I rec'd an email around 9pm last night from someone claiming to be a relative of MJD. I forwarded this email to believe09 who sprung into action working on this tip.
We are 99.5% sure that we know who she is.
Believe09 spent HOURS last night talking with more than 1 family member.
The tattoo, the ring, the timing, location, all adding up.
Believe09 will be meeting with family members (there are several aunts/uncles/cousins, to see pictures and discuss. We hope to have pictures of this possible for you all today.
The brother is in AZ and will be meeting with Suzi Dodt this AM for swab.
This girl was taken care of as many of us suspected, she does have dentals we just have to get our hands on them. This will be the quickest way to positive ID.
OMG. I am reeling.

Im dying WHOOOO HOOOOO
here is the post from city data from around 7 pm last night
This girl is my cousin. We had been looking for her for over nine years. We just found out today after 9 years. The mother had put out detectives and special forces to find her and it kills us that all along it could have been googled like this.
Then around 9 pm
we never knew she was killed...we thought she just ran away and still to this day avoided contacting anyone..it is a complete shock and its very tough for everyone in my family..I am 20 years old now, and in 1999 I was only eleven..however she moved from massachusetts when I was much younger, many people think she was abandoned by her parents that is very much false she ran away and she was a very innocent girl... I belive she was trying to find her way back home...there is no way she jumped out of a moving vehicle going 75 mph that is ****in riduclous..her real name is Tawnee and she can finally lay at rest with my family...i thank everyone who has stuck with this site and continued to not give up it really means alot...and may god have mercy on the man whom is running like a coward because he will be found so help me god

To the family reading.
I am so, so, so, sorry you had to find out this way.
At this time I just don't even know what to say.....I know you believe this is her, and we will 'walk' with you through the process of getting positive ID established. Thank you for emailing me, thank you for trusting believe09 to discuss this at length and meeting with her today. I pray for this unidentified girl that you are her family so that she can finally rest with the ones who love her and as difficult as all this must be on you all, I hope that having closure will help. I can't imagine, I am so sorry for all you have gone through in your search for Tawnee. I hope our support will make this process easier on everyone involved.

Here is what we have:
I was emailed by Aunt.
Believe09 emailed her back, the Aunt telephoned believe.
She was reluctant to give too much information.
They took one step at a time and learned the caller had a niece who went missing in 9/98, who was a ringer for MJD as she saw her on WS and she had another relative who could confirm the tattoo as being one she had seen done on her cousin.
Eventually she shared this story with believe-
the ring that was pictured as belonging to MJD (a gold signet ring) actually belonged to callers sister, Deborah Ann MXXXXX. ("DMA")
Deborah Ann XXXXXX was the mother of Tawni Lee MXXXXX who went missing from Gilbert Az in September of 1998.
Tawni Lee MXXXXX, DOB 9/3/1980 was born in Lynn, MASS and had relocated to Colorado when she was a child. She returned to Mass in May of 1997 after having become a troubled teen as a result of her parents divorce.
Tawni was taken by her mother from Mass to AZ in the summer of 1998, and ran away during September of the same year.
Tawni has an older brother, who is the only family member still residing in the Phoenix area.
Brother has been looking for his sister since her disappearance and came across WS yesterday AM when looking for unidentified females that might resemble Tawni. He opened the Pictures Thread on the forum and instantly recognized not only his sister but her tattoo.
Brother contacted his family members in Mass, and once they had all seen the information on the forum and discussed it, Aunt was elected to contact WS (and Christine2448) to attempt to gather additional information.
Brother called Susie Dodt at the Maricopa County LE office to arrange to leave a sample of his DNA.
Believe spoke for several hours to Aunt, her husband and brother respectively.
Their information is credible, falls within the tips that we have been given and we think it should be vigorously pursued. Here is the plan of action that we devised:
Believe will meet with Aunt today to receive copies of photos of Tawni from 1997. She may also bring Tawni's diary.
Brother will submit a sample of DNA to Susie Dodt tomorrow at the ME office.
Believe will contact Pinal County Sheriff's office and Susie Dodt with information on Tawni's mother such as last know address and phone number, as well as details from tonights conversations.
Believe will attempt to obtain dentals from Tawni that might bring us faster to a resolution as to whether or not MJD is in fact Tawni.
Additional Relevant information:
Tawni ran away from Gilbert Az which is on the outskirts of Phoenix in Sept 1998.
The family home was robbed one week after her disappearance by Tawni accompanied by two men, one of whom somewhat matches the description of Alonzo Fernandez, the driver of the Cadillac MJD exited.
Brother indicated that Tawni's heart tattoo was originally done in Black India ink, which as you may know, fades to blue with time.
MJD died on brothers birthday, 1/27/1999.

