Tuba,
The water/sink stagnating water post reminds me of earlier posts again. There have been discussions that someone(can't remember who right now) was using a swimming pool for water as the well would get dry durring the summer and that was how the family stored their water. I will go search for the discussions.

Baum case has budget impacts
Tuesday, January 12, 2010 11:09 AM PST
<snipped>
Despite tighter-than-ever budgets, officials at the city and county are staying focused on finding her and aren’t looking only at the bottom line.

“We just concentrate on what we have to do and not the dollar figure,” said George Crumb, the chief of police in McCleary.

To keep costs down, Scott said staff adjusted their days off and overtime and asked the other agencies like the city of McCleary and the FBI to help out whenever possible.

Despite the ratcheted down efforts today compared to last summer, costs for the case will rise again soon. Scott said the FBI team will be focusing on the case over the next couple of months, which will require more officers for that period of time to follow up on leads, in addition to the two detectives currently working the case full-time.

Unexpected costs also came from vehicle fuel and maintenance from officers’ extra time in patrol cars and from printing up fliers to blanket the county.

“That was quite a challenge to keep the fliers going,” Crumb said. “It was just one expense that hit the city.”

For next year, despite knowing Baum is still not found, overtime has been budgeted again at $35,000.

The slower pace of the investigation has taken some budget pressure off, the chief said. “It’s still ongoing, but it’s definitely downsized.”

Conference targets trafficking in humans
Oregon Sen. Wyden, mother of missing girl to appear at event
Friday, January 8, 2010
<snipped>
“McLeary is a very small town, they have had extensive searches — and nothing has come up,” said Michelle Bart of Vancouver, a publicist and a co-chairwoman of the annual conference, hosted by Soroptimist International Northwestern Region and other agencies and businesses.

Lindsey’s mother, Melissa Baum, who believes her daughter is still alive, will attend the conference and staff a booth for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

It’s possible Lindsey may have been trafficked, Bart said.

“Many of the hundreds of thousands of trafficked victims are also victims of kidnapping and abductions,” Bart said. “Having the families at events like this will help keep their loved ones’ faces and cases visible.”

She added: “There’s always hope and help. No parent should ever give up hope that their child may still be alive, until you prove it otherwise.”

Leavitt to attend
The conference, called “Looking Beneath the Surface,” runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Red Lion Hotel on the River, 909 N. Hayden Island Drive, Portland, just south of the Interstate 5 Bridge.

Hellu Tuba,
There is much discussion on the main forum about child trafficing and some seem to believe it possible Lindsey is a victim of such a crime. Im sure you've read about Lindsey being listed on interpol. My question to you is, when reading an event chart such as the charts done for Lindsey's disappearance, does the death part always indicate a physical death, or is it also possible that death represents change as it sometimes does in tarot?
It seems the charts have indicated a violent sexual death, but could it mean instead that Lindsey's suffered a violent loss(death) of her sexual innocence?
I remember the chart that indicated more than one location has been a part of the crime, could Lindsey be being moved around alive in one of the the child trafficing rings?
Thanks

That is a very good question I too would like to know the answer to that. Maybe the death of innocents.

Volunteers are holding a candlelight vigil for Lindsey Baum Saturday night at Olympia's Heritage Park.

Police has asked the public for help, but no one has come forward with anything that might lead them to her.

The vigil begins at 6 p.m. Organizers expect it to last one hour. Attendees are encouraged to bring candles.

Vigil tonight for missing McCleary girl

Friends, family and supporters of a missing McCleary girl will gather tonight for a candlelight vigil in Olympia.

“This candlelight vigil will mark seven months since the abduction of Lindsey Baum took place and will serve to remind us to never forget and never stop looking,” organizers said in a statement. “We ask for your attendance to let the world know that the search still goes on and that we have not and will not forget our Lindsey.”

Lindsey, then 10, vanished June 26 as she walked home from a friend’s house. She’s not been seen since.

Missing McCleary girl's supporters: 'Just bring her back'
Story Published: Jan 23, 2010 at 6:49 PM PST

Seven months after 10-year-old Lindsey Baum disappeared in the small town of McCleary, her supporters staged a candlelight vigil for her Saturday in the state Capitol.

They're hoping to get the Legislature interested in helping out in the search for the little girl.

Now her mother and an ardent group of volunteers have brought their plea for help to Olympia's Heritage Park, just in the shadow of the state Capitol building.

The candlelight vigil is an attempt to keep the search for Lindsey alive, to offer renewed faith that she will be found - and to keep the missing girl in the news so she won't become a cold case.

Lindsey's mother is now hoping that a government-sponsored increase in the reward fund will stimulate someone to talk.

"California is going bankrupt, and Arnold Schwarzenegger donated $40,000 to Amber Dubois' reward fund - so her reward fund is up to $100,000, and Lindsey's is at $10,000," says Melissa Baum.

"And you know - somebody out there knows something, and if their morals and their hearts won't make them come forward - maybe money will."

