Aunt Carey said she hadn't spoken to her since the four weeks before when she dropped her off for a two day visit,that would have been on a Sunday,from what she said.
Actually she said packed enough clothes for two days,she didn't say two day visit.I just assume she thought it would be for two days.But,if it was on a Sunday,she had school the next day and I thought she had weekend visits sometimes.Why not be dropping her off on a Friday night for a two day visit?
She said it was "four weeks ago on a Friday." :)

I never knew anything til I started researching this.
I knew. I just hadn't considered it in Shaniya's case. Normally, on the rare occasion on is made, they use adults...they fight more and make it more exciting. (Typing that sentence made me feel dirty.)
I know that they are rare, very rare. It is hard to find a market, and very hard to find one that can be trusted. I don't think that McNeil would be able to find a buyer, but I'm not sure. I think McNeil may be a little further up the criminal food chain than most are assuming.

A few days after Shaniya was taken, didn't someone come in here and on IS and post pictures that had "property of MAM" on them.
They caused quite a stir. I did not see them and was thankful.
But, was that picture something that would have been on a snuff film?

and I sure have never said that....
I also don't find his past wife/s/kid/s etc to be of any real bearing here
however...I am still wondering how a little princess goes from fairy outfits and riding her scooter into a BMW to living in a singlewide trailer with felons, backed up sewage, no school, and being sold to subsidize her mother's crack habit

I think the difference is that he knew AD, or thought he did. We can become lulled into a sense of security when we actually know people who may pose a risk. I have said this before, and I will repeat it. How many times have we heard neighbors or others say, for example: "Oh, but he was such a nice man! So kind to animals and children. I never would have guessed he could do something like this."?
How many cases have we heard of where the initial reaction from people who knew the perp is that he or she just must be innocent because they are not capable of such acts? I think of Jesse Grund and casey anthony. He thought she was a wonderful, loving mother incapable of harming her child. he knew casey well. He slept with her, lived with her and was engaged. But, he could not see the evil that is now so apparent to us.
I think it is psychological to be more trusting of people we actually know.
The other issues is that, again, some people are not that smart. Some people don't have good hinky meters. Some people are naive, trusting. Some people hold the ideal of motherhood to such a high standard they could not imagine a m other harming a child - even though we hear of such cases in the news. Another example from the casey case - there were LEGIONS of people from websleuths supporting her and/or insisting that she either had nothing to do with it and was innocent, except possibly for negligence, that her child was forcibly kidnapped, that casey sold her child instead of murdering her, or that if the child was dead, it was an accident. And these are people who know full well about crime and stats and mothers who kill yet did not actually know casey. But, they could not wrap their mind around the possibility that a pretty young woman with tons of smiling pictures of her and the child, could have murdered her own baby. It's the motherhood ideal working.
Finally, how many of you could possibly predict such an outcome? My gosh, it is so horrible to comprehend - a mother actually harming her child in such a premeditated, methodical manner, and for what, why? How the heck could this average, uneducated, working class father possibly predict such a thing?
We on these boards know full well the risks to kids from drug use, new boyfriends, dysfunction, etc. But many, many people out there do not. Nor do they know what they can do about it even if they have an inkling as to the risks. This father should have done many things. He didn't. But he is not a bad man. He's a single dad trying his best to work and provide for his child and provide for her care and give her access to her bio-mom, etc.he obviously took great care of Shaniya, who looked happy, clean and well adjusted, when in his care. He made a huge error in giving AD a chance to see her child.
Finally, sadly, I come across cases in my practice, every single week, of parents who absolutely have no understanding of their rights. Especially dads. I don't think Brad knew of the risks, knew what he could do to obtain custody via the courts or knew that it is not always wise to give someone a "second chance." I pity the man.

