I think it is remarkable that a GJ is being used. They can have two different functions. 1. To indict someone or not or 2. to be used as an investigative tool. No one can refuse to testify in a GJ proceeding.

While I'm glad we finally have some names and faces that are being questioned in the Grand Jury, I wouldn't put a lot of hope in charges being filed. There is an unsolved murder in the small town next to where I live (it is listed on the OSBI's web page as unsolved murder). A woman was found shot numerous times in her back yard in broad daylight about 12 years ago. A grand jury was called to really question her boyfriend at the time (a past county commissioner who served time in federal prison for the county commissioner scandal of the 1980's). He was later convicted for lying to the Grand Jury about owning a gun when he said he didn't own a gun. Other than that.... the crime is still unsolved. I think the prosecutor called the grand jury with the OSBI's input to try to put some pressure on these witnesses. Their stories just don't jive for some reason!

That is another great tool of the Grand Jury...while a witness or suspicious person may lie to LE or refuse to talk with them answering all of their questions, they cannot lie under oath in a GJ and they cannot refuse to testify before one.

It is a great way to close in and ask very pertinent questions that may have gone unanswered in interviews with LE. For example: If anyone of these witnesses does have access to a .40 caliber Glock but deny it on the stand, then OSBI may already have knowledge that they indeed had access. Therefore; they can arrest them for lying about that or anything else that they swore to in their GJ testimony that was not truthful.

So imo OSBI is doing the correct thing by using this method as an investigative tool so that everyone pertinent is thoroughly interrogated and believe me these jurors are going to be asking more and more questions. Imo, they will be calling back previous witnesses to further ask questions of them.

Thank you for the information Morag. I know absolutely nothing about drugs other than what I have read and learned over the many years on message boards that have discussed this.

But I have looked at the photos on line that shows the severe ravaging damage it can do just by their outward appearance, alone. I did think that this man looks like he is a heavy meth user. Not only because he has no teeth at such a young age but his face is sunken and drawn. Such a waste of life really to be only 34 and look much older, if this is the reason.

Sorry but I have to respectively disagree. In my opinion the killers are either from that area or have a close connection with someone that is from that area (family, drugs, etc). If some stranger to that area did these murders just the location makes it almost improbable. I don't see someone being lost and just out of the blue committing such a horrific crime.

As a native Okiee that grew up in a very small town (pop. 650) I know we don't want to believe that anyone on our community can do something so horrible but I can sit here all day long give you real life examples of how it has happened through the years all around me. Even in my small town a man I went to school with murdered his three children a couple of years ago. While I didn't know him very well I couldn't even imagine him doing such a thing.

We would like to think our communities.... especially small close knit ones are filled with nothing but law abiding people, however; Sheza, we see that over and over crime is everywhere and can be done by someone who has lived in the community, maybe all their lives. It is not where they live that is the key imo but what lurks deep within their hearts/minds and that is a place that no one but God can peer into.

Imo, there is a lot that makes me lean to a local killers. Now they may not live side by side each other. They may even live in a neighboring community or the next county over but imo they have been down that road before and felt comfortable with their surroundings. No stranger would take this chance and use a wide open country road to do this. Whomever did this knew how to leave quickly and I think they live relatively close by. I think when they did this they instantly went to one of their homes or a friends somewhere that gave them an alibi and acted like nothing had happened.

I know it may make the locals feel somewhat safer if they can think it wasn't one of them. That is just natural imo. In our community we have a murder every now and then and I think like you that it cant be someone that lives here but in the end 99% it is and that is why we see on tv so many times where friends, family and community is shocked once the killer or killers are revealed.

I'm still wondering, "Why were THESE people brought in?" What do they have in common? What could they each know that could lead to the killer(s)? Why weren't the owners of the glocks that DIDN'T bring their guns in, have to testify? We heard on the other forum, (probably never to be seen again) that there was rumor of boys on 4 wheelers in the immediate area the day before. We heard about boys being in a truck. I STILL think there is some kind of connection to one or both of these incidents. So where are these boys on 4 wheelers? I keep hearing rumors, rumors, rumors... and they seem to line up with roadblocks in the same area. I figured this would come out in the investigation. I wonder if it did?

