Detectives are asking for the public's help in finding a missing teenager.
Valentina Rodriguez, also known as "Valley," has been missing since about 6 p.m. Wednesday, when the 14-year-old ran away, threatening suicide, police said.
She is Hispanic, 5 feet 1, 110 pounds, and has dark brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt; striped, multicolored pajama pants; and gray and white Jordan ( Nike (http://www.courant.com/topic/economy-business-finance/nike-incorporated-ORCRP010856.topic)) sneakers. She may have changed into blue jeans since she ran away, police said.
She is known to frequent the Campfield Avenue/South Green and Park Street/Squire Street areas of the city.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Valentina Rodriguez is asked to contact Det. Edward Foster of the police department's Major Crimes Division at 860-757-4342, or call Hartford Crime Stoppers at 860-722-8477.
