That's how much Michael Jackson's mom and his kids get.
While at least one of the expenses I can understand -- $4000+ a month for a home healthcare aid for Mrs. Jackson, the others:
-- $3500 a month clothing allowance (for a 79 year old grandma)
-- $1500 entertainment expense (for a 79 year old grandma)
-- $13,260 for the children for entertainment and related expenses (Glad my kids can't read yet, I might have to start giving them an allowance!)
are a little harder to swallow.

It's not up to us to judge that. MJ had lots of money, his children should have whatever MJ decided. And after all, he's not here to spend any of that money, so it's going to pile up.
His mother surely loved him, and he loved her. Why shouldn't those he loved benefit from his talent? I don't get why that's an issue.

Michael loved his mother dearly, as well as his kids.
What isn't said here is that what is bequeathed per month is a little more than what he was giving her each month while he was alive. Same for his kids.
It may be hard to swallow for some, but consider who these people are and the fact that Michael planned for them to want for nothing when he died and that their lives would be thrown completely into the spotlight after his death. If Katherine appeared as anything less as a superstars mother dressed to the 9's after his death, there would be such a public outcry we would hear about it for years! The fact that he made his will with his mother included as beneficiary tells me that he knew he would not outlive her. It also tells me that he knew that he would die before his children reached the age where they could take responsibility for themselves without a guardian. His 'paranoia' of dying was real. He knew he would die and he knew it wasn't going to be of old age. That is very sad indeed.
Just because that is what is allocated doesn't mean that that is what they will spend each month.
Really, it's no different to what other celebrities spend on their children. They have the money, their kids benefit from it.
A lot of celebrities worked hard for what they have after coming from backgrounds where they know what it's like to go without. You can't blame them for wanting to make sure their kids don't go through the same thing.
As for Katherine Jackson, she supported her kids financially when they were the Jackson 5 and she wasn't a rich woman...thanks to her, they enjoyed untold success, which led to the world making Michael what he is today. She supported him through the allegations and court appearances in regard to the child molestation charges.
There is nothing wrong with a son wanting to give back what he received and making sure that his supportive mom will not want for anything.

I saw somewhere this weekend that Joe is asking for an allowance. The nerve!