Hi, lovelies-
Thanks Christine-the missing girl is named Tawni Lee M. I just got off of the phone with Susie Dodt who is already on the case-I cannot breathe myself because the maternal aunt just spoke with Tawni's dentist and is having him FAX the dental Xrays to Susie. I cannot even fathom this. Aunt will call when she leaves the dentist's office-she wants to watch him do this, lol.

I've got the trembles reading this. Being from Phoenix, it was this very case which has almost haunted me for quite some time now. It was this case which brought me to Websleuths as a long time lurker and now a poster.
I've got to tell you, I'm a wave of emotions knowing that this girl may finally have some closure to her tragic end and hopefully she will now be able to rest in peace.
To the family who may be here, please know there have been many fine humans here who right now who have cried tears over Tawnee and who have worked dilligently to make sure she got her just due. I know now I'm almost in them on behalf of you all, knowing you had to wait so long to hear what had become of her, then finding out this was it. My heart goes to you, my prayers go to you and I offer up my support if you ever need someone to talk to. My email address is jay.pagliaro@gmail.com. Please feel free to use it.... Anytime.
I've been lurking awhile.. Is anyone else who's followed this case so closely like I have feeling the same wave? I feel so happy that this girl FINALLY has an identity, but heartbroken at the same time?

It is.. I can't even BEGIN to fathom what those poor folks are going through. It has to feel like the most unimaginable pain finding out this way, through glimmers of hope that she was still alive, that she died.. and in the way she did.
Gilbert, AZ.. This hits even closer to home for me than originally imagined. I attended Mesquite Jr. High School, then later Highland High.
If she was living in Gilbert when she disappeared, she would have attended either Highland or Gilbert. I graduated (not from there, but still) in 1997. If she was 17 when she passed, she very likely could have been in the same school as I was in.
All I can really think to say now is this... Tawnee, we all love you.. Even though we never knew you.

Some other information as related to me: The family has seen all of FMW's photos and looked at the contents of the car. They actually think that some of the luggage seen in the back seat may be Tawni's.
I think that LE will have some new avenues to explore if indeed MJD has been id'd...

My son is fifteen. It's been too easy this morning to put myself in her family's place, and I'm sickened. At the same time, all I ever wanted was for her to get to go home, so I'm also relieved. Relieved in a very sad way.

I agree Christine, also Nicknjessesmom. I've been typing and retyping trying to figure out what to say but I really can't come up with anything that explains it.
9-3-81? This whole time I've been imagining her as being the same age as me and then correcting it to make her a few years younger. Now it turns out we may have been exactly the same age...

Wow. The range of emotions I felt last night was absolutely crazy. After finding out from believe around 1:30AM that they had a credible tip, I spent hours looking for additional information online, pacing and talking to other people I had spoken to about the case. Everyone was excited that something finally fell through so soon as I have only been working on this case for 6 months. Tawni, what a beautiful name for a beautiful girl to rest in peace with.
To the family-- You have been so brave to contact Christine and believe09 to give them all of this information, through everything you've been through in the last 9 1/2 years. You can be rest assured that Tawni has been loved by everyone here just by seeing her picture, knowing her story (somewhat) and wanting to just coddle her. I am so very sorry for your loss, and that you had to find out this way.

