Kathleen's brother said DP was laughing in the back ground of Kathleen's funeral.
DP hired a publist again........that guy said DP is innocent til proven guilty, but NEVER said he believed DP was innocent.

JAMES GLASGOW, WILL COUNTY, IL STATES ATTNY: The Grand Jury that was impaneled to meet on Thursdays to investigate the death of Kathleen Savio and the disappearance of Stacy Peterson returned a two- count bill of indictment today, charging two counts of first degree murder; one on the theory of intentionally killing, the second on knowingly doing an act that could cause great bodily arm.

He's had nothing to do for these 18 months but to think of snide things to say to the media...he loves the celebrity he fancies himself to be.
The last straw for me is his appearance on national television with his boys with Kathleen. Like those kids don't go thru enough and he has the audasity to allow that, or IMO, encourage that? That just sealed my opinion that he is a double murderer...no innocent person would do that to thier children. You just don't sacrafice your children to save your own sorry ass.

acandyrose.com has allot of missing and dead (1 suicide) that DP was first on the scene.

I can't watch or listen to anything right now, but it sounds like the things that he is saying show that he is even more detached from reality than he has shown us in the past. In a way that s*cks because I want him to be TOTALLY COGNIZANT of how scr*wed he really is.

He thinks that he is invincible for a reason. He is just not a sociopath who has been running and trying to elude the law, he was the law, and never dropped for one second the feeling that he is immune from being held responsible for his crimes.

While I think that much of that attitude is the result of megalomania, I think that it has been reinforced by numerous times when he has gotten away with horrible crimes. It is very possible that the continuing investigation was off the radar for many in LE there. Is it just me that suspects that DP has had someone in the department who is not "in the know" reassuring him that he is safe from prosecution? Perhaps DP's LE's source(s) are co-conspirators in on the job crimes or cops that he has intimidated/bribed?
Maybe the evidence for his arrest has come from internal investigations of LE, dirty cops are probably even more likely to flip on fellow conspirators because prison is hell for cops. A hell that DP is facing right now:dance: I wonder if any of his fellow inmates are there because DP set them up for his crimes?

The only down side I see to something like this is that way to many convicts
are going to try to appeal on the ground that they were set up by DP.

I'm so freeking happy that the dirty rat b*s*ard is finally going to have to face the music.:woohoo:

How does his mind work? Acting arrogant like he's still cool and in control. I often wish someone could get into the minds of guys like this. Drew, OJ, Allen Blackthorne even. Ann rule once said the worse thing you could do to Blackthorne was to take his golf game away. I suspect the same goes for OJ.

When all Drews rights are removed from him and he's in jail being told what to do, when to do it, how does he react? Will he be arrogant or compliant?

I think guys like this are cut from the same cloth. Our reaction is disgust when we see Drew trying to smile & be a smart butt to the media. But in his mind, does he think we'll feel sorry for him? Does he think it makes him appear innocent?

How does his mind work? Acting arrogant like he's still cool and in control. I often wish someone could get into the minds of guys like this. Drew, OJ, Allen Blackthorne even. Ann rule once said the worse thing you could do to Blackthorne was to take his golf game away. I suspect the same goes for OJ.

When all Drews rights are removed from him and he's in jail being told what to do, when to do it, how does he react? Will he be arrogant or compliant?

From what Drew has show us of his behavior, I also wonder what his real mind-set is.

My guess is that his arrogance will always be with him. He's facing real charges now, after feeling like he got away with murder. Perhaps he would have never been charged with Kathleen's death, if his 4th wife Stacey had not disappeared into thin air.

About jail life and trial...I think he'll be coached by his atty to be compliant with jail personnel and of course when he is in front of a jury. Inside himself, he will most likely be the same person we have seen in public. I don't think he'll confess or breakdown. The trial will be just another show for him. As long as he pays for his crime/crimes, I'll be happy.

Yay, perp walk, shackled in jumpsuit. Keep laughing DP. The justice system will wipe that smile from your face.

Let's see how many laughs he still has in him as he's sitting in a prison cell twenty years from now.

I expect he'll have very few.

i really think that, in his arrogant little mind, he feels like they have nothing on him. he thinks he will beat this...no big woop, just enjoy the attention while it's here. i'll be acquited in no time. i am so smart, there is no way for them to prove i murdered anyone.

i'm so glad this dirtbag was finally arrested. he is very scary. i just hope they have enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, because he needs to be put away before he kills again.

Agreed Joe.

Happened to see a news show today that showed an older interview with DP. He basically was telling the interviewer that he has a sort of gift for humor. He was trying to explain away his attitude about laughing too much.

Anywho, I don't think anyone in jail will find him funny at all!

great info. All I can say is YAHOO! After a year/half, they finally arrested this narsasist. It's all about me, me, me, my 3 squares, my spiffy outfit, my bling. Yah, one big joke Peterson. What about the kids you left at home without a mom or dad.

I hope a sane family member steps up to the plate to raise these children properly. Lord knows what happened behind those closed doors.

It's a good day!

I agree that it is a front. Training and experience as a cop means that DrewP learned to cover his feelings with some humor. He has even admitted as much on camera.

But now the controlling person is being told when to get up, when to go to bed, when and what to eat and when he can shower. And he cannot give orders, instead he must obey. He is most likely in isolation so the "jokster" no longer has an audience to play on. And he is most likely one of those people who doesn't do well alone. He can't even get on the cell phone or the internet to occupy himself or find someone to flirt with. The senior "honorable" police officer who is used to younger officers looking at him with at least some respect- and now they have a different look in their eyes. The man with the money (the money that he allegedly killed for) cannot even afford bail. And the attorney he bought didn't bother to fly back to show for his arraignment. NOT going to make him happy! It tickled me to death to hear that they delayed the arraignment, it means that he won't have any chance at a lower bail for that much longer.

