was probably the same way, if she just got into a car with strangers as LDJ claims- didnt even know her name. (I think they know MUCH more than they told LE.)

I lived in Jersey for three years, and now KC. Depending on where I am, my accent changes. :rolleyes:

I've been a lurker on this site for awhile now and signed up specifically to try and help in this case.

I lived in the Phoenix area off and on for 16 years. I know the area for which MJD was picked up is especially seedy, and I can't tell you the number of times I was propositioned there when I'd stop to get items before or after a Suns game. So, those who came up with the idea that she could have been a lady of the street seem accurate.

Whatever the case is, the sooner this poor girl gets a name, the more content I'm going to feel.

we never knew she was killed...we thought she just ran away and still to this day avoided contacting anyone..it is a complete shock and its very tough for everyone in my family..I am 20 years old now, and in 1999 I was only eleven..however she moved from massachusetts when I was much younger, many people think she was abandoned by her parents that is very much false she ran away and she was a very innocent girl... I belive she was trying to find her way back home...there is no way she jumped out of a moving vehicle going 75 mph that is ****in riduclous..her real name is Tawnee and she can finally lay at rest with my family...i thank everyone who has stuck with this site and continued to not give up it really means alot...and may god have mercy on the man whom is running like a coward because he will be found so help me god



christine and believe09 are working hard with a tipster, if you saw on the "Possible Matches" thread. Don't know if these two correlate (tipper and O'Brien), but I thought I'd go ahead and post this here. Apparently the poster of this is her cousin.

This girl is my cousin. We had been looking for her for over nine years. We just found out today after 9 years. The mother had put out detectives and special forces to find her and it kills us that all along it could have been googled like this.

I am :confused: Who is O'Brien a cousin of?

O'Brien is claiming he's the cousin of MJD. Gave some pretty good information which leads me to believe that he's legit. I wonder how he may have been tipped off to find this case and determine that MJD is who he thinks she is.

I rec'd an email around 9pm last night from someone claiming to be a relative of MJD. I forwarded this email to believe09 who sprung into action working on this tip.

We are 99.5% sure that we know who she is.

Believe09 spent HOURS last night talking with more than 1 family member.

The tattoo, the ring, the timing, location, all adding up.

Believe09 will be meeting with family members (there are several aunts/uncles/cousins, to see pictures and discuss. We hope to have pictures of this possible for you all today.

The brother is in AZ and will be meeting with Suzi Dodt this AM for swab.

This girl was taken care of as many of us suspected, she does have dentals we just have to get our hands on them. This will be the quickest way to positive ID.

OMG. I am reeling.