It wasn't 48 hours ago I sat here looking at this case and wondered when our little MJD would get her name. I'm ecstatic it looks like she may finally have her name, and at the same time so incredbily saddened for her family. I'm still in shock and tears. All of us here at WS have loved MJD as if she were our sister, our child, our family.
Believe and Christine are two of the most respectful, awesome people we have here at WS. I'm happy the two were able to guide ourselves, and eventually the family to finding their precious daughter. I just want to sing for Tawni...
Now I can't get this song out of my head for Tawni.
I want so much for us to have an opportunity to carry on her dreams, aspirations in some way. Unsure how, but I would like to discuss that when things settle down, if it is ok with the family to do something in her honor.
Jim Groce I got a name.
Like the pine trees linin the windin road
Ive got a name, Ive got a name
Like the singin bird and the croakin toad
Ive got a name, Ive got a name
And I carry it with me like my daddy did
But Im livin the dream that he kept hid
Movin me down the highway
Rollin me down the highway
Movin ahead so life wont pass me by
Like the north wind whistlin down the sky
Ive got a song, Ive got a song
Like the whippoorwill and the babys cry
Ive got a song, Ive got a song
And I carry it with me and I sing it loud
If it gets me nowhere, Ill go there proud
Movin me down the highway
Rollin me down the highway
Movin ahead so life wont pass me by
And Im gonna go there free
Like the fool I am and Ill always be
Ive got a dream, Ive got a dream
They can change their minds but they cant change me
Ive got a dream, Ive got a dream

I like the smaller, older cases. The newer, bigger ones intimidate me. They move too fast for one thing. I'm not on the computer for any length of time usually, (except today I have a "storm day" off of work) so I can't devote a whole lot of time. Like the Caylee Anthony case. too many people, too many threads. I can't keep up, LOL! That's why I liked this one. There weren't a whole lot of people working on it and everyone was (IS) so nice. So glad Tawni has a name. Happy not to have to write MJD anymore!

Yes, some of the smaller ones are easier to manage. We have a few like that.. I can't keep up with the Caylee case either.. way too much non relevant discussion there.
I'm just so happy Tawni has her name. Just need the official confirmation.
I said earlier this year I would gladly give up another century of Chicago Cubs world series wins to get some of these cold cases solved. I'm making it even more official. Tawni having her name is a thousand times better.. so Cubbies. it's ok for you to go another hundred, but I prefer to not trade a full 100 years for only a single case, ok? (ok, yes I am strange)

FLY by Celine Dion
Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget
Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

Let me say first that by God's good grace, we are here today-brought together in love, compassion and friendship. The fruits of our union here at WS may have been the righting of a wrong done in 1999. That being said:
I spoke with Tawni's mother-heartbroken and wounded she gave me the stories behind the jewelry that has been id'd as MJD.
The ring, cross and chain were gifts from her to her beautiful willful child.
She keened and wailed about what she could have done to save her precious angel-and at that moment, I swear someone else took over and used my voice as I assured her that her darling daughter did not suffer, and the fault was not the mom's.
Phoenix PD would not take a missing person's report which is why there was none on file.
Tawni actually left her mother's home 5 days prior to 1/26/1999-during the weeks that followed mom sat in a vigil out side of Tawni's friends houses and schools, desperate for sight of her child.
Oh my.
ME's Office updates:
thanks to the hard work of Audrey at the CBI, prints were received via email by Suzi Dodt belonging to Tawni.
Suzi was sent scanned images of Tawni, her dental Xrays and her dental chart.
Suzi now has the means to completely rule Tawni in or out as MJD.
So now we hurry up and wait.

Everything about this makes me angry. She was 17 for god's sake. Why not take a missing person's report. How about a runaway. NCMEC has runway's on there all the time. This could have easily avoided 9 1/2 years of anguish for the family. One minute I'm so, so sad and then the next I'm angry. Alonzo and more than likely LDJ knew who she was and yet let her go this long without a name and without the respect she deserves to be back with her family. I have so many emotions going on right now. :furious:

OMG you guys remember this this girl from MASS where Tawni was from it is even stranger knowing what we know
November 9th 1998 at 8am, 16 year old Ashley Turniak was found dead on the breakdown lane of I-91 south in Longmeadow, Massachusetts just 1½ mile from the Connecticut border. The well liked teenager from Agawam had been seen in her high school parking lot before her first class started at 7:25 that morning. Less than an hour later, witnesses reported that she went feet-first from the passenger window of a car heading south towards Connecticut. Her backpack was found on Woodlawn Avenue in Enfield, Connecticut not far from a highway exit. At the time of her death witnesses reported that she was in a tan or light brown mid-size vehicle, possibly a late 80s model Ford Tempo or a vehicle similar to that. After Turniaks fall, the car was seen leaving I-91 at Exit 49 in Connecticut. More than five years later many questions persist, was she pushed or did she fall? Who was the driver? A still grieving family and Massachusetts State Police want to know. If you have any information about this case please call (413) 747-4809. http://www.angelfire.com/ct3/unsolvedct/homicides.html

Lol I just went back to check who originally posted that and it was U I was coming back to acknowlege U
here is your original post
Two months before MJD's crash, another teenaged girl jumps/is pushed, barefoot, feet first from the window of a moving car on the freeway that also fails to stop, lives briefly when found but dies of her injuries.
Probably just a weird coincidence but so similar you'd possibly call it an MO if they weren't on different sides of the country.