My guess is that DrewP is not the happy camper like he tries to appear. And my guess would be that his attorney is getting an earful, and that later the jail guards will have problems with him. Because a controller can only cede control for so long. LOL, he will probably try to come up with some physical condition before long that might get him out.

Anyone know the significance of the red suit? Orange suit usually means general population, since his was red does that mean something different?

ITA that this guy is a sociopath and feels no remorse for his actions, but his behavior today was beyond the pale, off the chain, over the top, add your own expression here.

It's almost like he's delusional: if he acts like it's all a big joke, then maybe it will be? Does he think this is a very special episode of Punk'd? Even Snot Peterson had the decency to remain expressionless.

DrewP has been that way from day 1. Or at least right after he quit wearing his ballcap/bandanaface/leatherjacket disguise.

Usually I get bored when they start doing the review of the crime. But in this case I have really enjoyed it. I got to see the disguise photos again. I saw the picture where he looks like the opera character again. DrewP filming the photographers who were filming him. When they start running his quotes about his wives again, I should be good and riled up.

BTW if little Joey is thinking of asking for a change in venue he should think twice. Between his and DrewP's media appearances in the past as well as the present they got it into the national news. It even made IE which isn't a crime news show. LOL, but it never made it into the Cincinnati news. They didn't talk about it when Stacey went missing. They didn't talk about it when Kathleen was determined to be a homicide. But when DrewP got arrested they started talking about it too. And they don't usually cover crimes from other states unless they have a local link or it is major like the Murray building or WTC. If it made it into the Cincy news then probably everyone has heard about it.

Peterson has been jailed since May 7. His attorney Joel Brodsky is expected to ask a judge to reduce Peterson's bond, which is now $20 million.

The state attorney filed a motion to ask for a new judge, but did not immediately give specifics about why.

Brodsky told FOX News Monday morning before Peterson's court appearance they would ask for the bond to be $500,000 or less.

"Drew is simply not a flight risk," Brodsky said Monday morning on FOX and Friends, adding Peterson would never leave his kids. "He's been under investigation for the past 18 months and has been to Florida, New York, California, and he had a passport with him ... he's not going to flee."

I REALLY doubt they reduce his bond from $20million to under $500,000.

From googling the judge, I get the impression that he's a bit soft on criminals. The case below is one of them.

http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/04/naperville-arsonist-knapp.html

(snip)
A convicted Naperville arsonist who sparked nearly $1 million in damage avoided prison today after he agreed to move out of the neighborhood where he wreaked havoc during an 18-month crime spree, the Daily Herald reports (http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=288748).
An apologetic Richard J. Knapp blamed his bad behavior on his alcoholism due to stress and depression. He faced probation or three to seven years in prison.
In a ruling that angered victims, Will County Circuit Judge Richard C. Schoenstedt sentenced Knapp to 180 days in jail. He is eligible for day-to-day credit.

(snip)
Schoenstedt warned prosecutors that if they did not hand over the documents, he could dismiss the charges. Will County prosecutor John Connor refused, telling the judge he understood the consequences but saying such a move would open a "flood gate" for future cases.
"We don't want to subject every prosecutor in the country to have to turn over internal documents," he said.
Peterson and attorney Joel Brodsky said they were pleased.
"I love these guys," Peterson said, hugging his attorneys. "It's a big relief. It's a happy day."

Well other than the tit for tat in the Drew gun charge case, I'm not seeing anything overly negative about this judge. He's had a few major cases fall apart in his courtroom because of bad detective work. Maybe he's just super careful? IDK....

Well, I'm not totally up to speed on this, but it appears the DA has more going for it than a gun charge on Peterson. Maybe they'll hold back on that until or IF they can get him in prison for Kathleen's murder.:behindbar

Maybe Peterson portrayed he was happy, but I bet he wasn't. It wasn't about the gun charge. It was about the murder charge, IMO. The def wants to know EVERYTHING the DA has on DP. Those documents probably reveal a little too much of the murder investigation.

Not trying to speak for SuziQ, but the quoted story is an old one. This was to show the history prosecutors have with the judge on a previous charge (gun related) back whenever that charge was brought. This quote has nothing to do with the current charge. I know I was a bit confused, too, when I first read it.

Hi SuzieQ, So do you know if Judge S left the courtroom and another judge was called in to hold the hearing? xox

I don't know but from the way I am reading it, it looks like they first heard DrewP's plea and then the state asked for the judge to remove himself. And that stopped everything else because they didn't even hear the bond reduction motion.

Interesting about the request for the judge to remove himself. The state can request it, but the judge is not bound to grant it. IE the state could have asked, and if the judge felt he was impartial then he could have denied the motion and remained on the case. Of course the state could have then asked for an appeal, and at that time they would have had to offer proof that the judge wasn't impartial toward them.

Apparently the judge either agreed that he wasn't impartial, felt he would lose at appeal, or just didn't want to mess with the trial. I would love to know what went on behind the scenes at the previous trial.

Prosecutors to get new judge to preside over Peterson's trial

By The Associated Press | Thursday, May 21, 2009 |

JOLIET | Prosecutors in the murder case against former police officer Drew Peterson got their wish when a new judge was appointed, but Peterson's defense attorney says he'll ask that that new judge be replaced, too.

The Will County state's attorney earlier this week had asked that Will County Judge Richard Schoenstedt be removed from the case against Peterson, who's charged with killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Will County Chief Judge Gerald Kinney on Thursday agreed to remove Schoensted, but defense attorney Joel Brodsky immediately promised to file a motion asking that the new judge be removed as well.

Brodsky didn't give a reason for his request. He'd challenged the prosecution's efforts to get Schoensted taken off the case.