Wow ..........im like pages behind........this reminds of TS in Woodstock, Ontario.....Canada...........wow..............seem s like their are so many lies..........started out too..........everyone thinking was custody issue.........then thought mom sold for drugs.........or to make some easy fast money from porn........the lists goes.......on and on.......where will it end........maybe when ppl start to tell the truth........how can we teach our children..........if we cant tell the truth or know right from Wrong!!..........Sorry

According to court records, Lockhart has five other children with three women. He has had custody and child support disputes involving several of the children, but there was no record of any disputes involving Shaniya or Antoinette Davis.

Im just wondering if he didnt go for custody of SD because of the other custody and support disputes that went on with his other children and he seen first hand what it does to the children involved........example........sometimes children feel they have to choose between parents, granparents.......family........didnt not want to put SD thru that...........and knew where AD came from.......(family, friends....etc.).....sorta not wanting to rock the boat....if you will...and of course how his other children did not have their mom.........he felt he was doing the right thing.....does that make sense.........not now it doesnt as the beautiful little girl is now gone...............and im very sure this is pure HELL........for him!!! NOW!!..........back to the " IF I ONLY"

I doubt it...the person also said that was what they looked like after a run in with the WS owner...I don't put much stock in that person or their pictures.
ETA: On the rare occasion a snuff is made anymore, the mutilation to the victim is extensive, to prove that it is real as it is happening. So the type of picture, yes. The particular picture, no, I don't believe it was of Shaniya.

I read somewhere or from someone that a report was made that the momster had nothing to do with this and that MAM took her and that's why she was reported missing. When MAM turned himself in he told police that the mother sold her to him to pay off some type of drug debt. Allegedly the reason they have not been charged with rape and child molestation was because there is no proof this occured. The only thing they no for certain is that MAM had her and that she was murdered. The prostitution charges stem from his accusation that momster "sold" her to him. As far fetched as this sounds, a part of me still holds on to a little hope that this is true and that she wasn't violated in that way.
is NG going to cover tonight? If so I'll watch, otherwise she tweeks me a bit.

Which leads me to question, who raised her the first "couple" of years? Anyone know?
If he has raised her the entire 5 years, why state "several"?
Also, wondering why she had "Davis" as a last name since BL was supposedly raising her.
Since she had AD last name, this would mean she would have rights to child support.

I had thought the same thing, but was afraid to post.
I think child porn pics, video, even snuff film, could help explain the need of a hotel room.
Most cell phones nowadays come with a digital camera on them, and many, like mine, also have a built in video recorder. He could have been carrying one in his pocket as he carried her into the hotel.
Someone else could have already been waiting for them in the hotel room, or he could have done this alone. Either way, it explains the use of the hotel room, to me.

Shaniya's sister even said that she couldn't believe it. That Momster seemed like a nice and caring lady.
I've heard reports that Shaniya was the result of a one night stand. I don't think the Dad knew the momster at all and probably didn't want too much to do with her. I'm not making excuses for him, just pointing out some observations.

I'm so attached to this case that I posted erroneously! :doh: Sorry guys...I shoulda looked up the model # - I automatically assumed it was like my neighbors. I'm just really sad for Shaniya and I'm trying to go too fast in finding answers. Have to pick my boys up from wrestling practice. Be back in a bit.

Dad is not on Shaniya's Birth certificate only Mom is on her BC.
they did share custody in an informal way. Nothing court ordered.He said her mom got Shaniya occasionally not very often. His own daughter says that dads girl friend and sister have raised her mostly.