I have to admit, this has caught my interest a bit. After watching the enlarged version of the video from newsok.com close to 30 times, it appears that just before you hear the laughing, the lady (Windy) says something. I think I can see her mouth moving as soon as the guy in the tan jacket gets on the elevator. It also appears that the lady (probably from LE) just to the left and in front of her turns around to look at her at the same time. Sounds like Spanish, as her last name would imply. I agree that it doesn't necessarily mean she's also the one laughing, but I doubt it's Larry Smith, and I can't see any of the members of LE finding anything funny at that point. I don't speak Spanish; can anyone make out what she said? Maybe I'll record the audio, clean it up, and let some guys at work who know Spanish translate it.

Whew. Maybe I'm overanalyzing. No, more like "over-curious". I don't know if this will have anything to do with the case, but if it IS her laughing, I can't help but wonder what could be so funny at a time like that.

It seems to me the OSBI is going with the thrill kill, no motive, grand jury. You don't see that in every small town.
OSBI bring in those 15-40 glock owners that didn't show up before parading possible innocent kids into a grand jury with no evidence no attorney, in small towns this can destroy ones life.
Locals would like to SEE the Plackers/Whitakers family and their close friends given a closer look.
Hopefully evidence will lead to the killer/killers quicker or may have to wait for a DNA match. I believe we would all agree if it had to go unsolved before convicting the wrong person than the killer/killers remaining free.
Please don't take what I'm trying to say wrong if there is one piece of evidence leading to all of these boy's being involved - hullalijah!

Well, all I can say is that I hope they make a Legitimate arrest soon. I really hate to think this crime may go unsolved. It seems like an eternity since it happened but, in reality, it has been 3 months. I am sure LE is still waiting on some test results. At least I hope that is the reason this has not moved any quicker.

Hi Lauren! According to what I've read, she was laughing in a meeting with the GJ (or was it a judge?), so I don't doubt it was her laughing in the elevator as well. Not 100% sure though.

I have yet to import the audio into Cakewalk and apply some filtering to try to isolate the comments. I'll do that either tonight or tomorrow (family function today) and let a guy at work hear it who knows Spanish (of course that won't be till Monday).

His father said they fear vigilantes seeking justice might hurt him because he has come under suspicion. Mike also said said it's hard to find a job there because his name is ruined.

Good Questions...do these family members have access to a .40 cal. glock, a white truck or 4-wheeler or live within walking distance? or traveled that dirt road that Sunday.

How did he get to his friends house that Sunday. How far away was the friends home from the P.'s house?
Did the friends hear the shots, also?
Why didn't the GJ have the 'other' people that Gaddy was visiting, there to question?

WHO were the people on the 4-wheelers that Saturday near the P. house?. coincidence?? Were they questioned?
Could it be possible the girls had 'words/argument' with some guys that Saturday or Sunday?

I read one of the young men questioned, did not know the others being questioned?

I dont think we are jumping to any conclusions. Didn't the guys themselves say they are under suspicion? It seemed to me that they have known this right from the start and that other locals may be looking at them the same way since a family member of one of them says they are afraid of vigilante justice and he can't get a job because of this. So it seems that some in that community are also suspicious of these three...not just OSBI.

I think OSBI is trying to nail down all 5 of the witnesses' statements. They may have been evasive when questioned by the police but in front of a GJ that can't happen. They are asked specific things and they answer because they have no choice in the matter. Of course there is always a possibility that one or more can lie but that gives more for LE to work with.

Which one was the one that testified for over two hours? It sure makes me wonder what all he could have known about this case to be asked so many questions.

Imo, now OSBI will go back and look for any inconsistencies to anyone's statement and take it from there.

This is my opinion on the GJ:

I think that that Dustyn was "bragging" about knowledge of the murders. I think he spoke to Windy Espinosa and Larry Smith. (it is rumored they are somehow related) I think Dustyn was probably playing "games" w/ LE and therefore he was called into the GJ so that he would be obligated to talk. If he is untruthful, bingo, he stays in jail for a longer period of time. That can only work in the favor of LE because they will have a POI under lock and key and know exactly where he is. Also, maybe he will "talk" in jail..........

I think Windy and Larry are dimwitted and probably didn't even realize they were required to attend the GJ. Or they played stupid and said they knew nothing of the GJ. Either way, the GJ let them go home after they were interviewed. IF they were POI's I do not think they would have been allowed to return home. They were interviewed only to find out if what Dustyn testified could be corroborated by secondary individuals. Did he keep the facts straight in talking to LE and what he had previously said to Windy and Larry..........