Schwarzenegger's offer for Amber Dubois was $40,000 in state funds - the remaining $60,000 was raised by the California girl's family.

Law enforcement has traditionally said that high rewards have caused people to talk in the past.

Supporters of Lindsey Baum hold a vigil for her Saturday in the state capitol.

Reward Increased For Missing McCleary Girl
Posted: 11:39 am PST January 27, 2010
Updated: 6:21 pm PST January 27, 2010
<snipped>
The reward for a girl missing from McCleary, Lindsey Baum, has doubled as police plan to restart their investigation.

With no sign of Baum for seven months, McCleary police announced Wednesday that reward posters with the new amount of $20,000 will be put up and new investigators will be brought in to look at the case.

Action for new investigators came after police met with a reviewing agency who looked over their investigation and offered feedback. Police also said they plan to start over again with the help of the FBI and will re-interview those who they’ve already spoken to.

Not only will people be re-interviewed, but investigators are warning McCleary residents that more searches are coming.

“There's going to be a significant increase in activity in and around McCleary," said Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott.

The FBI is also bringing in their child abduction rapid deployment team, a group of experts from around the country with a reputation for solving mysteries like this one.

"The child abduction rapid deployment teams have a pretty good track record, both recovery and finding victims alive. And of course that's what we're looking for here,” said special FBI agent Ron Twerski.

Reward increased in search for missing McCleary girl

The reward for a missing girl from McCleary, Lindsey Baum, has been increased as police plan to restart their investigation.

McCleary police said Wednesday that the reward has been increased from $10,000 to $20,000.

Police also met with a reviewing agency that looked over their investigation so far. Police said they plan to start the process over again and will re-interview those who they’ve already spoken to.

In an effort to find out what happened to their daughter, Lindsey's family created two Web sites: lindseybaum.com and findlindseybaum.com. Both sites have photos of Lindsey and links to detectives working the case.

FBI ramping up search for missing McCleary girl
Story Published: Jan 27, 2010 at 11:20 AM PST
Story Updated: Jan 27, 2010 at 4:44 PM PST
<snipped>
Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott on Wednesday said a reward of $20,000 is available for anyone who helps find Lindsey Baum, who vanished June 26 after leaving a friend's house to walk home.

"I want to reinforce to the community that we're not going anywhere," Scott said. "This case is a long ways from being at a dead end. We have continued to make this case a priority."

The new money, which ups the reward from the previous offer of $10,000, is being provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Scott said.

FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Ron Twersky said a new group of investigators has been looking at the case to provide an outside review and offer suggestions on how to re-start the search for Lindsey.

"Because Lindsey's missing, we felt it was right to take a 'fresh eyes' approach and simply look at what's been done," Twersky said.

"The work has been extensive, but we just need that break. We know that break is out there, and so that's what this review and this effort is all about."

Twersky said agents will be going over old ground, searching many of the areas they looked at before and talking with many of the people who have already been interviewed.

The FBI will also be employing several new tactics, Twersky said, but he would not detail what those efforts would entail.

Lindsey's mom, meanwhile, is not giving up.

"Lindsey if you can hear me, I love you and I'm not going to stop looking for you, I swear," she said. "I will bring you home."

The Gray's Harbor County Sheriff's Office says there are no new breaks in the case but they hope increasing the reward may bring more tips.

At a press conference Wednesday, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Ron Twersky of the FBI said the Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team will get a "fresh eyes look" at the investigation and will make recommendations for how the investigation should proceed.

Baum's mother asked anyone with information to come forward.

"Our world is standing still," said Melissa Baum. "It's hard to stand here and watch the entire world keep going on because our lives aren't moving. We're just frozen in time, waiting for her to come home. So if you know anything please just come forward with a little bit of information because that's what it would take to bring her home is the smallest little tip."

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said the FBI has upped the reward from $10,000 to $20,000. Scott added that investigators wanted to announce to residents that they are going to be ramping up the police presence in McCleary in the coming weeks as they reinvestigate and recanvass the area.

Scott said some of the police work might seem redundant to residents, as they see "an increase in police activity in and around McCleary."

"We want everyone to know that this hasn't gone away and we haven't given up our efforts," Scott added.

Police refocus on missing girl's case

Investigators are re-doubling their efforts and throwing thousands of dollars at the public in hopes of finding a missing McLeary girl.

On Wednesday Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said his office the will be looking at every piece of evidence again to see if there's anything they missed in the case of Lindsey Baum who has been missing since June of 2009.

Scott said the FBI conducted a third-party review of the investigation which will lead to an "increase in activity" in regards to the case.

Investigators pledge new activity
Thursday, January 28, 2010 11:36 AM PST
<snipped>
Local law enforcement agencies united publicly Wednesday to announce a redoubling of efforts to find missing 11-year-old Lindsey Baum as the search enters its eighth month.

TV news crews filled a small room in McCleary City Hall on Wednesday morning as Scott described a recent “third-party” review of the case from federal agents who specialize in child abductions. Many investigators may ask to question McCleary residents again in an attempt to spark fresh leads.

