Does Intelius work for you guys? I've been able to find very limited info from them, then just when it looks like they have what you are looking for, you have to pay? Or am I doing something wrong? You guys are much better at this than I.

Try this one:

It sometimes gives name, address, phone number and birthdate for free. It you want more info, you have to pay. Birthdates don't always appear, but sometimes they do. :woohoo:

A friend of mine is dating a guy that she knows very little about. I suggested that she look him up. I have a feeling that he is married. Does anyone know how to see marriage license online? Thanks.

I am not real familiar with other states, but in Oklahoma you can to to OSCN (Oklahoma Supreme Court Network. Go to Search Dockets, chose all or a specific county, go down aways and put in last name, first name, then hit Search at the bottom. It shows marriage licenses, divorce, traffic tickets, court cases of all kinds. If the county is not listed, go to, I think it is Non-OCIS Counties and do your search there. I know on traffic tickets if the name is in blue you can hit on that and get more information on the person, i.e. address, age, description.

Also for prison records we can go to Oklahoma Corrections Department and search there. Gives all types of information.

Might check your state and see if they have this service.

He could have been married anywhere, not just in the state where he lives, so one would need to really check around. If she's desperate enough, it might be worth it to pay one of those background check agencies to do a search.

If he got married in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, their records are online. So are marriage records for St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana.

It's difficult to check recent marriage records than those of 40 to 5o years ago because many states protect the privacy for a certain amount of time.

You might want to search newspapers to see if there was an engagement/wedding/birth announcement in recent years. Many public libraries have access, albeit, not to very many newspapers around the country (you'll need a library card).

Business searches - find out what kind of business, how long in business, lots of information. A lot of business use Delaware to incorporate, a good place to look.

Property Valuation (add county needed) AKA - PVA
Make sure you get to the actual county site and not a pay for information site.
You can find out who owns property. Tax valuation amount. Some county's have pictures and other information.

I actually like Intelius. Unlike those sites that make you buy a subscription only to find out that they have none of the info you need, Intelius allows you to do a preliminary search, then pay for the specific information desired. Its takes some getting used to, I will admit.

I really like the property information search feature. I've found it comes in handy when researching the history of a certain address or neighborhood.

I prefer Anywho for reverse phone searches.

http://www.anywho.com

And Polk City Directories is another favorite. Used mostly by marketing professionals, you can enter an address and find who lives there, and the names, address, and phone numbers of surrounding neighbors, plus property values, and sometimes the household income and/or profession. They offer a free trial (without having to enter a credit card!), but after your trial is over you have to have a paid subscription.

Kentucky has a vital records index that was assembled by U of K. I have used it often in genealogy but I can see that it may have merit in sleuthing...possibly.

http://ukcc.uky.edu/vitalrec/

You can access the following records:
1. KENTUCKY DEATH INDEX FOR 1911-1986
2. KENTUCKY DEATH INDEX FOR 1987-1992
3. KENTUCKY MARRIAGE INDEX FOR 1973-1993
4. KENTUCKY DIVORCE INDEX FOR 1973-1993

A search of the death indexes brings up the death certificate number for order.

The marriage search can bring up a maiden name for a female. Give you a history of marriages.

The divorce search can tell you when, where the divorce was obtained.

Texas has a database of Marriages:

http://www.genlookups.com/texas_marriages/

This seach gives you:

File # | Groom | Groom's Age | Bride | Bride's Age | Marriage Date | County Code | County

Good way to locate maiden names if you need to do so.

Lots of good sites listed, thanks fellow sleuths.
I'll add one, too:

http://www.brbpub.com/freeresources/pubrecsites.aspx

This lists court records for every county in every state. It also has sites to check business licenses, etc...

Most records are free. There are just a few listed that are from private vendors and it tells you which ones are pay sites so you don't type in all the info then get a screen asking for your credit card info. I hate when that happens!!

