I read a bit now... Apparently, if bodies were too decomposed, they decided on a "burial at sea" -as I would call it: threw them back into the water- until relatives of missing people found out and complained.
Titanic stories alway make me cry. My son was born almost on the hour (00.10am April 15) 85 years after it sank.

ETA: Thanks to Trino, I now know this little boy, UID No 4, has been identified as Sidney Leslie Goodwin. I am pleased to know he's been given a name. (I didn't know that Goodwin and "No 4" were the same child, but it turns out that's who this poor little guy was.)

Thanks for the info, Trino!

Just wonder if everyone's aware that, according to this site, PBS (2002) made a mistake in identifying Eino Viljami Panula as the unknown Titanic child who was buried in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
"On August 1, 2007 it was reported a test on the child's HVS1, a type of mitochondrial DNA molecule, did not match the Panula family. The original DNA testing was proved wrong and researchers from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario identified the boy as a 19-month-old English child, Sidney Leslie Goodwin, who was traveling on the Titanic with his family to start a new life in America."