There have been serial killers who taped their torture and murder of people ,but a snuff film is made specifically for the purpose of killing and then selling the film.
I know there was a pretty famous case where Charlie Sheen saw what he thought was a snuff film. He reported it and it turned out to be just a movie.

but....to take a little princess over to the worst (stated by locals) area of town...to a woman he supposedly barely knew...a "one night stand"..(and yeah, let's think how they might have met?)....
to take her word she had a job and a place to live??
I would not for a minute really even think a mother would do this...but....a kid in a trailer with 2 felons and 2 women, 2 other kids...worst part of town...cars coming and going
I would think that she could injest beer or booze or eat a crack rock...I would be afraid she would see adults fighting, smoking drugs, getting drunk, having sex...I would be afraid that she would not eat right...be allowed to wander outside...maybe get hit by a car (some other drunk or junkie speeding down the road)...so many possibilities
again....the "defenders" of the dad who seem to think this was just a heartfelt desire to give AD some "momma time" never address the fact that MOST sane and sensible people put a LOT more thought into boarding a pet
when we went on a cruise I checked out kennels....called them...asked for responses...boarded the dogs in one for a night ....visited others...
years ago I found a "cat hotel" for my (late) cat that had individual cat trees
and yes, when I was on vacation I did call to "talk" to them
(heard their tails wagged LOL)
Too bad similar efforts were not taken here

I knew. I just hadn't considered it in Shaniya's case. Normally, on the rare occasion on is made, they use adults...they fight more and make it more exciting. (Typing that sentence made me feel dirty.)
I know that they are rare, very rare. It is hard to find a market, and very hard to find one that can be trusted. I don't think that McNeil would be able to find a buyer, but I'm not sure. I think McNeil may be a little further up the criminal food chain than most are assuming.

I think the difference is that he knew AD, or thought he did. We can become lulled into a sense of security when we actually know people who may pose a risk. I have said this before, and I will repeat it. How many times have we heard neighbors or others say, for example: "Oh, but he was such a nice man! So kind to animals and children. I never would have guessed he could do something like this."?
How many cases have we heard of where the initial reaction from people who knew the perp is that he or she just must be innocent because they are not capable of such acts? I think of Jesse Grund and casey anthony. He thought she was a wonderful, loving mother incapable of harming her child. he knew casey well. He slept with her, lived with her and was engaged. But, he could not see the evil that is now so apparent to us.
I think it is psychological to be more trusting of people we actually know.
The other issues is that, again, some people are not that smart. Some people don't have good hinky meters. Some people are naive, trusting. Some people hold the ideal of motherhood to such a high standard they could not imagine a m other harming a child - even though we hear of such cases in the news. Another example from the casey case - there were LEGIONS of people from websleuths supporting her and/or insisting that she either had nothing to do with it and was innocent, except possibly for negligence, that her child was forcibly kidnapped, that casey sold her child instead of murdering her, or that if the child was dead, it was an accident. And these are people who know full well about crime and stats and mothers who kill yet did not actually know casey. But, they could not wrap their mind around the possibility that a pretty young woman with tons of smiling pictures of her and the child, could have murdered her own baby. It's the motherhood ideal working.
Finally, how many of you could possibly predict such an outcome? My gosh, it is so horrible to comprehend - a mother actually harming her child in such a premeditated, methodical manner, and for what, why? How the heck could this average, uneducated, working class father possibly predict such a thing?
We on these boards know full well the risks to kids from drug use, new boyfriends, dysfunction, etc. But many, many people out there do not. Nor do they know what they can do about it even if they have an inkling as to the risks. This father should have done many things. He didn't. But he is not a bad man. He's a single dad trying his best to work and provide for his child and provide for her care and give her access to her bio-mom, etc.he obviously took great care of Shaniya, who looked happy, clean and well adjusted, when in his care. He made a huge error in giving AD a chance to see her child.

This is kind of off topic but not really. All of the above with the exlusion of M. Huckaby have been either charged or convicted of murdering their own children. M. Huckaby is the one that sexually assaulted Sandra Cantu and then murdered her. Even though I am having such a difficult time with Shaniya's death...this happens every single day in the world and it sux to be a kid sometimes. It really does.

Dad is not on Shaniya's Birth certificate only Mom is on her BC.
they did share custody in an informal way. Nothing court ordered.He said her mom got Shaniya occasionally not very often. His own daughter says that dads girl friend and sister have raised her mostly.
How do you know that Brad is not on the BC? Have you seen the BC or link please?

