or

If something is a fact, we could state that and add a link supporting it.

If we are try to be clear about what we are saying, we should avoid these kinds of issues and/or hurt feelings.:):)

Sandra's family either did, or didn't, attend Clover Road Baptist. All kinds of things.

• focusing on NO SPECIFIC person at this time.
• looking to identify killer or killers
• has heard SPECULATION about a stolen suitcase, but they have NO REPORT of stolen luggage.
• can't reveal how luggage got to the pond.
• Tracy Police have a liason with the family all day (not evening)
• No plans at this time for any Search Warrants today.
• Police are NOT done interviewing anyone
• All search warrants previously issued are sealed, any new search warrants will be sealed.

Sheneman clarified that he has used both "people" and "person" when referring to whoever did this and it does not indicate whether they think it was one or more.

Gaia- Now days churches with lots of children generally do screen their volunteers. Many of the larger churches in my area (mine included) do backrgound checks. My church requires all youth/nursery volunteers to complete a 1 day training as well as agreeing to background checks and submitting character references. And there are always 2 or more volunteers working together so an adult is never alone with a child. This likely wasn't the case if Sandra's church was Clover Road Baptist since it's so small...but screening volunteers IS the trend with larger churches now days.

49, was arrested last week for obstructing the police investigation and has been described in court records as alcoholic and abusive.

F Wholer-
60, lives in the park behind Sandra’s home and was served search warrants by police. Wohler said he kissed Sandra on the lips two years ago just to be nice, when she was only 6-years-old.

Pastor Clifford Lane Lawless-
church is only about 100 yards away from the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park.

According to Tracy Press, Lawless has been pastor of the church since 1981 and has lived in the mobile home park with his wife since the mid-1990s.

Lawless is the fourth name to have come up in the investigation regarding Sandra.

D Slayter-
A friend of Sinclair, David Slayter, 44, whose home and cars were searched, was questioned by police last week. Slayter admitted Sandra had been in his home several times.

I'm not sure who posted in thread 6 about baptistries (that's really spelled wrong, sorry) being drained after each baptism.......I'm not baptist, but pretty dang close and our baptistry is not drained after each, and to my knowledge they are clorinated......

I strongly think the blinds have something to do with photographs of child porn and they may not even be of Sandra. My guess is that of those 60, there are photos found that appear to be taken locally and they're trying to prove they were taken in someone's trailer as the blinds appear in them.

She has seen some very short clips, but nothing long enough to give a proper evaluation of his truthfulness. To anyone local: Do you know anyone who may have him on a church or family video, maybe interacting with children? Do you know anyone from a local media outlet who might have extra footage of Lawless which has not been used on air? Sometimes they have to edit for time, but even the stuff that doesn't make it to air could be useful to someone with Eyes' gift of discerning deception.

I am having a problem with the media interviews with the pastor and his wife. I my home had been searched, I had been questioned for hours, twice, if my computer and telephones had been taken by the police, I think I would be a little upset. They obviously know what led the police to them and their church. Whether a family member or something else, I just think they are a little too calm.

Hmm...I've never been to one that didn't drain it. But if you're doing weekly baptisms, then it would make sense to chlorinate and keep it full. I've only been to ones that didn't do weekly baptisms.

You know, I normally would think that the suitcase story was just wild rumors going on within the trailer park..but with that F Williams telling it to the media I think there is something to it.

I also find it odd that the grandaughter's suv is being searched..

Going back to the suitcase.... F Williams said that "she" set it outside and it had stuff in it for the rummage sale and then it was gone.. I want to know more about this rummage sale (wonder if they advertised it in the Tracy Press? ETA...I just tried to search the site but the Tracy press' new website has kinks in it). I also wonder who the "she" is?

This is just speculation but what if Sandra passes by preacherman as he is leaving the park... she gets in his car... he drives her to the church and locks her in the shed...... goes back home and nabs the suitcase while his wife is inside. Goes back to the church. Borrows his grandaughter's suv later that day or the following day to dump the suitcase because he doesn't want to use his own car.