“It’s going to appear somewhat redundant,” Scott said, “(but) there’s a reason for it.”

Ron Twersky, assistant special agent in charge from the Seattle office, explained the FBI has tapped into its Child Abduction Rapid Deployment specialists to review how the investigation has been conducted. They hope to uncover the key to Lindsey’s disappearance. “We need that break,” he said. “We know that break is out there.”[

When a child goes missing, the investigation starts with a “flood” of activity and information, he said. The specialists plan to offer suggestions for rechecking some aspects or approaching evidence differently.

“The process is already under way,” Twersky said. “There will be additional activity. ... I wouldn’t want to get into the specifics.”

Twersky said the specialists bring “fresh eyes” to an investigation that local authorities have labored over for months. The abduction teams have a “good recover record” and Twersky said he remains hopeful Lindsey will return home.

Last year. we experienced the major conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune, in effect for prolonged periods. In cases where that conjunction was integral to the crime, we should see progress now. The pairing of Jupiter and Neptune occurred in Aquarius and now the Sun is moving through that Sign. The middle week of February, the Sun will reach the pertinent degrees.

Lindsey Baum's disappearance is one of those cases because Jupiter & Neptune were rising in the First Quadrant of the event horoscope. Under the chart, I wrote that her experience was "weird and outrageous" due to them, especially since they were afflicted by Venus & Mars in Taurus that night.

This coming Friday & Saturday, February 5 and 6, we have a slight assist in the investigation from the Sun's trine to Mercury of the walking child.

The nature of Jupiter conjunct Neptune, particularly when afflicted, is to fool us. Therefore, it is necessary to open our minds to even broader possibilities regarding what happened on June 26, 2009.

Time to focus on Lindsey! For so much going on locally the thread remains so silent. Are we the public closer to knowing just why there seems to be so much resistance in town? I remember that question and thought when it was presented "if" only we had the answer. Not much seems to have changed since then. I know many are sluething different angles but I'm not hearing what some might consider in sluething as a weird & outrageous experience. Many forms of what she may have experienced have been discussed but it seems to be along the lines of abduction, rape and possible murder or transfer for trafficking. I have often wondered if some of the children/teens/adults, took the Twilight sagas too seriously & someone used Lindsey's love for the series to manipulate her. Lots of thinking about Lindsey can take one to some dark ugly places. Through my researching I have connected more than 3 who are into the occult & paranormal that Lindsey may have been around. Could this be the outrageous that surrounded Lindsey that night? My astro notes from when I started seem to reference "occult" associated with the guilty along with fire and water. Its been awhile since I'v looked at them and posted here. I just couldn't stand having everything go dormant. Looking forward to hearing I can write the occult off! It's been nagging at me for a couple of months.

What is weird & outrageous to a child Lindsey's age is different from what might be classed that way by us. Goths and disaffected teenagers, for example, were types she already knew. To a ten year old girl, the identity of her attacker might deeply shock her, someone she would never have believed that of. Also the specifics of the manner of attack could seem outrageous. The people you mention who are sleuthing are a couple of levels of abstraction above such details and particulars when they think and talk about trafficking, rape, murder, abduction.

This is good news at least for me. As I stated one of my fears stemmed from the knowledge of knowing adults involved in group activities of alternate belief systems live in and around McCleary. This form of grouping is nothing new to our state and is becomming popular as time goes on. I will gratefully peel this layer away! When I do homework on a current case I find it necessary to understand the reason why things are as they are. The body of ideas worked out helps to provide me with an adequate means of achieving some form of understanding to reduce details so I can focus on a few concepts at a time. The goal always is to find Lindsey and bring her home. Eye opener to realize the crime and perp outrageous, cruel, horrific injustice should be seen through a childs eyes & mind, specifically Lindsey's and not an adults. Thank you once again. Off to rewind, erase, to listen, read, and investigate with a more keep it simple attitude as I had in the beginning. When I think of Lindsey walking off kk's porch I invision one of those police academy test where they take the student LE & put him on a walk, as good guy/bad guy props pop up and the agent has to know when to shoot that bullet. Bless her heart for not being able to tell the difference. Sluething sufferjets is what we have become, minus the militant. The social issues in the town of McCleary are vast but may not have any bareing on Lindsey's case.

Thought process

In philosophical terminology, abstraction is the thought process wherein ideas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abstraction#cite_note-2)are distanced from objects (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Object_%28philosophy%29). Abstraction uses a strategy of simplification, wherein formerly concrete details are left ambiguous, vague, or undefined.

Thank you Tuba, I was unsure how to interpret your last sentence, so I looked up abstraction. If I am off the mark on the use of the word as you intended please correct me.

In sleuthing the who, what and how of Lindsey's disappearance how can we better direct our sleuthing efforts? I haven't posted recently, but I still think about this case daily. The list of POI's seems endless and many, when looked at within the context of what we know of the case, could fit as the perp. Are we overlooking something the charts are telling us?

