Michael Bizanowicz's name, face and troubled history as a convicted sex offender were splashed over the news outlets across the state after he was accused of the brutal murders of a Woburn mother and her 12-year-old daughter.

But his attorney wants the details of the murder in the district attorney's written outline of the case impounded to limit potentially damaging pretrial publicity.

At a hearing yesterday, defense attorney Stanley Norkunas told Middlesex Superior Court Judge Christopher Muse that for his client to receive a fair trial, the commonwealth's multipage "statement of the case'' should be impounded from public view to protect his client's rights.

Family and friends of Joanne and Alyssa Presti sat side-by-side in the front row of courtroom 10B of Cambridge's Middlesex Superior Court, facing the man who is charged with murdering their loved ones in their Totman Drive home three months ago

Noticeably dressed in a white button-down shirt with a red tie, black jacket, and gray slacks, suspected murderer Michael Bizanowicz, 41, of 7 Westford St. in Lowell, pleaded not guilty to three charges during a Friday morning arraignment at Middlesex Superior Court in Cambridge

Bizanowicz is not facing the DP, and he is still awaiting trial. Brother and uncle of the victims states he wishes the DP would apply.