One thing I have noticed is that Tawni's mother says that Tawni only left home five days before the incident (which makes me think that she was running away from being er... inducted) but the cousin seems to have said that she was missing from October 1998 (which seems to tally with what we know about MJD in that she was known on the streets for a couple of months before her death).
Of course it's possible that she was sneaking out from home but if she was involved with Alonzo for a long time before her death then there might be a connection, e.g., with Ashley being an old friend with whom she had set up a connection to Phoenix. I have to be offline for a while, but Christine knows how to get me and I know how to get her.
I have spoke with Det Lancaster and he is taking it from here. He now has a case summary, copies of all of the physical evidence information, emails and is in touch with Suzi. Suzi is waiting on the prints from CO-barring that she will need to wait until tomorrow when the dentals arrive.
I have to run but love and prayers to all of you special, worthy talented people who made this happen.

TY FMW63. I would also hope the reporter mentions that LE REFUSED to take a missing persons report. I am steamed about that! Perhaps if LE had taken one her life could have been saved. Especially if LE saw her in the area of 24th and Van Buren. they were certainly patrolling the area.
I'm sorry... I just had to get that off my chest. there is NO good reason for NOT taking a missing persons report.

Is it just me or does everyone feel like this day is so surreal. I just got my lunch and was walking back to my desk feeling so weird. I guess combine this with the Caylee case and was has occured...it's just a weird day. I just hope in that case, Caylee isn't missing more than nine plus years...not that her mom would care. OMG OMG OMG!!!! I come back from taking a much needed break from this case, only to find this information here!!! I am hoping and praying that this is the final chapter of MJD and we can finally give her back her name. (I'm catching up on this thread so forgive me if I'm not completely up to date.)

Another thing I was thinking about while I was eating lunch.... Tawni/Tawny/Tawnie DEFINITELY sounds A LOT like "Dawn"..... It's got the "aw" sound in it, so maybe RA/RW was close when she said she thought her real name was "Dawn".... Just a thought.

Cubby, that was me. I'm the Shaine contact. He definitely wanted to know when/if we ever identified her. I'm going to wait until we get the dentals back before I get his hopes up... He was actually the first person I thought of when I read Christine's post about Tawni!
I was really into this case for very long time and jumped in head first over the past few months to help find this girl's identity, but it was really getting to me and depressing me over the past month. I'm so happy to have come back to this news. I had to take breaks from it every now and again... I think that's why people keep forgetting my name! LOL :blowkiss:

I agree. Dee, please let us know when/if you email Shaine. It was you who first contacted him, no?
As this is sinking in, so much makes sense. TLM had just recently moved to the PHX area from "back east". It's clear to see now why none of her non family peers where looking for her. She was only away from home a few days. I tend to agree with her moms timeline. Perhaps her cousins and other family memories blend with previous occasions of running away.
RA talked to her... I'm sure the events which she saw on the news regarding KTL and having talked to TLM.. her mind would have naturally put the events together. She tried talking TLM into going home...
I don't buy that LDJ and William/Alonzo picked her up near 24th and Van Buren. I think they picked her up long before they got to that area. Could be that they stopped at that home BEFORE and not AFTER the alleged pick up at 24th and Van Buren... remember that part of LDJ's story? (Little bits of truth that come out with lies...)
That perhaps she had gotten out of the car near the area when the Sales Manager of the car dealer saw her and said they forced her to get back into the car. Remember he saw them arguing. Any young girl would be scared to be left alone in that kind of neighborhood, especially having been newer to the PHX area. At that point in time she had no reason to doubt that they would have dropped her off in a better area and most likely trusted them to do so...... even more so if they picked her up at that house LDJ mentioned... sometime is telling me that in my gut.
I think the condoms and shoes were LDJ's and planted for their story to cover their arse. I also wonder what tie exists between the friends she had made in PHX and LDJ and William. Maybe a dealer..... NO one recognized her from the streets, not the vice squad, nor the dancers in the area.
just my thoughts... this poor girl simply made the wrong choice by getting into a car with William and LDJ.