OK, so something like human trafficking is "too abstract." For me that means: "too removed" from the immediate or familiar.
--------------------------

Fooled--never thought that person could do that--outrageous to her? For me those descriptors point to: a wolf in sheep's clothing. And that we have been discussing from the beginning.

Have you ever been acquainted with someone who exhibited every sign of being a good, kind person, then when they got you alone, suddenly became a horrible monster? I had that experience and I think sometimes that I might not have survived the situation. It is such a shock (outrageous) your brain is trying to process it, and can't right away--psychologically renders you incapable of acting defensively.
--------------------------
Or, do I have it wrong?

Yes I have been in that situation and honestly I still am the problem is the wolf in sheeps clothing is my BFF husband who is also the pastor of a local church, and its hard especially when you can't say anything for fear that no one will believe you. I wonder if this is what happened with Lindsey, I recall in her myspace status her stating she had a feeling something bad was going to happen. I wonder if she could have been living this. I am an adult and its difficult for me to live with I couldn't imagine a child.

Butterfly,
Im not sure what you are trying to tell us in your post but it seems like your saying you are in a situation that is unsafe, or unhappy, or forced to keep secrets. I encourage you to carefully consider what is the cost to self you are paying by staying in this marriage. I also encourage you to find the strength to face whatever it is that makes you stay and form a plan to leave, or if your able to repair the problem no matter what others may or may not believe, you know your personal truths. I hope that you will trust in God to guide you in your decision. Good luck and hugs, I hope you will someday be the butterfly you have chosen as your name.

8-year-old boy finds human remains near Cowlitz River

An 8-year-old boy came upon human remains while playing in a brushy area near the Cowlitz River on Thursday afternoon.

Now investigators are trying to determine who the person is and how the remains got there.

The grisly discovery was made around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Cougar Lane, Lewis County sheriff's deputies said.

There are several missing women and children in southwest Washington, and many people are asking if these remains could be connected to any of those cases - particularly the missing McCleary girl, Lindsey Baum.

But so far, authorities don't see a connection between these remains and Baum or any of those cases.

"This does not appear to be Lindsey Baum. No, this is not a child," says Stacy Brown of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say the bones are likely those of a man - but at this time, no one is certain.

Police investigate the site where human remains were found near the Cowlitz River at Toledo, Wash.

8-year-old boy finds human remains in rural Washington

An 8-year-old boy out playing Thursday in rural Lewis County discovered skeletal remains.

Seattle's KOMO-TV has the story:

Aerial footage of the scene captured by KOMO News' Air 4 shows detectives combing the area with cadaver dogs. A search team also can be seen forming up near the rural site.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said authorities do not have any indication that the remains might belong to Lindsey Baum, the young girl who disappeared June 26 in the small town of McCleary, about 50 miles away.

Am wondering if this is Nancy Moyer, missing since 3/8/09. Last seen leaving her job in Olympia. She lived in Tenino.

I don't know if her case has been talked about much, I only know about it because my daughter moved to the area and I'm a paranoid mom ;-)

Mom Searching For Missing McCleary Daughter Ordered To Pay Back Unemployment
Posted: 6:25 pm PST February 22, 2010
Updated: 6:52 pm PST February 22, 2010
<snipped>
Melissa Baum took three months unpaid leave from her job as a call center operator and then filed for unemployment when her employer said she could not return to work part-time.

Baum left her job so she could assist in the search for her daughter, Lindsey, who has been missing from McCleary since June 26. “We discussed it when I did my initial interview for unemployment. They all knew what was going on, they approved me, I started getting unemployment,” Baum said.

The checks came for five weeks then just before Christmas the state said she was ineligible and asked her to send a $1,000 back. “I paid into unemployment, I earned the unemployment and now they're saying I can't have it,” Baum said.

Baum and her 13-year-old son just moved to the town of Rainier to live with relatives. She said she can no longer afford the rent for the house in McCleary where she knows her missing daughter is trying to get home to. “It's very hard, extremely, and I put it off as long as I possibly could. I don't want to do it, but I don't have a choice,” Baum said.

She said she also doesn’t have the $1,000 the state of Washington is demanding her to pay back from unemployment benefits. “It's just one more battle that I just don't have the time or energy to fight.” Baum said.

Mother of missing McCleary girl facing money troubles

Melissa says after several months of unpaid leave, her request to return to work part time was denied. So she says she filed for and received unemployment for about five weeks, until she got a notice. "I received $1,125. And they want $1,000 of it back," she said.

Melissa says she just doesn't have the money right now. In fact, she can no longer pay the rent at the McCleary house she hopes Lindsey will return to one day. So she and her son recently moved in with relatives.

She says she still can't return to work full time since she's committed to finding Lindsey, and her son, who has Asberger's syndrome, continues to struggle with his sister's disappearance. "I didn't quit working because I wanted a vacation," said Melissa.

