A 14 year-old Olive Branch, Mississippi boy is missing and his family needs your help to find him.

Turbyfill is an eighth grade student at Olive Branch Middle School, a football player, track star and boxing champion.

"He's real competitive and he loves to spar. He loves the sport and it's just not the same without him here," says Coach John Bryant.

Bryant has now made it his mission to help Turbyfill’s grandfather find this teen after the boy disappeared last week.

"I was grilling out back and he was up in his bedroom," says Jerry Turbyfill. "My youngest grandson came in and I told him and his brother to come down to supper and he said 'papaw he's not here, he left a little while ago,'" says the teen’s legal guardian. "Hunter is the type of kid who will walk around until he gets his anger over with and comes home and everything is fine, but this time he didn't come home."

Turbyfill has not been back to school and left home with no money or clothes. His grandfather hopes he is alright.

"It's hard you know, it's hard. I love him, he's my life. I hope he's ok. I just need him to come home."

Hunter Turbyfill was last seen walking in the area of Booker Street near Old Highway 178 and Magnolia Street. He is 5’2” and 100 pounds with blue eyes and light brown curly hair.

At the time he was last seen, he was wearing jeans and a blue “American Eagle” hooded sweatshirt. Turbyfill has a small scar on his right cheek.

Hi, just a thought, that sometimes the kids just talk these sorts of things up, amongst one another - Just because they know the lingo, doesn't always mean that they're into the drug...

I just know that in my son's friends' peer group, this sort of talk is plain to see on message boards, but we have enough of a handle on things to appreciate that he isn't actually up to anything, and we would know the signs if he were, if you understand my wibbling on?

I am very concerned about Hunter's case - He seems to have been pretty well known on the boxing scene from photos on the 'net... Might he have been targeted?

Don't have the answer to your question, sorry, but I notice that whoever set up the Myspace for Hunter, to be added as a friend you have to know the surname or other details of the person who set it up - Is that the usual sort of procedure with a Missing Persons page on Myspace in your experience?

I wish this were more about getting lots of info out about Hunter, posters, links, and so on...

I live just outside of Memphis. On our local news we often hear about things happeneing in MS because it is just over the state line. Very close. I have never heard anything about this little boy.

Thank you Rebel, I sometimes wonder why some cases get the maximum attention, and others, like Hunter's are just left to their own devices...

Someone knows something, this is a 14 year old boy, living with grandpop, it seems, estranged from mom, if what we read is correct - They can't just go missing without someone knowing what they last said, where they last were, what was on their mind, what they had with them, and why isn't there more media attention on this child's case?

I dont recall ever seeing a myspace page for someone missing that was set to private..I mean, what good does it do unless you think only people you know that are on there as friends know anything about the missing person? I wouldnt be oppossed to sending a message asking them...maybe they aernt too familiar with MS and dont know how to change the privacy settings?

And...I am really concerned about this kid. 14 is awfully young to be gone this long. And at 14, how many contacts can he have outside of his friends? Im assuming the only other ones would be older people in the boxing industry that he was a part of. And since no one is talking that scares me even more :0

The reason that the find Hunter myspace that you're referring to is set to private is because of his age. That myspace has 14 set as the age (because that's how old Hunter is) and on MySpace one of their privacy features is to automatically set users under 16 or so (I think it's 16, it may be 15) as a private MySpace. It does so automatically, therefore, whoever set it up may not even realize it's like that. The only way to change it is to change the age or to go to your account settings and change it manually.

nottobeknown - 3/20/2009 My daughter who is friends with some of Hunter's friends have told her he is with his mother and thought they said he was in Missouri with her. I don't know how true this is because teenagers aren't always honest. Seems I read his mother lived in Memphis but I am not sure of that either. I don't want my daughter in trouble with these other kids but if someone could call OBPD and tell them to talk to his friend Caleb and Dakota. I am not sure of their last names but they live in Magnolia Estates. Caleb lives on Oak Leaf. He claims to have talked to Hunter since he has been gone.

Can we assume that the Moderator at the newspaper will pass on those comments raised by nottobeknown to the Police, or do you think the reason we're not hearing anything is because they are already looking into this boy running off to his mom?

Even if he is into marijuana it doesn't matter. He is a child and he is missing! His family love and miss him. A few other things he did not have his cell phone. His dad passed away in 2001.
