BAYTOWN, Texas - The Baytown Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for a 14-year-old boy they say was taken by his father from his grandmother's house in League City.

Neal Haynes Roberts, 49, took Samuel Blake Kirtley on Sunday after 6 p.m. from the house at the 5900 block of Wildfire Street in League City, according to police.

Samuel has a physical abuse case against Neal in the Child Protective Services system. Investigators say Neal has a history of family violence and aggravated kidnapping.

Officers from League City also said that Kirtley acted as if he wanted to stay with his grandmother. Police brought the boy from his grandmother's house to League City officers who took him to Roberts' home.

Roberts and Kirtley are believed to be in a dark blue Kia 4-door vehicle with Texas license plate number 178 HWV.

Kirtley is described as a Caucasian boy with brown hair, brown eyes, standing at a height of 4-8, weighing approximately 110 pounds with acne on his face.

Samuel is 15. Pics of he and his dad.
CPS gave permission for his dad to take him from his grandmother's house.
But, now CPS will take custody when he is found.

Wait so...CPS gave permission for his dad to take him? Was this permission granted mistakenly? With an open abuse case you wouldn't think they would allow that. Of course, stranger things have happened.

Praying that Samuel is found safe and unharmed.
