reward of up to $6,000 is being offered by Jaguar Transportation Inc., the White Oak Church of God in Christ (COGIC) and the Mount Pleasant Crime Stoppers for information leading to the location of Darius Jamel "D.J." Brown, a Titus County resident who has been missing since Jan. 31 of this year.

"We know someone out there knows where this young man is," said Titus County Sheriff Tim Ingram at a press conference held Thursday at the White Oak COGIC, located on CR 1697.

Brown, 23, was last seen near the church in the 8000 block of FM 2152 (Greenhill Road) wearing red pants and a red-and-white coat.

A father and son walking home from a fishing trip discovered a decomposing body hanging in an abandoned house in rural East Texas...

...Based on the clothing found on the body, investigators think the remains may be that of Darius Jamal Brown, a man who hasn't been seen since Jan. 31.

There have been no follow up articles that I could find. I have searched all local papers and their archives.

I did find Darius' obituary.

Darius Jamel Brown, 22, of Mount Pleasant, died in Mount Pleasant.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Piney Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co.

Mr. Brown was born on March 29, 1986, in Mount Pleasant and attended Mount Pleasant public schools. He was a life time resident of Mount Pleasant...
