Mary K. Johnson, 46, who lives with her mother in the 3700 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, went missing the afternoon of July 17th, according to her sister, Dorothy Johnson.
Mary Johnson, who suffers from schizophrenia, was visiting her sister at her new home in the 4300 block of West Hirsch Street when she went missing July 17, Dorothy Johnson said.
Dorothy Johnson moved into the Humboldt Park community home July 5 and was at work when Mary Johnson and her mother came to visit the home for the first time, she said. Dorothy Johnson’s son, Elliott Johnson, was home at the time.
According to Elliott Johnson, Mary Johnson went to a store down the street despite being unfamiliar with the area and never returned home.
She was last seen wearing a burgundy jacket, blue jeans, white gym shoes and a black scarf on her head, Elliott Johnson said.
Dorothy Johnson described her sister as a 5-foot-2-inch, 120-pound woman with dark complexion. She is believed to have braided hair under the scarf, family members said.
