Psychic connections?

I was wondering if there were any so-called psychics who weighed in on this case throughout the last 18 years. On the one hand I believe some people have a real gift but unfortunately I feel that many are quacks who are in it for the money and that they hurt people. I recall that Sylvia Browne told SHawn Hornbeck's parents that he was not alive... and I suppose in other cases if a psychic DOES tell a parent that the child IS alive, it would be hurtful if the child is not... some, but not all, psychics hurt the families terribly by bilking them for money.

i seem to remember some pyschic gloating that she told terry 'shell come walking back in the door some day' and acted like that was a brilliant prediction. it's like flipping a coin and coming up heads to me.
sylvia brown is a classic fraud. most of her 'preomonitsions' like that are wrong. she predicted on the 12/28/98 episode of montel wiliams that pope john paul the second wouldnt survive 1999 and that the next pope would be black. the pope died 4/2/05 (real close huh?) and the next pope was white. she also predicts alot of 'tornadoes' and 'hurricanes' every year. you dont need to be a psychic to see those coming. and her favorite is connecting with the "dead" aroung people, which of course, no one will ever be able to confirm is bgus or not

I have a copy of a book published as part of the People's Almanac series in 1980, called The Book of Predictions. Half the book is dedicated to experts in the field, who predict some of the things that might arise in the future in various fields - science, technology, economics, politics, etc. The second half looks at psychics and other non-rational predictive 'sciences'.

A bunch of psychics were invited to make a lot of predictions of the next several years, and it is quite funny to read what some people predicted. The People's Almanac itself had a section of psychic predictions going back to 1973. Copies are usually still available in used book stores.

I'm curious if any formal study has been done on the 'accuracy' of these predictions.