Toney Kelough - ? Need to think about it awhile longer

Mike Gaddy - ? Somehow his relationship w/ Dustyn has led him to this tragedy. His parents have said he is mentally challenged. Maybe, Dustyn took advantage of his mental faculties (or lack thereof) and he was an unknowing accomplice?

I think the key is going to be Dustyn Dailey. He was interviewed for 2 hours. That it a lot of talking. I am curious about: 1) When did LE originally become aware of Dustyn and his potential involvement, 2) Why did he rise to the forefront of LE's GJ, and 3) Was he the friend that Mike Gaddy was with on Sunday?

Again, this is just my opinion and could mean absolutely nothing.

I just have the feeling that these three guys were on the radar all along pretty soon after the murders and OSBI just can't rule them out.

I wonder if it was these three that the Sheriff was referring to when he mentioned very early in the case when he said they had suspects and then OSBI shut him down and he never mentioned that again.

1. The comment from the reader re Mike being a bully. I wonder if they meant Dustyn? Dustyn (Spud) is the one whose mother filed a protective order against him and he's mentioned as having picked on someone's son on the Topix board. Mike is mentally challenged and I could be wrong, but after seeing him on the video I have a hard time picturing him as a bully. But I could be wrong.

It's funny how all the puzzle pieces are starting to fit together. All these rumours we have heard the past several weeks and then nothing. We thought the OSBI wasn't acting on them. However, the GJ didn't seem to make light of them. I still think they are on the right track but maybe they don't have the DNA evidence they need to be 100% sure. Does anyone think there is a "spy" in the next cell to Dylan? At some point he will talk. They all do.

Flossie, I think there is more to the POI story than we know. We have been kept in the dark about a lot of stuff but it all seems to be filtering out slowly. I am pretty sure the same will happen with the POI and how he plays into these murders.

Did you read the comment on the other forum regarding the POI? Now when I heard this several weeks ago, I laughed at the thought. Now I'm not so sure. Maybe possibly the girls came across one or two of the boys performing a sexual act on the POI. Witnesses describe the POI standing next to his truck acting suspicious but they couldn't make out what he was doing. Possibly the boy/boys was not visible to the passing car. Could this scenario be likely? The POI could have been paying for this service. The boy/boys may have needed money. People that need money will do anything they have to to get their hands on it. Especially if they have a meth addiction.

If the girls did witness something such as this, could they have been murdered to keep quiet? Especially if one of the boys was the one who threatened them two weeks before about keeping their mouths shut. JMO!

What you have mentioned makes sense to me too, little. I think there was much rage behind these killings and when Taylor was shot.. the shots to the mouth could have been his depraved mentality at the time....thinking as he shot her in her mouth. "Lets see you run your mouth now..b*tch" (example)

If either of these three have conflicting and inconsistent statements then this pressure is going to get worse for them imo. If OSBI knows they have told different stories OSBI will be right back to applying pressure on them again....maybe even ratcheting it up this time..like never before.

Flossie, I think there is more to the POI story than we know. We have been kept in the dark about a lot of stuff but it all seems to be filtering out slowly. I am pretty sure the same will happen with the POI and how he plays into these murders.

Did you read the comment on the other forum regarding the POI? Now when I heard this several weeks ago, I laughed at the thought. Now I'm not so sure. Maybe possibly the girls came across one or two of the boys performing a sexual act on the POI. Witnesses describe the POI standing next to his truck acting suspicious but they couldn't make out what he was doing. Possibly the boy/boys was not visible to the passing car. Could this scenario be likely? The POI could have been paying for this service. The boy/boys may have needed money. People that need money will do anything they have to to get their hands on it. Especially if they have a meth addiction.

If the girls did witness something such as this, could they have been murdered to keep quiet? Especially if one of the boys was the one who threatened them two weeks before about keeping their mouths shut. JMO!

1. The comment from the reader re Mike being a bully. I wonder if they meant Dustyn? Dustyn (Spud) is the one whose mother filed a protective order against him and he's mentioned as having picked on someone's son on the Topix board. Mike is mentally challenged and I could be wrong, but after seeing him on the video I have a hard time picturing him as a bully. But I could be wrong.

