 Seriously. Come on. Well, at least the baby was never in danger.

The police investigation showed that Elisa LaCroix and her husband Kaid LaCroix were in the process of divorce and she feared that he would take custody of their son, Ethan prior to his deployment overseas with the US Army, which is scheduled in the next few days. According to investigators, Elisa hatched a plan to hide the child with a friend, Amelia Cameron until Kaid had deployed.

Elisa LaCroix has been arrested on charges of Violation of Conditions of Release and False Information or Report for making the false abduction report. She was remanded to Anchorage Jail on $2000 cash only bail. Investigators found no indication that Kaid LaCroix had any knowledge of the false abduction and that Amelia Cameron did not know that Elisa LaCroix was going to file a child abduction report.

Well - here's my take on this - mom's nuts and dad should not be deployed. He needs to stay home and take care of this baby. Alternatively, maybe the baby's grandparents can take him? I don't know, but this baby should not go back to mom. At least not until she gets some really good therapy!

I am happy he was fine and never in any danger. Poor little tyke.

Mom gets 4 years for faking baby's kidnapping

A judge sentenced an Anchorage woman to four years in prison Friday for faking her baby's kidnapping.

Elisa Lacroix pleaded guilty to falsely reporting the abduction. Her attorney says Lacroix staged the kidnapping to keep her husband from taking custody of the child in a divorce.
