The Amber alert has been canceled but it sounds like he's still with his mom? Not sure what that means.

The Chronical artical says that Mom is suspected to be suicidal. No further explanation or info, though.

Some states cancel Amber Alerts once the suspect has had time to drive out of state. Sometimes other states will issue an alert if there is information that the suspect is now in their state. The idea is that a motorist will see the vehicle and call it in.