The spokesperson for the state's employment security department say confidentiality laws prevent them from commenting on this or any other case, but Melissa says the system just isn't designed to help parents whose children are missing. "It's a situation that I have no control over. But at the same time, it's not something they have precedence for. They have to go by the laws," she said.

Yes Tuba I know as you know my  I have felt that since Dec. authorities of all kinds have been applying pressure on the mother. It hasn't appeared that LE, the mother have any love lost. This is what has given me the ongoing red flags. The blatant form of ill manners radiating off the last pressor by LE (IMO) towards the mother reminded me of a Scott Peterson moment. Something seemed vacant in the mother. Which could mean so many things related to the good bad & the ugly of the case. Maybe the act of search by LE was to cross the mother off a list as they go to all homes on their list. Maybe it is to apply pressure forcing someone else to come forward. Maybe hazmet suits and all it is nothing alarmig and just routine. That darn speculation just gets in the way! LOL! Could a timed chart for the search be done?
Why is my heart telling me different everytime I try to be mainstream in my thoughts concerninnng this case? Better leave this question for the psychiatrist!LOL! Thanks Tuba something needed to happen in this case or it wouldn't be happenning. I wonder if this was a surprise visit?

FBI Searches Home Of Missing McCleary Girl Before Family Moves

The FBI is searching the home of a missing McCleary girl one last time before her family moves out.

Lindsey Baum’s family is moving to Rainier and Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said it’s the last chance to obtain samples of the old house before someone new moves in.

Scott said Friday's search was planned and is part of the FBI's review of the county's investigation.

Investigators are taking samples of carpet and other items inside the home to put into an evidence library in case they are ever needed for comparison. They are also doing a final search of Lindsey’s room which hasn’t been touched since she vanished, Scott said.

Samples are also being collected from Melissa Baum’s car, Lindsey’s mother, for possible future use.

Scott said the search and collecting samples are routine and that there are no new tips or information in the case.

Lindsey's family has two Web sites with information: http://lindseybaum.com/ and http://findlindseybaum.com/.

FBI conducts new search at Lindsey Baum home
Story Published: Feb 26, 2010 at 3:27 PM PST
Story Updated: Feb 26, 2010 at 6:48 PM PST
<snipped>
There is no new evidence or new tips that brought the FBI to the home where Lindsey was living before her nationally publicized disappearance last June. Rather, investigators want to take a last chance to gather material from the home before Lindsey's mother, Melissa Baum, moves out of McCleary for good.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said Lindsey's room has been preserved untouched in the home since the evening of June 26, when she vanished while walking home from a friend's home. Now that Lindsey's mother is moving in with relatives in Thurston County, investigators want to take this last opportunity to gather fibers, hair samples and other evidence from the home.

"An outside review of the investigation into the disappearance suggested another review of the home be made by CSI specialists, and the FBI team was available today," Undersheriff Scott told KOMO News.

He said the home has been searched at least three times before. This time, forensics experts will be taking samples of carpet, furniture, hair strands, materials in the family car and anything else that might help them if that type of evidence is ever needed.

"In the sad eventuality that her remains were found, detectives would have controlled samples to eliminate any trace evidence which might have come from the home rather than from any other source," Scott said.

Scott said there are no suspects at this time, and nothing should be read into Friday's search other than that the landlord may want to recarpet and repaint and make other changes to the house when Lindsey's mother moves. So this is investigators' last chance to conduct a search before the home is refurbished.

FBI searches home of missing McCleary girl

FBI agents on Friday searched the home of Lindsey Baum, the 11-year-old girl who has been missing since June 2009, according to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said area residents were told recently that they would see an increase in activity and searching of additional sites.

Friday's search was not the result of a search warrant. The sheriff's office says Lindsey's mother, Melissa, allowed the agents to come inside. An evidence detection team showed up to give the house one last look to make sure nothing was missed.

The Baum family had been renting the home, but just moved out.

Feds conduct search of Baum home
Saturday, February 27, 2010 1:38 PM PST
<snipped>
On the eight-month anniversary of Lindsey’s disappearance, Undersheriff Rick Scott said FBI investigators and crime scene analysts made one last sweep through the house for evidence and DNA samples. “I wanted to make sure we looked at it one more time,” Scott said.

Investigators blocked off Mommsen Road in front of the Baum home and loaded evidence into a trailer. Some donned white jumpsuits complete with boots, gloves and hoods to prevent the corruption of any evidence. “They don’t want to cross contaminate the scene,” Scott said.

After several months of searching, detectives recently requested a third-party review of the investigation by child abduction experts with the FBI. Investigators have searched the house thoroughly on multiple occasions, Scott said, but making one last search of the house for “control samples” of DNA and other evidence was part of the review. “It was one of the many things that was recommended we do,” he said.

Scott said Lindsey’s mother, Melissa Baum, is in the process of moving in with relatives in Thurston County. Melissa Baum told KIRO 7 News she had not been able to return to work part-time since Lindsey’s disappearance and had lost her unemployment benefits. Investigators asked Melissa Baum to hold off on packing some things until they could make a final search, Scott said. They also asked her to let them search her car.

