Susan L. Taylor, 47, was last seen Saturday near Walnut and Broadway streets, according to an Asheville police news release Thursday. Her vehicle has been recovered and the investigation shows that Taylor took a cab to the Black Mountain area, where she was dropped off about 8 a.m. Saturday, according to a police incident report.

Taylor has brown hair, brown eyes and an olive complexion. She is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. She has a tattoo of a butterfly on her shoulder. She was last seen wearing a red shirt and black pants.

An elementary school teacher last seen over a week ago has been found alive on a popular North Carolina mountain hiking trail.

Police said Susan L. Taylor, 47, was found Sunday afternoon on Graybeard Trail near Montreat, the Asheville Citizen-Times reported today. Taylor was taken to Mission Hospitals in Asheville, where she was treated and released.

"She's all right. She said she got lost in the woods," said Gaelyn Evangreene, a kindergarten teacher at Isaac Dickson Elementary where Taylor teaches first grade. "She didn't have food and water with her so she was too weak to get herself out."
