Butler County in Ohio has a program called "Kock Knock" where Social Services and LE team up and make random calls on folks that have children that are in social service's care.

Five people were arrested and seven children were removed due to child endangerment. All seven kids were removed from the same house. More at link. This may be a good idea, right?

I think that every visit from CPS should be unannounced. That's the only way they'll get to see how the kids are really cared for on a regular basis.

SusanOMG I do so agree with you! To announce their visits is just plain stupid. Gotta wonder how long it will take before someone gets a clue and realizes that perhaps by announcing their visits ahead of time allows for people to project a different atmosphere than what may be normal.

Can we say, duh?

I agree; unannounced visits are the only way it will work. Otherwise the families will just try to tidy up and program the kids what to say beforehand. If things are random; they lose that oppurtunity to cover up their bad.