Scott said investigators are also preparing to act on the other recommendations they received from the review. Neighboring law enforcement agencies will be sending officers to help with the new “push” for information.

Forensic investigators loaded potential evidence into a trailer during a final search of missing Lindsey Baum's home in McCleary. Investigator wore jumpsuits to prevent contaminating any evidence as they collected DNA samples and any remaining evidence before Lindsey's mother, Melissa Baum, packs to stay with family in Thurston County.

Federal and local authorities launched a new push for clues in the disappearance of 11-year-old Lindsey Baum on Monday as teams of investigators returned to the McCleary street where she was last seen.

Like door-to-door salesmen in blue windbreakers, FBI agents and local officers spent the day systematically knocking on the doors along Maple Street, greeting many residents with questions that had been asked before.

Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said detectives and federal agents intend to re-question many people along the neighborhood street as part of a larger review of the investigation.

By 1:38 p.m., reporters had filed the story of the house search, February 27. I have failed in my efforts to locate a time the search began. Some neighbors know and some concerned people will know and the time will eventually be provided, I hope. It was a pregnant day, approaching the full of the Moon and Mercury was conjunct Neptune, opposed by a late Leo Moon. Someone was confused and deluded but we cannot identify the party as we have no wheel of Houses. It could very well be the neighbors who are making faulty assumptions! The Full Moon, nonetheless, will shed light in a few hours on the evidence collected inside. What was found & analysed may not be shared, however.

Nine months have passed since, but investigators are no closer to solving this case than the day the girl disappeared.

So they're starting over.

"If it was my kid, or someone I knew, then I would want them doing this," said Terran Sisk, an area resident.

The FBI is putting its best resources into the Baum case. The agency moved in a high-tech command center to coordinate efforts, and has profilers and psychologists analyzing evidence.

Teams of two are going out to re-interview neighbors, and comb through what's already been collected.

"We're not plowing any new ground, but we're re-plowing a lot of old ground to see if there's some nugget of information there that we might have missed," said Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott.

Investigators say they'll keep searching for another eight to 12 days, but they say they'll never rest until the Baum family learn the truth in their daughter's disappearance.

The FBI brought in profilers, psychologists, computer technicians and many others to work on the case, Scott said. They also provided a mobile command center to serve as a clearinghouse for any information collected. “There’s a lot of resources the FBI can bring to the table,” he said.

Some residents invited investigators inside. Others hung in the doorways to ask questions, the sessions lasting minutes or hours.

Federal and local authorities continue to canvass the city for clues, Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said.

He said investigators are conducting much more thorough interviews of residents along the Maple Street area where the 11-year-old girl went missing. The interviews are part of third-party recommendations from FBI experts on the Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team.

Investigators have taken hours to question some residents, Scott said, allowing those people to elaborate on details they might have left out of earlier interviews.

“We’re getting a lot of information,” he said. He later added, “It’s starting to paint a better picture.” :waitasec:

No break-through evidence has yet surfaced in the renewed questioning of McCleary residents, but investigators believe they are collecting valuable details about the day Lindsey Baum disappeared.

Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said federal and local authorities continue to canvas the city for clues, asking residents extensive questions to recreate the rural town on the evening of June 26, 2009. “This was a major event in this community,” he said. “People have a pretty good recollection of where they were and what they were doing (that day).”

Scott said investigators are conducting much more thorough interviews of residents along the Maple Street area where the 11-year-old girl went missing. The interviews are part of third-party recommendations from FBI experts on the Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team. “What we’re focusing on here is being thorough, not quick,” he said. “We’re not trying to see who can canvas the most houses the quickest.”

The federal child abduction team has offered recommendations for new approaches to the case and is reviewing information culled from the new interviews, Scott said. They have been pleased with the feedback. “I think things are progressing quite well,” he said. “This is consistent with their past efforts and this is consistent with their past successes.”

Montesano Deputy Police Chief Brett Vance searched a metal shed and trash cans in a McCleary backyard Monday as FBI agents and local departments questioned residents along Maple Street as part of an intensified effort to re-interview people and retrace their steps in the search for 11-year-old Lindsey Baum.

It could not be more fitting that the search began first thing in the morning of February 26th. With Cardinal Signs on all the angles (ASC, H. 4, 7 and 10), any action starts "first thing". Matters always develop with immediacy due to these Cardinal Sign placements. There is a powerful push forward. It is important to note that the Trine of the Chart or big triangle from Houses 1, 6 and 10, falls out at the Sixth House Cusp where we find Fire, instead of the Earth of the Midheaven and the Ascendant. Matters there are awry and we already know a disservice is being performed (see opening sentences under chart).

The Moon in Leo is acting under conferred authority and is uneasy and insecure. She is moving toward Virgo, where she will become full but her degree, 9°, is low so she is unsettled in her transition to another community a goodish distance away. Since she is six Houses after the one holding our Sun, she upsets all 12th H. matters and this event of the search itself as an unfavorable development occurs that will ricochet and upset the situation. We may or may not hear about this.