You are welcome to cut him all the slack you like, I for one don't like the guy and didn't from the start you can see from my earlier post I smacked my fingers and didn't type a bad thing about him till this came out and some how, just by his actions I knew more was coming and I still think more will come.
You also have to ask why is father-in-law is mad at him, why is daughter mad at him? Maybe because they had to fight for support money, maybe because he wasn't being the father he was supposed to be. It doesn't matter how they feel about him I don't think they would come out and bash him if it weren't true and what does the father have to say.....OOO that was speculations!!!! Yeah right, why because you were not around to look at the burns. This man is acting like he raised this girl from birth he wasn't even around her except here and there, it was his sister that raised her. His own words were telling enough, I wanted AD to have a chance to be a mother. I mean what did he say to Shaniya, honey you have been born into a wonderful world, nice home, clean clothes, lots of toy, a loving aunt. Now I want to give the woman that gave birth to you a chance to be your mother, go live in the sewer, see what you have been missing all your life. I want to know if he asked what Shanyia wanted, I want to know if he even talked to her ONCE while she was at AD's house I don't think so. How many parents would go without checking or calling..........OOO man I could go on all night. I would have much more respect and pity for this man if he would fess up to his own actions and quit trying to act like he was father of the year. Ok I am going to try eatting more comfort food....my rant is over.

but....to take a little princess over to the worst (stated by locals) area of town...to a woman he supposedly barely knew...a "one night stand"..(and yeah, let's think how they might have met?)....
to take her word she had a job and a place to live??
I would not for a minute really even think a mother would do this...but....a kid in a trailer with 2 felons and 2 women, 2 other kids...worst part of town...cars coming and going
I would think that she could injest beer or booze or eat a crack rock...I would be afraid she would see adults fighting, smoking drugs, getting drunk, having sex...I would be afraid that she would not eat right...be allowed to wander outside...maybe get hit by a car (some other drunk or junkie speeding down the road)...so many possibilities
again....the "defenders" of the dad who seem to think this was just a heartfelt desire to give AD some "momma time" never address the fact that MOST sane and sensible people put a LOT more thought into boarding a pet
when we went on a cruise I checked out kennels....called them...asked for responses...boarded the dogs in one for a night ....visited others...
years ago I found a "cat hotel" for my (late) cat that had individual cat trees
and yes, when I was on vacation I did call to "talk" to them
(heard their tails wagged LOL)
Too bad similar efforts were not taken here

I thought the snuff film too, when she was brought to a hotel and soon after was found dead. Joseph Duncan III did that (basically) to poor Dylan. Filmed him sexually torturing him and hanging him until he was nearly dead, and when he realized Dylan was fatally injured he shot him- claiming later the gun "accidentally" went off.
I pray there is nothing like that. At Duncan's trial the tape was shown in court and Dylan's poor father saw. It was absolutely heartbreaking.

Aw I know I think she really got the short end of the stick with her brother. Did you notice on the interview where she said I didn't like AD, I felt she neglected her children (something like that) right after BL was saying he wanted to give the mother a chance. I have a feeling there is some tension in that house and Carey is holding her tongue, I feel bad for her. I don't think she had any idea Shaniya wasn't coming home when she dropped her off.

When I first heard they narrowed down a search area I figured they were doing it by cell phone pings. Now that I read they found a GPS device in MAM's car I am sure that is what they used to pinpoint the body.

This is something that I have been trying to verify - is BL engaged - does he have a fiance or is this just rumour?
I literally cannot find anything in print/news which validates that he is engaged.
Sadly, there are so many rumors flying right now.
IMO unless it is an official document at this point, it is a rumor.
So many people out there commenting on thing and we have no idea if they are true or just a way of getting back at somebody for something we know nothing about.
For instance: if something is seen on a blog, then posted here...before too long, it's being talked about as a fact.
We need to realize that not everyone who is interviewed is telling the truth.
Who is to say who is telling the truth and who isn't.
At this point, we just don't know.

