The family of a missing hunter isn't giving up their search, even though authorities called off their crews over the weekend.
Mel Nadel, 61, has been missing for a week after getting separated from a hunting group outside Pecos.
Nadel's family is following the Pecos River south near Val Kilmer's property hoping to find some sign of Nadel.
State police called off their search on Saturday after dozens of rescuers didn't find any clues.

Read the website:
I emailed the NM governor. Asking for the family's request for a heat seeking helicopeter.
Search dogs have picked up a strong scent. Family and a psychic feels he is lying injured, needs help.
Gave site TES info.

Mel is still missing. This is an interesting story about keeping on with life when a loved one goes missing. It features Mel's family and has some more background about both Mel and the circumstances under which he went missing.

Missing hunter: Family picking up the pieces

. . .
"It is starting to sink in," said Edna Nadel. Nearly three weeks ago, her husband, Melvin Nadel, 61, disappeared while on a hunting trip in the Pecos Wilderness near Elk Mountain.
She is starting to understand he might never be found, and never come home.
. . .
With no evidence of foul play and no sign of him in the wilderness, people speculate.
"The police kind of hinted maybe he ran off with another woman," Edna said of her husband of 19 years.
Investigators found a new pair of women's pants in his Jeep at the hunting camp, which was locked and had all his gear inside, including his cell phone and GPS. The only things missing were his bow and pistol.
Edna wasn't surprised by the pants. "My husband is a little guy. He's from the rock 'n roll era and he liked his pants to fit tight. It didn't matter to him if they were women's jeans, if they fit."
. . .
Police also found a large man's jacket in Mel's Jeep and are trying to find out who it belongs to. But hunting partner Joe Muņiz said the coat wasn't in the Jeep when they originally looked inside. He thinks it belongs to one of the searchers.
. . .
Mel never hunted far from camp. He told his partners he was going to walk down a trail a few yards, then go back to camp at dusk to wait for them. When they showed up he wasn't there, just his Jeep.
Scent dogs later trailed Mel down the exact trail he said he would use. They lost his scent about 150 yards from camp at a place where he had stopped, according to coordinates in his GPS unit. His hunting partners think that means he turned around and went back to camp, like he said he would.
