Schnabel said that she and Cantu have set up a Chase bank account where people can donate money that will go to the family after the girl is found. She said Cantu has raised $1,500 so far. The account number is 446-091-4679, a bank employee said, and the phone number for the bank is 836-1490.

“We need all the help, all the supplies and all the volunteers,” Cantu said.

father of missing 8-year-old Sandra Cantu said that he passed a polygraph test at the Tracy police department earlier today.

Police could not be reached for comment Cantu said that he felt like he was treated more like a suspect by the media than like a parent looking for his child.

Boy Nurse - I have no idea about the Mercury/Pisces connection and the actual movement of the planets in the sky. Definitely a question for Tuba/Soulscape/Housemouse or FifthEssence. I know astrology and astronomy "work together" but that's the extent of my knowledge. I just love to read about the planets and pick them out in the sky when I can. :)

The activity is not a roadblock, just asking people if they've seen anything.
Does not know what led to search of mobile home today.

One person named in search warrant, one person came to LE, will not comment if those are related or the same person.
LE stopped by Sandra's house today just to comfort and inform them. Also other LE went to house, but he doesn't know what that was about.

Local media was on phone with HLN saying they saw the man being led away in handcuffs. I think he may be a different guy than the one the spokesman at the presser was talking about.
Maybe this happened: Person comes voluntarily to LE today (like spokesman said,) gives info, which leads to search warrant and arrest of a man (that media saw).

There are many different types of abductions used in statistics. Most are by family members or friends. Things like an old man holding kids by gunpoint on his farm for a couple hours because they are trespassing and he is mean and crazy and wants to teach them a lesson, are considered kidnapping. So is someone holding a child against his or her will in a store, etc.. In other words, many things are considered child abduction that do not fall under the classic definition of a stranger snatching a child for ransom or to molest and kill.
My point is that even though I think it is worth it to be very vigilant, sometimes people exaggerate the issue. Epidemic is like 1 in 7 people being affected by whatever it is, IMO.

News from searches is often kept hush, hush until whatever is found can be tied to the case. If it is Sandra, they would need to tell her family first. Heaven forbid that they should find out from the news media. Sometimes articles of clothing or other types of evidence are found, and the info is not released until LE can say whether it is pertinent to the case or not. Like the T-shirt. We didn't hear about it until LE said that Sandra's mother said it was NOT Sandra's.

I'm sure confused about a lot of things in this case! But I don't think it would be unusual for someone who is guilty (not saying this man is) to put up a huge front searching and supporting the family and LE. It's happened lots of times before.

Police this afternoon drove off with David S., 44, after searching his home at space No. 43 in the mobile home park where an 8-year-old Tracy girl went missing exactly a week ago. FBI agents and Tracy detectives pulled items from the home in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park and packed them into a white crime-scene truck.

The Tracy man lives with his wife, Debra S., and a son. A missing-persons poster with a picture of second-grader Sandra Cantu was pasted on the S.’s front window.

DS. was quoted in the Stockton Record expressing concern for the missing girl.

If this was Sandra they found... there could possibly be many hours of confirmations, etc... if you are in the area of "tracy blvd" where your friend said she was found perhaps drive by and see if there is increased police activity????

What is it with everyone telling this child to watch out for predators? That's just weird! Then to top it off, she is taken by one. Something just doesn't make sense here. It sounds like something that would happen to a neglected child who doesn't have a parent who cares, but I haven't heard anything of the sort about her home life. What is it with everyone telling this child to watch out for predators? That's just weird! Then to top it off, she is taken by one. Something just doesn't make sense here. Seems to me that, considering they found 3 - 5 very suspicious men in that tiny trailer park, the warnings may have been understandable. Also, I think that Sandra was so friendly towards people and so beautiful, that it occurred to people that one of the many neighborhood pervs might hurt her some day.
The creepy thing to me, though, is a grown man unrelated to her saying such a thing to her. If a grown man had said that to any of my children when they were young, I'd have spoken to him and gotten to the bottom of it. Seems lewd and over the boundaries.