I surely hope this so called mom did not ask to be a momma to her child already knowing she was gonna give her to these sick perverted men. Like they knew she had a daughter and made the deal before hand. Make me sick. So many kids being abused and killed these days - what is this world coming to. We have 4 grand kids between us and I just cannot imagine anyone doing something like this to any one of them

My question would be, did she show fear towards men, or did she gravitate towards women more? She may have been looking for the mother figure she didn't have.

Nancy playing the 911 call again, snippets of interviews with family members, etc. Shaniya's father says he never saw cigarette burns on Shaniya's arms even though somebody else said so. He partly blames himself for her death. Reporter saying AD & McNeill had been hanging out together and she may have owed him money for drugs. Marlena Schiavo on. Nancy asking her about drugs. Marlena talking about the drug raid this summer where instruments to manufacture were found. Supposition is AD owed him money. Talking now about McNeill's prior criminal history.

In an affidavit for a warrant to search McNeill's 1997 Mitsubishi Galant, investigators said McNeill told them he picked Shaniya up in front of her home and drove her to the hotel. Investigators also said they found feces smeared on the outside door handle of the front door to the home and on the handrail of the steps to the front porch.
Police recovered 11 pieces of trace evidence, such as hair and fibers, from the car, as well as clothes, a belt, a straw, a cell phone and a portable GPS system, according to the search warrant.

Gloria Allred, Rene Rockwell, Alan Ripka on NG's panel. GA wants to know why CPS didn't notify dad AD was being investigated. NG is saying CPS dropped the ball. RR saying CPS was investigating problems with the 7 y/o son; didn't even know Shaniya was living there. RR agrees though they dropped the ball. AR saying if dad thought AD was on drugs he wouldn't have let Shaniya go there. Says AD doesn't sound like she was on drugs when called 911. NG saying of course not, it was a planned phone call.

Aw I know I think she really got the short end of the stick with her brother. Did you notice on the interview where she said I didn't like AD, I felt she neglected her children (something like that) right after BL was saying he wanted to give the mother a chance. I have a feeling there is some tension in that house and Carey is holding her tongue, I feel bad for her. I don't think she had any idea Shaniya wasn't coming home when she dropped her off.

OMG! This reminds me a lot of a situation one of my best friends is going through. She was going through a divorce and met a man. He told her a very, sad story of how his wife and 3-year-old daughter had died in a car accident. I mean, I was very upset and cried, because my daughter was about the same age. Several, several months later, he admitted that his ex-wife and daughter were alive. He even had a woman call her and say that the wife was dead. So, she forgave him, against the advice of her friends. Well, then he had his daughter come and live with my friend. He travels all of the time for work. WTF? Just this week they broke up, and now this poor little girl will be in limbo again. My friend is very attached to her, and so are her 2 kids. So sad. Brad even looks like my friend's ex.

That is a red flag too that should have made her father look into it even more.

Well,if social services had been contacted,they would have talked to the father if they knew he was handing her over to AD.He knew she had drug problems and went to jail before,so I don't know.Maybe he didn't want to talk to them,because he had dealt with them on the custody of the other kids he lost.It would be the same office,right?So,I guess they knew all the families and probably didn't know AD had Shaniya.She only had her four weeks and noone told them.

Earlier today there was a police report posted and I believe it was you who posted (sorry if it wasn't :) ) saying the victim was his sister (I don't want to put her name out here)??? I think that is actually his mom, and SM that was arrested may just be his father. Or actually either could be his father I guess??? The incident report may be from his parents home, where I believe he may be/have been living.