The timing is amazing and uncanny with this. The reporter just finished the story.. We waited for so long for so much info...
I think TLM had a hand in this timing.. I think she had more to say and something will be revealed in helping others as a result of this... It's just a matter of time for it to be revealed, and it will be to different people in different ways.

Now that we're just waiting..
I've got to know, what brought YOU to Tawni's case?
My story is that I was looking for a friend of mine, and TLM shared an uncanny resemblance to her. I could not locate her on whitepages, but I eventually found her on myspace, thank God. I graduated junior high with her, and since I couldn't recover any contact info on her I started looking through obituraries and "Jane Doe" cases since she came from the "bad part of town", if you know where I'm going. Anyway, TLM looked very similar to her, and it kind of just stuck. I tried sleuthing some information on her after I found out she wasn't my friend, and ran across Websleuth's and became a member here to put in my two cents since I grew up around the Phoenix area.
So, what's YOUR story?
(Would've posted this in Kitchen Sink, but it really isn't off-topic..)

quoting myself to add... She sure did get the full circle of events in place. the reports, pictures, news, shaine, LE just reinterviewed RA. When taking into consideration this story was first posted at WS in 06.. it's amazing the amount of info which has become available to us in just the past few months.
I remember my initial image when I first read this story. That she had been picked up at a convenience store- something like a Circle K or 7-11 in a remote area.. truck stop kind of area in the evening hours rather than the daytime. how different the truth was......
Continued thoughts and prayers for TLM and her family.

I was just web surfing grocery store websites (history stuff) and on one message board a poster wanted help in identifying a plastic bag found with unidentified remains in PA. http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/349ufpa.html

I know what you mean. That's partially what drew me to this case, too. I will be 20 in a few weeks, and she seemed closer to my age bracket, so I felt as though I had more similarities with her than say some of the other UID's. Of course, she would have been older than me in 1999. I was out on my own by age 16 and know what a struggle that is..
She would've been around the same age as my older sister, just a few days apart, in fact.
I looked up the meaning of Tawni. It means golden brown, like a lion's coat. :)

This is a sad/joyous day. Sad because a young life was destroyed and joyous in that she can now be reunited with her family.
Do you all realize that were not for your hard work this young woman would have been unidentified forever? Her mother, father, and loved ones would have gone to their graves never knowing? Do you know how important your work has been and continues to be?

Hi Everyone:
I am the fellow who wrote the in-depth story on Suzy Dodt and her work on behalf of the unidentifieds a month or two ago. As most of you probably know, I spent quite a bit of time discussing the case of 99-305, who apparently is FINALLY going to have a name, an identity. This is fantastic news, and I look forward to telling our 500,000 readers (plus the on-line readership) about what happened as soon as things work themselves out. Thank you to all you folks!

I "found" Tawni after I was reading the thread about the Iraqi girl whose picture was found at a gas station here in the US and it was determined to have been emailed by one of our soldiers to a relative or something. The thread was old and I started reading it from the beginning. I knew she was Iranian or Iraqi halfway through the thread, but being old it was already solved and there wasn't anything I could add. So I started looking through other UID threads and ended up here. I'm so happy that here is one UID who might/probably has a name! Our hugs and prayers are with you Imor and please pass them along to the rest of the family. If you have read these threads, surely you know she was very much loved.

To Christine, Believe 09, and to all who loved this beautiful girl so much to spend your time helping her,
This is a sad/joyous day. Sad because a young life was destroyed and joyous in that she can now be reunited with her family.
Do you all realize that were not for your hard work this young woman would have been unidentified forever? Her mother, father, and loved ones would have gone to their graves never knowing? Do you know how important your work has been and continues to be?
Proud of you is too weak a saying of how I feel about you all now. I'm sitting here crying for everyone.
God bless you. How fortunate we are to have you here with us.
Thank you Tricia...for all you do behind the scenes that no one sees. For the $$ to keep this place running asking nothing from us but love/dedication to the ones that need us. Thank you for the 'platform', NONE of this would be possible without WS, WS Staff, and YOU!!!!!!!:blowkiss::blowkiss::blowkiss::blowkiss:
I love you man!