IIRC they stated in the presser that it was to catch people today (Friday) the same day she went missing last week and ask them if they saw/heard anything different last Friday. They do it on the same day to try to get the same commuters that were there last week.

TRACY - FBI agents raided another home and towed two cars in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park today in their search for missing 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, who disappeared from the trailer park last Friday.
Authorities also questioned David Slayter, 44, whose home agents searched today. They also towed two cars registered under his name.

MK is incredible. The horrific murder of his daughter changed him from, in his own words, a rather superficial and shallow guy who just thought about making money, to a driven, intense, passionate, beautiful crusader for victims and potential victims. But, he said he would take back that shallow guy in a minute if he could just get his dear sweet kid back.

More than 150 people, including the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Boating Safety Unit and a search and rescue team from Contra Costa County, are expected to search yet-to-be disclosed locations in and around Tracy this weekend while volunteers continue to wallpaper the area with fliers featuring pictures of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu.

3a. LE immediately began searching mobile home park.

4. LE notified press approximately 2:00 a.m.
5. One POI - FW had contact (kiss) w/Sandra 2 years ago. Neighbor reported that he often drove by and stared at Sandra's home.
6. Family says they filed complaint about this kiss with LE and as far as they know, nothing was ever done.
7. LE says they have NOT reviewed the original complaint, but that they will as soon as Sandra is found.
8. LE has searched FW's home, business and confiscated his vehicles.
9. 2nd POI - CS - not sure why this guy raised LE's hinky meter. CS was arrested for Obstruction of Justice when LE was trying to execute a search warrant at his home. LE has confiscated his vehicles.
10. 3rd POI for which we STILL do not have a name. Cousin to CS. Lives in Oakdale. LE has apparently thoroughly searched his home. Do we know anything else about this guy?
11. 4th POI - DS, lives in No. 43. Not sure what raised LE's hinky meter on this one either. DS says he warned Sandra about "some adults." LE has searched his home and confiscated 2 of his vehicles.
12. T-shirt found in garbage at transfer station, but does not appear to be connected, although LE is testing the shirt. Do we know that the garbage the shirt was found in, came from the area of the trailer park?
13. Dad has long record and has spent time at Pelican Bay, apparently a "hard-core" prison. Dad has indicated he has taken a poly. Dad showed up on Sunday, March 29th, and then took a quick trip down to Mexico. Dad is back by Tuesday, April 2nd. Dad has voluntarily been going to the police station on a daily basis.
14. Video of Sandra to be released in the morning showing her leaving her house (hope it gives us a clue or two).
15. We can be fairly certain that Sandra did not leave the trailer park on her own - so she was either driven out or she is still there - unless, someone dumped her over the back fence (is there even a back fence?) and then went around and picked her up or climbed over the fence and took her up by the river?

That wouldn't seem so weird to me as telling the girl herself. I've told that to moms before who let their kids wander unsupervised. Now that I think of it, I recall one woman who had a real problem with me telling her that her 3 year old child was not safe wandering all over the several acre church & parking lot every Sunday while she chatted after the service. I guess I wasn't considering that some of these people may have told the mother first, and hit a dead end. In that case, I would tell the child also.

We go to a different church now so hope someone is watching out for that little girl.

To those who know her, 8-year-old Sandra Cantu is the epitome of the friendly, personable girl next door, but friends and family members hope that someone didn't take advantage of the second grader's trusting nature. Cops in Tracy, Calif. say Sandra went missing on March 28, 2009 and now the FBI has joined the effort to find her.

Another video on the site which starts, "Parents of Missing..." and is 4:00 minutes has him telling Sandra he loves her, and then pleads with the kidnapper saying he doesn't have to turn himself in, just let Sandra go.

These just seem logical and make sense to me.