I thought the snuff film too, when she was brought to a hotel and soon after was found dead. Joseph Duncan III did that (basically) to poor Dylan. Filmed him sexually torturing him and hanging him until he was nearly dead, and when he realized Dylan was fatally injured he shot him- claiming later the gun "accidentally" went off.
I pray there is nothing like that. At Duncan's trial the tape was shown in court and Dylan's poor father saw. It was absolutely heartbreaking.

3 people said they saw ciggy burns: the father-in-law (father of the murdered wife), the very good friend of Brad's who is now taking care of Cheyenne and Cheyenne herself. No way he didn't see them. Well, maybe, because he is always out of town and has other people raise his kids. IMO!

Another caller asking about Shaniya not being in school and wants to know if anyone from dad's family called AD while Shaniya was there. Reporter talking about burns on Shaniya's arms while she was with AD. Dad says Shaniya suffered from eczema and didn't notice any burns.

They're talking now about murder charges. LE needs to determine where the murder took place; differing counties. Rene Rockwell talking about the bond amount and somebody could come up with the money and these two will be out of jail. AR saying AD can't be charged with murder; no evidence she knew anyone was going to be murdered. NG arguing with him about felony murder ~ death occuring while in the commission of a felony.

If DSS was investigating other son and BL was not on the birth certificate, then they wouldn't know who the father was anyway. I bet the only way they found Carey through the school (to contact her when Shaniya was reported missing) was to search Cumberland County Public Schools database and see if she was enrolled.

Nancy talking about the custody arrangements. Both Marlena S. and another reporter say there was not formal agreement. Another caller asking about Shaniya not being in school and wants to know if anyone from dad's family called AD while Shaniya was there. Reporter talking about burns on Shaniya's arms while she was with AD. Dad says Shaniya suffered from eczema and didn't notice any burns.
It seems that would be an easy thing to substantiate if there was any kind of physician's report or medication prescribed. I think if this were true the aunt would have see the burns while caring for Shaniya and would been all over that..she seems to be the only one I trust right now.

This thing just goes to prove what we have all seen time and time again, pretty pictures don't tell us a thing.
We all started with Daddy's little princess based on those photos and his tears, and she was another neglected and bounced around child that lots of onlookers knew was in trouble.
It is always the same story.
He didn't see the burns because he wasn't looking.
An involved parent doesn't need CPS to tell them their child isn't enrolled in school.
An involved parent, in state or out of state for work, knows what is going on with their kid. It takes a village to raise one, and a village to stand by and watch them be neglected, tortured, and destroyed.
So infuriating.

Would that make him a bad father? Or a father that works to better his child's life???
Working doesn't make him a bad parent, having no F'ing clue what is happening to his child does, making no effort to find out what is happening makes him a bad parent. Under the same roof, or in another state, his actions are are what make him a bad father.

He is not a husband and he did not work to better his childs life. He let her go down to the bottom in a crappy trailer under no court order or anything. That is not working for a better life for your child.

TOTALLY all just my opinion on who the woman is that created that incident report. The poster stated it was his sister's home...which is also possible, but she's 49 nd he's 29....it *could* also be his mother.

Where are the facts to back up he didn't make and effort?
Just because something is in a media report does not make it true. When someone is interviewed, how do you know they are speaking the truth.
I guess what I'm trying to say is...where are the official documnets backing up all this stuff these people are saying.
Until I see it, I will not judge this man.
At this point, everything is speculation as to his neglect or lack of parenting.

If you look at the bottom of that report you will see it says unfounded.

Not what we're saying at all. This man has 5 kids with 3 different women. There are parents-in-law, a sister, friends of the dad, and a girlfriend (and who knows how long he knew her) raising them imo. They ALL offered to take Shaniya, so she wouldn't go to the momster's. He didn't take any offer. :( I belive the 17-year-old sister, and I think the whole interaction with the brother on Nancy Grace was very odd.