I am a Private Investigator in TN. You guys have a lot of the free sites covered in this thread, You would be suprised at the amount of data you can find for free. However, there are a whole lot of sites that are scams as well, so be careful. Intellius is a great tool which i use on a daily basis, as well as Zabasearch and Pipl. There is another website, its not free, but each search is only one dollar, and you can seach by Social Security number among other things.. I use it quite often, www.skipmax.com (i dont work for them and dont get any money for sending you there)
As a P.I., i have access to a slew of databases that you have to be licensed to use. For example, IRB which in my opinion is the absolute best site to search for anything or anybody.
Sites like IRB amaze me on a daily basis. They have current addresses, jobs, cell phone numbers, relatives, assets. You name it, they have it.
If you have a legitimate need for certain information, i will consider the request. I am not looking to make money through this websleuths website, this is an awesome site and i am glad to help out. I will search for cost. Whatever it costs me, it costs you. My time is free, you only pay for the database searches.
I cant offer this to everyone, i am a busy guy, but i will help out whenever i can.
This is a legit offer, like i said, i cant help everyone but will do what i can.

It is interesting, half the info it listed was incorrect (2 of my kids are now older than their parents LOL) but some of the info was surprising to me - I know where it came from and it was supposed to be a secure site, the info freely given for anonymous use only! Not too happy about that!

I also have a question that I hope someone can help with. I was recently searching for a person and my sister (a computer genius and hacker) told me about this site/service called Where, Inc. It costs, I think $3 or $3.95 a month and is charged to your phone bill. You can text them and they text you back with the info you are looking for. I noticed that she must have signed me up for it as I've seen the charge on my phone bill. But I never had a chance to ask her how to use it! I don't know what number you text to or anything. I looked them up online and they do exist, but their website doesn't give any information about how to use the service. Anyone ever heard of this or know how to use it?

Where Inc doesn't do what your sister described to you.

"Where Inc. had originally tried to sell a service that would enable family members to get information about one another's location using their mobile devices; more recently, it has been focused on operating an advertising network that reaches mobile phone users, and promoting its own mobile app to help consumers find relevant businesses around them (and also potentially delivering discounts.) Doyle is the company's third CEO."

Source: Boston.com (http://www.boston.com/business/technology/innoeco/2011/04/paypal_shells_out_135_million.html?rss_id=Top+Stor ies).

I'm not sure why anyone would pay to receive ads on their cellphone, when they could do a Google search for the same thing.

The original "service" was widely criticized as a tool for stalkers, which would actually endanger people.

There are some websites that CLAIM to give you that information; however, before you trust them, look for yourself.

It's like that silly mylife.com ad "someone is looking for you - enroll and see".
They just told you to look for yourself, so of course there's results.

I've never found a free/cheap site to be anything but full of bad info.

Lexis/Nexis and the sites that cost a lot to use, are more accurate -- although mine's got some goofs.

I think we're better off looking at "contacts" and what those contacts mean - rather than trying to delve into the private lives of people who aren't even named as POIs (....'cos that's against the TOS).

BeavisMom62

Thanks for the support. January 6 is now Shea Saenger's sentencing date for Mail Fraud unless it is delayed yet again. It was October 2 then October 14 then December 2 and Now January 6.

It has been over two years since I began this and while I know where most of the money that was stolen by Shea Saenger went we have yet to recover any of it. Her relatives in Arkansas, Lousiana and Mississippi are just fighting with delaying tactics trying to hang on to as much of it as then can for as long as they can. The big money is in Arkansas and our 1st trial there is set for June 2012.

Pres release from the US Attorneys' Office in Seattle (http://www.justice.gov/usao/waw/press/2012/jan/saenger.html)

It is not as much time as we wanted but it is more than we expected so I’ll call it a victory. The plea agreement called for 46 months which is what she got. What she did not get was credit for 6 and half served served on a Contempt of Court charge in Kittitas County. We were told months ago that the judge would give her credit for that time served but today he did not.

Now all I have left to deal with are four civil suits against Saenger’s relatives and their counter suits against me

It never ceases to amaze me how much evil exists in this world, here you have a family just full of it. Karma will get them, I hope the courts do too. Congratulations on your win today. :)

There are a lot of things that I could say about this branch of the Lumpkin family but I cannot do it with out just sounding petty and mean.