I have not seen those comments on the t.v. That is heartbreaking but yes finally, a parent who says something that doesn't send your hinky meter rising.

Mr. Cantu, when your child is missing the parents are the first ones to be ruled out. And given your *cough* record....talk is just what they will do. You may find the talk tough... but the talk is maybe even tougher on persons already named POIs in this case.

I'm not saying he is innocent, but I would think that if he were guilty he would stay in Mexico where he can't be extradited back to the states.

When I went to school there were quite a few Mexican nationals that would come to US for college and then go back to Mexico when they got there degree. But other than that it seems weird that he would be going back and forth between Mexico.

Do we have any idea why the mother and father divorced?

Oh, I remember that too. I didn't want to even think of it again but I'll never forget that either. It's at times like that that you really, really, really wish the bailiffs would just let the family have at em' for at least a few minutes, ya' know? Okay - what do we have as of now?

1. Sandra left home approximately 4:00 p.m.
2. Mom called LE approximately 8:00 p.m.
3a. LE immediately began searching mobile home park.
3b. Dogs made a hit at the edge of Old River. I believe these were cadaver dogs, right?
4. LE notified press approximately 2:00 a.m.
5. One POI - FW had contact (kiss) w/Sandra 2 years ago. Neighbor reported that he often drove by and stared at Sandra's home.
6. Family says they filed complaint about this kiss with LE and as far as they know, nothing was ever done.
7. LE says they have NOT reviewed the original complaint, but that they will as soon as Sandra is found.
8. LE has searched FW's home, business and confiscated his vehicles.
9. 2nd POI - CS - not sure why this guy raised LE's hinky meter. CS was arrested for Obstruction of Justice when LE was trying to execute a search warrant at his home. LE has confiscated his vehicles.
10. 3rd POI for which we STILL do not have a name. Cousin to CS. Lives in Oakdale. LE has apparently thoroughly searched his home. Do we know anything else about this guy?
11. 4th POI - DS, lives in No. 43. Not sure what raised LE's hinky meter on this one either. DS says he warned Sandra about "some adults." LE has searched his home and confiscated 2 of his vehicles.
12. T-shirt found in garbage at transfer station, but does not appear to be connected, although LE is testing the shirt. Do we know that the garbage the shirt was found in, came from the area of the trailer park?
13. Dad has long record and has spent time at Pelican Bay, apparently a "hard-core" prison. Dad has indicated he has taken a poly. Dad showed up on Sunday, March 29th, and then took a quick trip down to Mexico. Dad is back by Tuesday, April 2nd. Dad has voluntarily been going to the police station on a daily basis.
14. Video of Sandra to be released in the morning showing her leaving her house (hope it gives us a clue or two).
15. We can be fairly certain that Sandra did not leave the trailer park on her own - so she was either driven out or she is still there - unless, someone dumped her over the back fence (is there even a back fence?) and then went around and picked her up or climbed over the fence and took her up by the river?

What am I leaving out?

I want to give Danistar a break. She's simply reporting what she heard and she was very clear that it could be a false rumor and that she sincerely hoped it was false. She gave all the info she could to us and was as candid as she could be. I don't want to discourage people from reporting what they hear, even if it does turn out to be rumor because that might end up tarnishing our reputation here at WS of getting all the info first. Local input is often very valuable. What drives me crazy is the first person who spreads a tall tale as if it was fact. I just don't think Danistar is one of those people.

I just think family would be the last to do that. I still don't always speak of my dear dad who died last August in the past tense. JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST (voice-over): Tonight, beautiful 8-year-old Sandra Cantu now missing for a week. Neighborhood sweeps come up empty after searching waste dumps and water. But the biggest clue may be the Web. Cops canvassing about 60 people near the Cantu home who they believe looked at child porn. Is this on top of the 80 registered sex offenders in the town? Are these stats typical for America?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Shocking information in the desperate search for 8- year-old California girl Sandra Cantu tonight. One week and still no trace at all of this beautiful little girl who vanished last Friday in broad daylight after playing with a friend. The second grader was last seen in her mobile park community wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings.