I am taking a deep breath before I say this.... it was a name that came up that people were sleuthing. That is it... I'm not sure that this is the same P. M. that some of us were looking at yesterday. I have looked for that particular P.M. extensively and never found any indication that his complete surname would include Cantu.

I never was able to make a definative connection between the P. M . that was being sleuthed yesterday and L. Lawless.

I could go and try to find info on this PMC so that we can rule him out.

I think what SS was trying to suggest (I really can't speak for her but this is what I interpreted) that we must maintain our standard here at WS and not post full names of players that have not been named by LE or Media as a part of the investigation. I think she said she believes it is a serial killer, and then explaining how he will now lay low and then when the next opportunity presents itself and he will strike again. Until then he will go on about his regular life and just hope there is no evidence to connect him.

When she mentioned the SO's and sexual predators I think she meant this is the way they all work. And then she pointed out how this person has an intimate knowledge of the area to know about that road and even how to access it, as in the presser or it was stated by LE yesterday, you would only know about that road and the entrance to it if you lived there. Thought everyone would find it very interesting if you haven't seen it. The last part of the road that goes to the ponds you have to access by not going around a hairpin turn marked with signs but going straight (it doesn't even really look like a road that goes anywhere).. I agree that the killer knew the area.

Very interesting! I don't know who he is. There has been some speculation that possibly a grandson lived in the Lane Lawless MH. I've been trying to figure out if that could be possible or not. He has 9 grandchildren. At least 4 are girls. At least 2 grandsons...1 in the military and 1 in highschool. Another is also under 18 (not sure about the sex). That leaves 2 more.

I pretty well wrote what she said, trying to remember everything she said. I think she said she believes it is a serial killer, and then explaining how he will now lay low and then when the next opportunity presents itself and he will strike again. Until then he will go on about his regular life and just hope there is no evidence to connect him.

When she mentioned the SO's and sexual predators I think she meant this is the way they all work. And then she pointed out how this person has an intimate knowledge of the area to know about that road and even how to access it, as in the presser or it was stated by LE yesterday, you would only know about that road and the entrance to it if you lived there. Like it was native to you, if that makes more sense.

I was so stunned that I had to write this to y'all as I am just home for lunch. xoxWell...now that does make more sense.

So Pat is indicating now that he has killed once...it would not be out of the realm of possibilities he could do it again if not caught which is true. I would suspect this person to be someone who has acted out with other children along the way. LE probably has DNA from various sources by now, hopefully, and are putting a rush on it to get it into the data bases. It would be great if the person has been caught before and it comes up.

The handyman says "75%" of the homes in that park could have Sandra's fingersprints because she was all over the place in different homes (and this is coming from the maintenance guy who must see alot driving thru the park all the time)

Handyman did not find the pastor to be very friendly... says, "that's just the kind of guy he is"

When abc news asked preacherman if he had taken or killed Sandra he, while smiling said no. Sounds like, from what he said to the reporter, he was interviewed thru the night....he said something to the effect that they had just been let go from the LE office when reporters caught them driving back into the trailer park.

Why was preacherman smiling and his wife not emotional if this was a child they saw every day allegedly and they just had their items seized, and home and church cordoned off and searched??????????

O/T but it's nice to know that this family has gotten some measure of comfort from the outpouring of love and grief from Sandra's community. Big difference from taking a ball bat and crushing a cross that was left for another child ~ by her family.

i agree with you. i really like the way they are handling it and i think Sheneman is a bada$$! i, too, think it will happen sooner rather than later, but i must say that the first night when there was discussion of the church and pastor, i really thought it was going to be Tuesday. i was a little discouraged last night and had to remind myself that this isn't an episode of CSI, give them time.

I am Baptist, and the church that I grew up in, emptied theirs after each use. Which is a good thing, because one of the elders of the church...a man in his 80's, got confused one day, went through the wrong door, down the steps into the baptism pool, instead of going through the door to the sanctuary. The pool was behind the pastor, who at the time was giving his sermon...the old man couldn't find his way back out, so someone from the church had to go and get him. So, good thing it was empty.
