Boy, 10, vanishes while playing

Authorities are looking for a 10-year-old boy who disappeared from a playground at an apartment complex in west Harris County.

Investigators say Brandon Buckley went outside to play at the Copper Chase Apartments around 4pm Saturday. He went back home to use the restroom an hour later before heading back out with a soda. His mother says he never returned.
Deputies tell us the searched the apartment complex with a canine unit Saturday night but found nothing related to the missing boy.

Brandon Buckley is described as a white male, 10 years of age, light brown to blonde hair, 4'00" tall and weighing approximately 80 pounds. It is not known what clothing Brandon was wearing at the time of his disappearance.
His family only moved to the apartment complex about three months ago. Brandon's mother says her son does not have any emotional or disciplinary problems and does not have any history as a runaway.

Texas Equisearch is conducting searches for this child. I live in Katy and trying to make arrangements for childcare so I can help in the search for this little man if the public is allowed to be brought in. I have a 10 year old son and could not imagine the nightmare the parents are feeling.

PattyC...I live in Spring...please post if you hear something about TES needing volunteers to search, I'll meet you out there. I've got a 13 year old son, I know what you mean....mine is just the most coolest and loveable thing to his mommy so I can't imagine either.

Hi neighbor! I just posted an ad on kijiji Houston as well. Going to put up some flyers 2nite too. I'm waiting to hear back from TESearch to see if the public is going to be asked to help.

If anyone has any contact with the family and they want me to host an actual .com site for Brandon & update it, I'd be happy to. Anything else, let me know what I can do. Reach me here or you can email me through the kijiji site without me having to post my email. (Against TOS rules)

I just went there now. NOTHING! shame on them. I'm going to flip channels later to see if they are doing anything. Seems that everyone else is there. What can be worse than a missing child?

Is there no amber alert due to no known vehicle?

I'm not surprised channel 2 has nothing on this case they always seem to be 2 steps behind.

A 10-year-old boy who disappeared from a playground at his west Harris County apartment complex Saturday afternoon has been found safe, authorities said on Sunday.

Deputies found Brandon Buckley walking around in the 2300 block of Griffin House Lane, in a subdivision where he used to live, around 6:45 p.m.

The boy told investigators he ran away from home Saturday after receiving a punishment he didn't like and walked six miles to his old neighborhood, where he spent the night with a friend, said Harris County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Craig Clopton.