Cops frantically looking for any signs of Sandra, sending out helicopters, going through the town`s trash, and dredging through rivers. Then came this surprising announcement from investigators.

LT. JEREMY WATNEY, TRACY POLICE DEPARTMENT: A Hello Kitty T-shirt was found in the transfer station as they were going through the trash. However, when a picture was shown to Mom, she said it wasn`t her daughter`s T-shirt.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Authorities will run tests on the shirt just to be certain. But you have to wonder: what a coincidence that a little girl vanishes with a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and a similar T-shirt, Hello Kitty, found in the trash. We`ll analyze that one.

Cops identify 60 people living in Sandra`s community who view or exchange child porn. That`s not all. And they say 78 registered sex offenders live in this town. Is this typical of America as a whole? What`s going on here? And what is the likelihood one of these people are related to her mysterious disappearance?

Straight out to my fantastic panel: Dr. Dale Archer, clinical psychologist; Wendy Murphy, former prosecutor and author of "And Justice for Some"; plus Drew Findling, Atlanta criminal defense attorney; and Vinny Parco, a private investigator. ERIC FIRPO, "THE TRACY PRESS": Well, the latest is that, you know, they continue to search. And they haven`t found the girl, and they`ve made no arrests in the case.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right. Well, they held a news conference, and they announced she has a birthmark on her cheek, did they not? What did they say about that?

FIRPO: They did. They showed a photograph. You could actually barely see it. So -- but she has a little kind of a dark mole on her right cheek.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Now, Doctor -- OK. So they said that that`s a distinctive feature, Eric, and that people out there looking for a child should look for this distinctive -- tell us what it is again?

FIRPO: Well, it`s a little -- it`s actually not that dark and it was very difficult to see in the photo, but they do -- she does have a little mole on her right cheek.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right. Dr. Dale Archer, I want to ask you about this Hello Kitty T-shirt. It seems astounding, as astounding coincidence, that this little girl`s last seen in a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt, and they find a Hello Kitty T-shirt in the trash, but the mother says that`s not the same T-shirt.

My question to you is could she be in shock? Could she be in denial? Could it be too difficult for her on an emotional level to acknowledge that that could be her daughter`s shirt, given the implications? Or is it possible that it`s just a wild coincidence?

DR. DALE ARCHER, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST: You know, I mean, I think it`s possible that she could be in that much shock, but I think it`s unlikely. And I think that we would have to assume that the mother would know the exact shirt that her daughter was wearing.

And I don`t know how many different versions of these T-shirts there are, but I would take it at face value and say, you know what? This is probably true. It`s probably not the shirt. A shocking coincidence, but I don`t think it`s the case.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So going back to Eric, were both T-shirts pink?

FIRPO: Yes, they were pink. She was last seen wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings. And they really thought this was the big break in the case, actually. They were talking about that today, but it`s not the shirt.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Wow.

FIRPO: As far as they`re concerned, they`ve moved on. It`s not the shirt. They`re not looking at the shirt anymore. They will test it, just to be, you know, 100 percent certain, but really, they don`t think it was the shirt. So...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Wendy Murphy, what do you make of it?

WENDY MURPHY, FORMER PROSECUTOR: Well, you know, I have a 7-year-old who loves Hello Kitty. And Hello Kitty T-shirts really are different. They come in a variety of styles, and they are mostly all pink. So it may well be nothing.

But I think it`s interesting that they`re pointing out the mole on the cheek, and we`re talking about child pornography, Jane. Because if you clip a kid, and you`re trying to either sell her for sex or porn, one of the things you`re going to do is dye her hair, try to make her look different. But you can`t easily get rid of a mole. So I think it`s telling. I think it`s important that people understand that.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I have to say you`re right: the FBI is already involved. The FBI searched the home of a man in the mobile home park, and this man`s name, Christian Sinclair. He was arrested Monday for allegedly interfering with the investigation but was later cited and released.