Are you kiddin' me????? I am 1/2 way through divorce, signed up here in 05, IIRC....LMAO!
Thats too funny Christine, I noticed your new avatar this morning and that is the first thing that I thought! And what a difference it is! Oh and by the way honey... um.. boy, you must really be tired, but I thought I should point out to you, that you DID sign up in 2005! See if you look in the top right hand corner, it actually says the date when you signed up! Just kidding you! LOL! Teresa must be tired too, she says she's been here for a few years but it's almost two years! Just kidding you guys! Really! I know everyone is tired from having been here all day!

I am an Aunt of Tawni who has been missing since early 1999.. I just want all of you who loved her and kept her in your hearts to know how much we appreciate it... I can not tell you how much this has helped my family to know that there was so many people who loved her . I want to keep this blog short until she has been identified as our Tawni.... But wanted to send this message to thank you all.. Especially Chrsitne and believe, with whom I have been in contact with since late lastnight. If it wasnt for you all, I am not sure we would ever be able to have found her... Thank you again and I will write again when it has been confirmed....
I can't even comprehend what you all are feeling/going through, can't even comprehend.
I am sincerely, sorry, that you had to find out this way.
We are here for you..we will 'walk' with all of you through this.
God is amazing, amazing. You look at the 'set up' here. Believe09 is in MA..most of family is there, I am in GA, mom here, brother in AZ, we have many there ready to assist. God brought so many paths together for this to happen.
I know it is not confirmed......and if this is not Tawni, we will find her....that I know.

Welcome to WS, your article was fantastic. Suzi Dodt is awesome. It's evident she is very devoted to her work, and goes way above and beyond. Looking forward to seeing your future work.
Thanks to Suzi too if she happens to see this. :blowkiss:

From Christines post:
God brought so many paths together for this to happen.
Tawni had a hand in this too. I believe she let all the pieces fall together before things were revealed, because she knows there are so many others who still need a name. If this is indeed Tawni, which I believe it is less final confirmation, she is smiling on us now knowing she has done what she can to help not just herself but others. As CP said, her final gift. She is a bright angel shining from heaven, shining light enough to light the way for others as she has for ourselves.

It has been confirmed that MJD is indeed my sweet niece... This is going to be short as it is a hard time for us.... But I believe you all deserveto know her real name... It was because of you we are able to bring her home.. Thank you all for loving her in our absense..... No words can describe what you all mean to us, especially Believe and Christine.... When I am in a better state of mind, I will leave contact info...
Thank you all again and god bless

In my book a few years is 2 years LOL  I still can't believe it. I have worried and prayed for Tawni every day. I am happy God finally heard our prayers. It will be interesting to see other pictures of her.

My condolences to your family, and please tell her mom how very sorry I am. I look at my own children and cannot even imagine how she must feel. I know that this isn't the outcome she had hoped for, but I hope in the long run having some answers will bring her some peace. Your family will most certainly be in our prayers.

May god bless you and your family and guide you through this. This is bittersweet as I am so glad that you have finally found her but am so sad that it is under these circumstances. I think everyone should go home and hug their little ones a little bit longer tonight. RIP Tawni Lee Mazzone! :blowkiss:

I log off for a few hours and look what happens!
Crying here. Rest in peace, sweet Tawni. A lovely name for a lovely girl. I'm so happy you have your name back. And I'm in awe of the posters here who helped bring you back to your family.
To Tawni's family: I am so, so sorry for your loss. I hope you know that you have a virtual family here with us, and not a day has gone by in the past few months when I and countless others have not thought about this case, and the beautiful girl behind it.

Rest in peace Tawni Lee Mazzone. You're finally going home where you belong. God bless your family and keep all of you safe during this final journey. My condolences to the family and my pride in my fellow WS'ers is great. Good job all... you did it! You brought her home!

I have 3 daughters 35, 29 and soon to be 23 Tawni Lee was a name I had always thought about naming one of my girls because our initials were all TLC. That's probably why I thought about this case day and night. Her name was the unseen magnet.

I am so glad this poor girl has been identified, and so sorry this family is now going through this. My heart goes out to each and every one of you.
You all have done an incredible job, and all deserve a major pat on the back.
I have Tawni as a friend on myspace. Could someone take that down now that the family has been found?
Respectfully,
Lanie