New Search For Clues In McCleary Girl's Disappearance

Volunteers and police searched again over the weekend for any clue that would lead to Lindsey Baum, the 11-year-old girl who vanished last summer.

Pairs of federal and local investigators spread across McCleary on Sunday, canvassing neighborhoods and interviewing neighbors. "We are continuing to be as comprehensive as we can, but the focus this time is not haste, it's thoroughness," said Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott.

Sunday was especially difficult for Lindsey's mother, Melissa Baum. She had to move out of her house because she lost her job and can't afford it any more. Baum said because Lindsey is still missing, she didn't want to go back to work full time.

Grays Harbor County Sheriff's officials and the FBI have increased the reward for information that helps them solve the case of the disappearance of Lindsey Baum from $10,000 to $20,000.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said Wednesday that investigators plan to ramp up the police presence in McCleary in the coming weeks as they reinvestigate and re-canvass the area.

UPDATED: Renewed effort in search for girl
Missing since June 26: News about abductee’s return after 18 years draws people to help find Lindsey

Teams of volunteers inspected roadsides, wooded areas and creeks Saturday as part of the ongoing effort to find Lindsey Baum, the 11-year-old McCleary girl who disappeared the evening of June 26. Saturday was the second consecutive day in which volunteers fanned out into outlying areas and neighboring towns, hoping to find clues. The search continues today.

At the request of Lindsey’s mother, Melissa, two nonprofit groups – the Laura Recovery Center of Friendswood, Texas, and Klaaskids Foundation of Sausalito, Calif. – organized the search. Both groups have been involved in high-profile missing-child cases before, including the disappearances of Elizabeth Smart of Utah and Elaine Sepulveda of Oak Harbor.

About 120 people searched Friday, and about 40 people had taken part before noon Saturday, said Brad Dennis, director of search operations for the Klaaskids Foundation. The search is being staged from the McCleary Community Center, and although organizers have enough volunteers to handle administrative duties, they need more searchers, Dennis said. “We need people to come out and be a part of this,” he said.

Volunteers who showed up Saturday were separated into groups. Team leaders were selected and groups were given directions on how and where to search. The team leaders also were provided with global positioning systems to note the locations of their searches, as well as clipboards with paper so they could jot down possible clues.

Patty Thorsen and Judy Enz of Olympia, plus team leader Mike Davis of Gig Harbor, spent about an hour exploring Niels Lane, a rock-covered road that overlooks state Route 8 about 4 miles west of McCleary. All three decided to volunteer because they are parents, but Thorsen and Davis also were moved by Melissa Baum’s story after hearing her interviewed on a Seattle radio station. Mike said the combination of listening to Melissa Baum and hearing news about Jaycee Dugard, the California woman recently discovered after she was missing for 18 years, prompted him to act.

“I said, ‘Well, I can give up a Saturday,’” he said. Davis, too, has five children, including three girls. All three got into his truck, drove to the end of the road and then worked their way back, stopping frequently to look down hillsides, peer into the woods and inspect roadside debris. The three also discovered a black garbage bag filled with clothes, including a pair of denim jeans, the same kind of clothes Lindsey last was seen wearing. After that discovery, it was determined that the clothes and trash likely belonged to a transient and not Lindsey, although Dennis praised the group’s efforts in finding the bag.

Davis marked the site with orange fabric so investigators could inspect the site. Once volunteers return to the community center, they are debriefed and their information is shared with law enforcement, Dennis said.

Julie Newell of McCleary finds a pair of tattered denim jeans Saturday as she searches timberland north of McCleary for clues in the disappearance of 11-year-old Lindsey Baum. Organizers were asking more people to turn out today to help with the search.

Officials continue push for new leads
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 2:11 PM PST
<snipped>
Local and federal investigators plan to continue their push for new information into next week as they work on leads arising from recent interviews in the search for missing Lindsey Baum.

Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said detectives and FBI agents have received huge amounts of information from McCleary residents as they work to create a “snapshot” of the rural town on the summer evening Lindsey disappeared. “All of that’s helping us to more thoroughly investigate leads,” he said. “The focus of the case is much clearer.”

After a week of questioning residents, Scott said he hopes to keep extra officers from other regional departments around until next week to continue the recent drive for new evidence. He said deputies and FBI agents may conduct follow-up interviews beyond next week as information surfaces. “It’s not like we’re going to just put the lid back on the box,” he said. “I don’t want to shut the stove off when we’ve got something cooking.”

Scott said detectives are also asking residents about their theories on the case or rumors floating around the community. “Now they’ve had a chance to think about it,” he said, later adding, “Everybody’s had a chance to play armchair investigator here. ... Some of (the ideas) seem plausible.”

As details come in, Scott said he and others felt the interviews were developing into new leads similar to other child abduction cases that were solved. Scott said he hopes and prays they can make a breakthrough in locating Lindsey. “We are definitely making progress,” he said.