Three vehicles connected to him have already been seized. And we are learning that he has had more than one restraining order against him.

Eric, what do authorities have to say about this individual and his past, particularly regarding the restraining orders? And I have to stress, this man is not considered a suspect. You know, everybody`s going to have a past, and you talk to people. Things are going to come up. Doesn`t mean he`s involved. But what do you know about this guy, Eric?

FIRPO: OK. Well, he has had a couple of restraining orders against him, including his own parents took out a restraining order in 2004 against the guy because -- and they said -- they, you know, said in the form that they filled out that he was a drug abuser and an alcoholic.

And another restraining order from a woman who also lives in the mobile home park the year before, you know, described a very violent and abusive guy.

But let me get back to Dr. Dale Archer. What do you make of that explanation? Could it have just been a moment where he did something inappropriate because he wasn`t thinking?

ARCHER: You know, I mean, it`s hard to deal with comments just on one statement like that. But, boy, it doesn`t sound good. You know? It doesn`t sound good.

MURPHY: Good answer.

I noticed Sandra's aunt as well, but gave her the benefit of the doubt because in the part I heard she also mentioned a trip they made to Disneyland which was in the past. Perhaps she just got confused as she transitioned? Or am I giving her too much credit?

I don't recall hearing about a trailer, just the house which is owned by the cousin of CS. There was a boat in the driveway that they searched, but that was the only non-house searched that I recall. Perhaps with there being a trailer park involved in Tracy, "trailer" was mentioned in place of "house" by mistake?

Not to worry danistar5. We are all chomping at the bit to hear something, anything about Sandra being found. You clarified in your post that you could not find any confirmation for what you heard and that you were also looking for info.

There were so many miscommunications in the Caylee searches, it made my head spin. There was also a LOT of stuff that was found that had no connection whatsoever to Caylee's case. We would all get worked up, only to later hear it was all nothing.

I have come to the conclusion that the best thing to do is wait for either confirmation or a second source with the same story.

Hi Gitana, Thanks for that. I know she was was seen on camera walking out of her area, and if she was taken by a stranger, it seems she would have presented the perfect scenario. These predators grab someone when the situation is in their favor. A little girl walking down the side of the road, all alone, no one else within sight, that is how they work.

Well Danistar don't feel bad, thanks for sharing. I'm very glad, as I'm sure everyone else is that there is still hope for this little baby. I really hope if nothing else, this OPENS THE EYES to every parent that lives in or near that mobile home park.

My husband had some weird thing happen a couple of months ago at his store. He had some guys outside asking for money (soliciters) and they were starting to bug his customers and the customers complained. So he called it in to the local police, who he says are great and they came out right away. Turns out the three guys out there soliciting for "money for the poor" were actually all registered sex offenders who were not allowed to be hanging out together. Needless to say they were taken away....BUT this just opened my eyes. You never know what agenda people have -- they could have been really looking for money for the poor - or they could have been up to something entirely different as well. Just wanted to share that as I was pretty freaked!

IIRC, volunteers to search for Sandra will meet at 8 a.m. today, and a press conference is scheduled to begin at 10:30. At the press conference, I believe the cc video of the mobile home park showing Sandra just before she disappeared will be released.

Okay - what do we have as of now?