2. The article this points to says: "One of those men is 19-year-old Mike Gaddy who lives near the girls. His parents tell the Oklahoman he was home at the time along with another suspect, 18-year-old Dustyn Dailey."

If Dustyn's mother filed a protective order in April, we know that Dustyn wasn't living with her in early June. So I wonder where he was staying (his father's, his own place, a friend's, etc.)?

These same questions come to my mind. I have always been haunted by the statement Rosser made about kids in the area.... and some not being able to be found for questioning, Something about being gone for the summer or something like that. I believe I saved the video. I think it was an early KOCO video, the first week.

Does anyone remember, in the beginning of the investigation, where the remark came from about Taylor having words with some kid? I know it was talked about alot, but I dont remember if it was here or the other place. I didnt get involved in this for about 2 weeks after it happened. I didnt even know about forums and the like. I sure would like to know where that story originated. Was it from rumor, or a news article? If anyone could help, I would like to explore this more.

What you have mentioned makes sense to me too, little. I think there was much rage behind these killings and when Taylor was shot.. the shots to the mouth could have been his depraved mentality at the time....thinking as he shot her in her mouth. "Lets see you run your mouth now..b*tch" (example)

If either of these three have conflicting and inconsistent statements then this pressure is going to get worse for them imo. If OSBI knows they have told different stories OSBI will be right back to applying pressure on them again....maybe even ratcheting it up this time..like never before.

It's funny how all the puzzle pieces are starting to fit together. All these rumours we have heard the past several weeks and then nothing. We thought the OSBI wasn't acting on them. However, the GJ didn't seem to make light of them. I still think they are on the right track but maybe they don't have the DNA evidence they need to be 100% sure. Does anyone think there is a "spy" in the next cell to Dylan? At some point he will talk. They all do.

Lauren, I would not be at all surprised to learn that the POI was dealing drugs to the Murderer(s). I also would not be surprised to learn that the POI accepted sexual favors from one (or possibly 2) of the murder(s). The sexual favors would have sufficed as payment for the drugs. I have never thought the POI killed the girls but, I definitely think he was in the area when the crime occurred. And maybe even had the weapons in his truck that were used to kill the girls. If the murderer(s) were high on meth, it would help explain the # of shots fired and possibly even the very graphic shots to the mandible and the groin.

I am so happy that there has been something happening with this case.

Wouldn't it be awesome if that were true.
However, IF the two men involved were Mike and Dustyn, I do not think the POI would be in extreme danger. Dustyn is in jail and has been since August, and Mike lives at home w/ his parents and it seems like his parents are actively involved in his life. This is pure speculation on my part and I have nothing to back up this opinion.

I also had another thought. You know how I said Dustyn had a little sister! Maybe she knew Taylor and Skyla. What if this whole thing was big brothers getting involved in a little girl feud. What if Taylor and Skyla got crosswise with Dustyn's sister and he decided to exact revenge!

From what it said about his family having a restraining order against him, it kind of made me wonder. He threatened to burn his family's house down. He threatened to kill them. It sounds to me like he has a hair-trigger temper!

My 15 year old granddaughter and her 16 year old friend came to visit and I told them about this case and asked for their thoughts on whether teenagers may have committed the murders.

Without hesitation, they both indicated teenagers COULD HAVE and WOULD HAVE killed these little girls if they had "snitched" on them. When asked about the "overkill" their answers were equally adament with the statement: "They don't care....teenagers today just don't care. They will take revenge and feel good about it."

I inquired further...But, would they keep quiet about it? Wouldn't they brag about it or something? To this they replied: "They may keep quiet or they might tell someone but it would probably be someone who thought they were cool and would keep their secret".

I can't tell you how chilling this conversation was. I like to think that I'm in touch with today's young people. It seems I've lost touch somewhere along the way because I never felt that youngsters could be this hard hearted and cold......

I wonder if "Mikey" was one of those that was harder to find (if he was "running from the cops again" as of July 12). Did they find him and where is he now? And it doesn't sound like some of those friends would call in a tip either if they knew something.

YVW...That conversation happened a couple of weeks ago and I sat on it.

Wanted to think it all through and consider teenage girl drama, etc., before sharing it.

I was totally unable to get away from how adamant and certain they were that teenagers COULD have done this. (I had always felt that it had to be hardened and seasoned criminals).