I would like to take credit for the win but truth is we had some amazing good luck. One of the best things that happened was the US Postal Inspector who was assigned to investigate. She has been fantastic and I think to a certain extent she had to drag the US Attorney along kicking and screaming. I really believe that if a different person had been assigned we would have had a different out come.

Some months back I wrote the Chief Postal Inspector commending her and I also put a plug in for her with our congressional delegation. She deserves more than that but that is all I can do.

hope it's ok to ask on this thread - does anyone know about how much a P.I. would cost in Texas? just for a background check, but more in depth than i could find from some place such as intelius.com? i have only the person's name, birth date and possible address, and i'm not sure that's enough info to get a complete check in other states and everything (plus can't be sure i'd get the correct person). so, i thought a p.i. might be better; but wondering about cost (?)

Jason Pederson with KATV-7 in Little Rock AR did a great story about my father's case. It originally aired on 11.08.11 and Jason just won the Edward R Murrow award for investigative reporting for region 9.

The video is on YouTube now From Washington - with love

:jail:Shea Saenger's sister and her husband, Bo and Ronnie Parker, were both arrested Wednesday May 30 in Prairieville LA. The charge was possession of stolen property, They both made bail and were back out the same day but at least they got arrested and had to stand in front of a judge even if was only for a few minutes.

:truce:Brother Mark Lumpkin and his wife Rosemary in Arkansas have reached an agreement with the US Attorneys Office in Seattle to forfeit all of their farm equipment (Proceeds of Mail Fraud).

:truce:Nephew Chris Haycraft and his wife Glenda have had their house seized by the US Attorneys Office along with sister Debbie Trotter's mobile home. Again, proceeds of mail fraud.

:jail:I was back in Kittitas County Superior Court today for another failed attempt by Shea Saenger’s attorney to have her Contempt of Court status lifted. The judge refused to do that but he did release Saenger to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. If she has not cured the contempt by the time she finishes her sentence for mail fraud she will come straight back to Kittitas County jail. AND the judge agreed today that we are entitled to legal fees for having to deal with the contempt motions filed by her and her attorney in an amount yet to be determined.

Butler v Saenger (http://www.butlervsaenger.com)

The Butler V Haycraft case in Mississippi is finally settled:woohoo:

In Butler V Lumpkin in Arkansas, the Lumpkins have filed for bankruptcy. Auction of all of the farm equipment will take place on July 26, 2012 in Wabash AR. The farm equipment represents the bulk of the $1.2 million the Lumpkins received from Shea Saenger's mail fraud.

Shea Saenger is currently in the Benton County jail in Kennewick WA, serving time for mail fraud and contempt of court.

The Lumpkin auction did not do as well as I had hoped. Net proceeds were just over $780,000 and I was hoping for around $900,000. Anyway that part is done, all the equipment has been turned into cash money and it is in the hands of the bankruptcy trustee. Next step is to slug it out in bankruptcy court as to how that gets divided up and argue about how much the Lumpkins get to protect under the bankruptcy exemptions. My position on that issue is that it should be none since everything they have is the proceeds of mail fraud.

The latest one that's actually a little bit alarming is spokeo.com

You would be wise to type in your name and have your profile removed via the "privacy" link at the bottom right hand. It not only gives all of your public info, it gives the names of your children, your income level, credit rating, a photo of your house and more.

Scary!

Having said that, I use it...;)
I must say I have used the spokeo site many times and am GLAD there was a post to get rid of my information... *shudder*

Dear Senator:

I cannot speak for everyone about about control, I can only speak from my own experience.

I have managed to get Shea Saenger charged and convicted of Mail Fraud and she currently resides in the Federal Correctional Institution in Waseca MN. During the last 4 years while pursuing this case we found that Saenger was a convicted murderer from the state of Arkansas.

In spite of the prior murder conviction, being in possession of a rifle, tying to get a third party to buy a handgun for her and stealing a handgun from my father the US Attorney would NOT charge her with any gun related offenses.

Instead of passing any more laws about about guns I strongly encourage you to begin enforcing the ones that are already there.