You're right, Kimberly, point taken. It sort of reminds me of the guys from "Deadliest Catch". They're gone for weeks & months at a time. In this situation, though, it's way too coincidental that he has 5 kids and they're all being raised by other people. I feel bad for him but am very angry, as well as skeptical, as to his reasoning for "giving Antoinette a chance to be a mother". Shaniya was an innocent little girl. She deserved to be protected to the best of everyone's ability...most importantly her father's ability...and he failed to check out the mother even though he heard opposing opinions from several members of his extended family and friends.

I respect that your opinion differs.
There are no documents because no one ever bothered to go to court for.
Lack of documents don't prove he is a good father to me, it furthers the arguement that he never even bothered to get custody so he had legal standing to protect her. I will happily eat my words if the time comes, but I doubt it will be necessary. She was horribly abused by a couple, and neglected by many.

I missed the NG tapes. Seems to me the son is pretty tight with his dad. (But at some point the dad should of let go of the boy he was a bit hanging on to him)....but they are all shocked, they did not see it coming....

Done repeatedly in the same area, it can lead to the need for skin grafts. Hold them there long enough they can mark the bone. They can damage cartilage.

I saw the pictures of his home and I saw the pictures of the trailer he sent her too. He was under no obligation to send her there. You do not send your loved ones to live in a low life place like that. To me that is major neglect.

The name on that report is not MAM's sister .. MAM's sister's name is Tijauna age 31 .... she did an interview .... I am losing links like crazy here .... simply cannot keep up with it.

The kids being rasied by other people is a fact.
The grandparents taking custody (unlike BL ever did for S) via court order is a fact. The grandparent has spoken publically. Two of the three kids have.

The fact is that this beautiful little girl is dead
that is the fact...she was not snatched by a stranger...she had her bags packed and was delivered to a h//llhole where she spent the last few weeks of her short life in horrible conditions, pain and degradation

What did Shaynia want?? did anyone speak to her on the phone?? Apparently the breeder told the aunt that she "would not see her again" after the 2 nights were up....and almost a month went by...
Sorry I would have been out there with cops, social workers, a private detective or whatever it took
This dear little girl lost her life...and endured such horrors...it is just disgusting
and...it did NOT have to happen
right now...she should be safe and sound getting ready for Thanksgiving

Yeah, but I personally thought it was his mother...not sister. I was wrong about the computer. ElizaAvalon let me know about the model # that I failed to look up. I feel so stupid for not checking on that. Sorry for the confusion again. I'm just so tied up in this that I'm not even thinking straight, literally, it's affected me at home...cried for 3 days now. Hearsay? I have seen the videos of the father-in-law, the daughter and the friend talking about this. I also saw the very sad video of the aunt, who played a huge role in Shaniya's life, speak. She did not want Shaniya to go to the momster's. I believe all of them. I was very sympathetic for the dad at the beginning, but I just think there are too many people close to him talking about him basically passing off the responsibilty of all of his children.

idk - he's got bright lights in his face, he's on tv for (probably) the first time in his life, he's being interviewed by a 'famous' person, his sister was just murdered, he doesn't expect his dad coming up behind him ... he just seems awkward, (& understandibly so) to me
I'm not getting any feeling of animosity between them
o/t but some families don't hug/show physical affection normally & when a death or something extreme kinda makes them feel obligated to hug etc, they do it awkwardly - it's not that they don't want to, it's just that they don't know how
anyway, I do understand why ppl. are feeling weird about BL - he's an odd duck but I also think we are too quick to criticize his every facial tic

Seems to me in a lot of these horrible cases, that when the poor child (ultimate victim) reaches an age where they're old enough to communicate well (and therefore share what's going on with them or the adults in their lives), the child is "eliminated." Seems they are tolerable as long as they're young enough to be used and victimized without fear of their predators being revealed. So darn sad.

