India-looking for Robert Wylie Harris

Am desperately looking for an US citizen,Robert Wylie Harris,bornon june8 1949,also known as Mark or Mark Ozias.
Very tall,about 90kgs,grey/blue eyes,grey hair (balding),big scar on right side of forehead.
MY last contact with him was on sept 9 2007.From Mumbai,where he was then living (I believe he might still be there or in India,but might havegone back to San Francisco)he sent me a very disquieting email:he was totally beside himself,accused me of wanting to destroy him (thing totally unlike him)then literally vanished.
After 15 months of silence,after having unsuccessfully asked for help to indian authorities,I decidedto post and ad here,hoping to be helped.
I'm very concerned for his wellbeing.
He is involved with a very dangerous religious cult,THE FAMILY akaChildren of God.When hevanished,Iwas trying to help him to get out of there (thing that he had unsuccessfully tried to do many times).
I'm convinced,for reasonsthat would be too long to explain here,that the sect isbehind a disappearance that is not at all voluntary and sounds very suspicious.
The sect's attitude wasn't cooperative,on the contrary.
The main officein USA,after 15 mails in a week,let me knowthat NO ONE with that name EVER was a member of their "church".Strange,since Mr Harris has been with them for more than 30 years!
As you see,there are reasons of concern.

ojanaway - are you family or just friend? Have you filed a missing persons report? You may need a family member to do this for you, I don't know.

If Mr. Harris has been with this cult for 30+ years and you have some proof of that, you may want to take the proof and the denial of his membership to the authorities, both overseas and here in the US.

Also, pictures of him could be helpful or a link to a website with pictures of him?

first of allthanksfor having takentimefor me.These months have been pretty lonely and hard.
Mr Harris is not my relative,but ismore important than a relative to me.
I love him very much and am literally theonly person in the world who cares for him.
He has a brother in Germany and a twin sister in San Francisco,but they won't lift afinger for him.He was always an embarassment forthem and their successful careers andrich friends and businessassociates.I tried to contact his sister a number of times,never got an answer.His first exwife and 2 kids from first marriage won't have anything to do with him.They left The Family and lead their lives in England and USA.
As you see,Ican't expect help form that side.
I wrote to Mumbai and Kolkata police last year,providing evidence,telling facts,and so on.Kolkatainvestigated for a week (so they say)then Inever had any news from them.You have to realize that The Family is very powerful in countrieslike India:many journalists of the main newspaper "Times of India"areon their payroll,and alsopoliceofficers.With "bakshish" (hindi wordfor giftin money)you can silence everyone,and I'm just alonely woman against one ofthemost powerful sects after Scientology.
Iwas in Indiafor 2 months 3 years ago,lived with Robert all day and saw what'sgoing on there.
I could tell you alot ofthings,but time is atyrant as we say in Italy.
Somebody suggested me to contact ex Family members for help,and I'll doit.

If you feel like they are holding your friend against his will, or he's been brainwashed, I think contacting the authorities is the way to go, or get in touch with organizations that deal with cults, and help getting people away from them.

10 days ago,I received an information about Robert,according to which he was in Santa Rosa,California.I checked,but it was a blind alley.

Yesterday there was a strange development in this story.
Last summer Imet a woman who had been 20 years in TF then escaped and works in an antisect center(so she says).She shared my views about Robert,was supportive and sympathetic;when Itold her was I was doing to find him,she granted help;Exactly one week ago,she told me she had posted an ad for Robert in an exmembers forum (I didn't ask her to).
Yesterday,unexpectedly,the music abruptly changed.
She wrote me and told me I was making too much fuss over nothing,that there wasno certainty Robert really disappeared and that I had to drop the matter "for yr loved one's sake".
Now,if Robert didn't disappear,why,after sept 2007,in 2 months the chief of Renaissance Home in Mumbai and his righthand man bothered to make at least 20 threatening phone calls form India to Italy,and stoppedonly when I threatened to involve Mumbai police and media?Why,in the same period,my mail address wasviolated and important messages deleted?If somebody stops contacting somebody else ofhis own free will,there iscertainly no need of such shenanigan.
Unfortunately I've known TF for years and this mail is totally Family-style,implicit threats included.
According to me,this isfurther evidence that Robert didn't disappear voluntarily,and I'm more determined than ever to know what became ofhim.

Dear Kat,
thanks for yr concern.Up to now,the threats stopped.Ican't say there won't be other phone calls,or maybe mails.Right now,for months things have gone smoothly.TF knows very well I am a mastiff and won't give up.I'm sure they'll find away to try tostop me.The mail I received yesterday is evidence I'mannoying them a lot.
When I still was in India,Renaissance Home chief managed to send slanderous mails about me to my relatives.I canonly thank God they were too intelligent fo fall in the trap,but it was a close call and left scars.
I've known Tf for 34 years,and they marked me forever.
I vowed that,until I'll be able to,I'll give them no quarter,and they know that.
The most important thing for me now is not only Robert,but expose them for what they are,and people like you,who read my posts and know my story,really help me to go on.Thanks again.Odette

Hi there ojanaway, welcome to WS. I am sorry that you are missing 'your love' of so many years and are unable to locate him or get cooperation from his family.

That being said....please understand, I mean no ill will...but it is very difficult for us to research and locate someone that is not listed as missing or presumed dead. This is a crime forum, and we really have no way to verify any claims made in this 'story'. No missing reports to review, no LE to discuss with, no DNA, no crime.