1. Sandra left home approximately 4:00 p.m.
2. Mom called LE approximately 8:00 p.m.
3a. LE immediately began searching mobile home park.
3b. Dogs made a hit at the edge of Old River. I believe these were cadaver dogs, right?
4. LE notified press approximately 2:00 a.m.
5. One POI - FW had contact (kiss) w/Sandra 2 years ago. Neighbor reported that he often drove by and stared at Sandra's home.
6. Family says they filed complaint about this kiss with LE and as far as they know, nothing was ever done.
7. LE says they have NOT reviewed the original complaint, but that they will as soon as Sandra is found.
8. LE has searched FW's home, business and confiscated his vehicles.
9. 2nd POI - CS - not sure why this guy raised LE's hinky meter. CS was arrested for Obstruction of Justice when LE was trying to execute a search warrant at his home. LE has confiscated his vehicles.
10. 3rd POI for which we STILL do not have a name. Cousin to CS. Lives in Oakdale. LE has apparently thoroughly searched his home. Do we know anything else about this guy?
11. 4th POI - DS, lives in No. 43. Not sure what raised LE's hinky meter on this one either. DS says he warned Sandra about "some adults." LE has searched his home and confiscated 2 of his vehicles.
12. T-shirt found in garbage at transfer station, but does not appear to be connected, although LE is testing the shirt. Do we know that the garbage the shirt was found in, came from the area of the trailer park?
13. Dad has long record and has spent time at Pelican Bay, apparently a "hard-core" prison. Dad has indicated he has taken a poly. Dad showed up on Sunday, March 29th, and then took a quick trip down to Mexico. Dad is back by Tuesday, April 2nd. Dad has voluntarily been going to the police station on a daily basis.
14. Video of Sandra to be released in the morning showing her leaving her house (hope it gives us a clue or two).
15. We can be fairly certain that Sandra did not leave the trailer park on her own - so she was either driven out or she is still there - unless, someone dumped her over the back fence (is there even a back fence?) and then went around and picked her up or climbed over the fence and took her up by the river?

Investigators towed away a blue Mitsubishi sports car and a white Isuzu sport utility vehicle on Friday, and a witness saw being taken from a mobile home in the park. In addition, a member of the FBI Evidence Response Team Unit was seen putting on a white jumpsuit.

Earlier in the day, a man was seen being led away from unit No. 43 in the park.

On Friday evening, a witness saw a man who looked like the person who was taken in for questioning returning to the park. He walked out of a car and went up to unit No. 43. Someone at the door gave him a hug and he walked inside. The man fit the description of a person wearing a plaid Pendleton shirt and scruffy hair who was being driven by police earlier in the day.

Last night after hearing nothing in the news I was finally able to go to sleep with the hope it was just a miscommunication. After speaking to my friend this morning it seems that many searchers had heard the rumor yesterday and had a very difficult night last night. Relief has flooded through the area as it seems to have just been a rumor. It sounds like the search is strong today. It looks like there was a lot of activity around the mobile home park yestareday and I pray that leads to some answers quickly.

I was thinking this morning about something in the Caylee case. After I started following the Caylee case closely I was at Winco standing in line to pay. There was the first issue of People magazine that had Caylee on the cover, near the register and my sister who knew nothing about the case said "I heard they just found her." I couldn't help it, the tears welled up and I was crying right there in the store. Caylee reminds me so much of my little girl I just felt bonded to her right away. It turned out my sister was wrong but I will never forget that helpless, lost feeling when it seemed there was no hope. I stared at Caylee's picture on that magazine and just wanted to collapse. I hope I didn't take that hope away from anyone for Sandra. I am so happy she still has a chance of being found safe. This rumor had spread through the people that were involved in the search and were very emotional about the case. I don't know what was found to cause such a big rumor but I for one am relieved it wasn't true.

Just a quick and wildly optimistic thought... if the t-shirt found really was hers and LE wanted to minimize that finding, they could've instructed those who knew about it to deny it was Sandra's. Posted here early on was something about a hair dye package found in the mobile home park. (I can search for where it was posted in the first thread.) Maybe LE is thinking she is alive and that someone changed her appearance. Following along (not totally logically), to go to the bother of changing a child's appearance seems to say that they wanted to keep that child, and not end that child's life. Just thinking of anything positive I can come up with!

In the article NurseBeeme posted above it's also IMO positive that the Coast Guard will be helping the FBI by doing thermal imaging. Not being technical, I'm assuming that would mean they are looking for a living person, who has maybe been hidden?