Looks pretty much the same to me. Im wondering if he really thought the cigg burns really was a skin condition, hard to tell in the video but her arms and legs looked ok, not inflamed with the exzema

Even taking the hearsay away. I have a hard time with the man because his daughter had a loving stable home, friends, school, with his sister and he up and gives her to a woman that is living in a sewer because after 5 years SHE WANTS to be a mother, he didn't check her out, he didn't give his daughter a say in this because I am sure she would not want to go live there and he just takes her from the sister that has been loving her. Who was he thinking about here? Not his daughter!!

He sent her from his 150k home with his BMW to a filthy trailer and under no court order to do so. Why isnt that neglect?
Actually, they said his house was $240K house in an upscale neighborhood & the trailer on Sleepy Hollow Drive was degraded and in a crime & drug ridden neighborhood.

Ok, so the # of kids he has may be a fact.
What about the rest. Do we KNOW this to be true, or are we assuming it's true because somebody said it?

here it is...look at the pictures of his house, his "bmw"...the pictures of Shaynia in his home
then look at Sleepy Hollow....
would you take your kids over there?? would you let them stay overnight with a new friend...don't even check out the family etc??
how about the felons staying there...how do 4 adults and 3 kids sleep in a 12 x 40 2 bedroom trailer?? Not to mention the druggies running in and out...many cars back and forth

3 people said they saw ciggy burns: the father-in-law (father of the murdered wife), the very good friend of Brad's who is now taking care of Cheyenne and Cheyenne herself. No way he didn't see them. Well, maybe, because he is always out of town and has other people raise his kids. IMO!
he said that she had exema and thats what the spots were...not cig burns
i dont know much about exema...but i know its all red and blotchy right?

Here I will interject my opinion: Good parenting has absolutely nothing to do with the value of one's home or the location/condition of one's home.

TOTALLY all just my opinion on who the woman is that created that incident report. The poster stated it was his sister's home...which is also possible, but she's 49 nd he's 29....it *could* also be his mother.
Or honestly for all I know for sure, it could just be a coincidence with the same last name? Sorry I'm not much help!
Are you talking about me stating it was his sister's home? I don't think it was his sister's home, I personally think it's his mother's...always have since I looked up his name on USA People Search and saw her connected to him...The age gap would suggest mother.

Yeah, but I personally thought it was his mother...not sister. I was wrong about the computer. ElizaAvalon let me know about the model # that I failed to look up. I feel so stupid for not checking on that. Sorry for the confusion again. I'm just so tied up in this that I'm not even thinking straight, literally, it's affected me at home...cried for 3 days now. Again, sorry for the confusion everyone.
Trying to send you a hug and can't find the hug smiley and if I look too long I will be three pages behind. Please stop beating yourself up - all of this is moving extremely fast and emotions are running very high. Hugs -still can't find the huggy smiley - this situation is emotionally draining.

I think the Father was blind to what was going on, who knows, He never in his life I imagine, would have thought his baby girl would die at the hands of her own mother, but then again look at The Anthonys, they lost Caylee, at the hands of her own mother, they ignored the warning signs also

Just because something is in a media report does not make it true. When someone is interviewed, how do you know they are speaking the truth.
I guess what I'm trying to say is...where are the official documnets backing up all this stuff these people are saying.
Until I see it, I will not judge this man.
At this point, everything is speculation as to his neglect or lack of parenting.
His own admitted actions and words and presentation convince me, Kimberly. :o Many of us have cited them for days, even before all these later reports from his friends and family came out.
The latest reports only reinforce our conviction that he put other things ahead of the safety of his child. It all fits.
And his friends and family telling us what they knew and that they warned him isn't hearsay, but evidence. What Shaniya told them is hearsay, but as I said earlier today, even without the cigarette burns, it was wrong to send her there, because it was an unacceptable risk.
Parents should never get the message from anyone who advocates for children that behavior that puts them at such blatant risk is excusable, imo. It puts other children at risk.
Failure to identify and point out that that situation was a clear "don't go there" sort of place is like failing to tell a child that snakes shouldn't be played with.