This last article sounds very encouraging Angel.... the statement “I don’t want to shut the stove off when we’ve got something cooking.” is very telling to me, sounds like they got some good leads and believe its going to go somewhere.... I hope so, she is such a beautiful girl, and she needs to come home.

Special FBI Team Joins Hunt for Missing Girl
High-Tech Tools Join Old-Fashioned Police Work in Search for Lindsey Baum, 11
March 16, 2010
<snipped>
Last month, ABC News accompanied local police and members of the FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment (CARD) team as they worked on the case.

The task force questioned two-thirds of the town's residents. They also set up a massive command post with state-of-the-art equipment capable of tracking down leads around the country. An FBI computer database tracked leads as they came in and identified sex offenders who may have been in the area at the time of Lindsey's disappearance.

"Thousands of children go missing every year," said Kevin Perkins, assistant director of the FBI's criminal investigation division. "Many of them are runaways in family issues. But there's between 100 and 200 cases a year where it is a stranger abduction. These are very, very serious crimes that the FBI places a high priority on. There's no greater crisis in a community, and I can't imagine a greater crisis for either a parent or a community, then to have a child go missing."

The questions for the local police and FBI's CARD team: Was it an abduction? Or was it an accident? Where could Lindsay be now? The model allowed the FBI to identify twelve new persons of interest in the case, inside and outside of McCleary, with at least two people of high interest.

'Every Place Possible'
The FBI brought in profilers to analyze the behavior of persons of interest and to help develop a sense of who the possible perpetrator might be. Profilers also studied Lindsey's behavior and personality for clues.

"FBI agents who work these child abduction cases on a full-time basis can come in and they can quickly discern from the behavior patterns of those associated with the case certain aspects of things," said Perkins. "They can look at the subjects that might have already been identified. They can look at registered sex offenders in the area to determine where were these people, what were they doing? There are certain techniques that you use in grid searches that make sure that you look every place possible that this child could be."

Drawing on interviews, cell phone data, ATM videos and surveillance cameras from the day of Lindsey's disappearance, the FBI built a model and timeline of the day Lindsey vanished.

Nightline's Daily Line: Where We Fit
Inside the Ongoing Search for Lindsey Baum
March 16, 2010 2:27 PM
<snipped>
Tonight, Pierre Thomas and producer Ted Gerstein will have an inside look at the investigation into the disappearance of Lindsey Baum, a 10-year-old girl from the small town of McCleary, Wash., missing since June 26, 2009.

We were given intimate access to some of the cutting-edge techniques used by local police and the FBI, which has now joined the case.

They include extensive interviewing -- two-third's of the townspeople -- sex offender database scrubs, the use of profilers, review of surveillance footage, and the creation of a massive command post -- all used to build a timeline of the day the child disappeared.

Lindsey's mother, Melissa Baum, is convinced her daughter was kidnapped and believes she is alive. Work by authorities has identified twelve persons of the interest -- in and out of McCleary -- with two of them of high interest.

A renewed investigative effort in the search for a 10-year-old girl who vanished last year has identified a dozen persons of interest, law enforcement sources told ABC News. Investigators from multiple agencies have spent months searching for the girl, and the FBI recently moved in a high-tech command center to coordinate efforts.

Agents with the CARD team have been checking hours of ATM security camera video taken from cash machines throughout McCleary and the surrounding area, looking for anything that seems out of place.

They have also been checking cell phone records to see who was in the area when Lindsey vanished. "We can start putting a timeline together," FBI Assistant Director Kevin Perkins told Nightline. "And we may see that call and a certain cell phone and, perhaps, our missing individual coming together at a certain place at a certain time."

The agency also has profilers and psychologists analyzing evidence. Detectives from the sheriff's department are working with the FBI to check new sites that might be connected to the case, and they're also re-searching sites checked previously. "We're looking for the whole picture, but there are sometimes when you get a gut reaction or gut feeling about a certain individual or their reaction to your questioning," sheriff's Det. Keith Peterson said. Investigators have talked with more than two-thirds of the town's population.

Sources tell ABC news that 12 people identified as persons of interest in the case live inside and outside of McCleary, and at least two of those people are considered "high interest" by investigators.

While an arrest may not be imminent, police say the case is active and they are hopeful.

Baum case to be featured on Nightline tonight
Tuesday, March 16, 2010 2:11 PM PDT

ABC News’ Nightline will feature a segment on tonight’s program exploring the recent FBI search in McCleary for missing Lindsey Baum.

Much of the segment will focus on the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team, which recently reviewed the 11-year-old’s case and helped with new interviews in the search.

Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said Nightline crews spent a few days in McCleary while federal and local authorities re-questioned many residents on the case two weeks ago.

Renewed search fruitful

Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said federal and local authorities collected vast amounts of anecdotal information during hundreds of interviews with residents, some of which identified the potential persons of interest.

“I’m not calling anybody a suspect,” he said.

Of the 12 or so people identified, Scott said two people were of “high interest.” Detectives will be closely examining their activity around the time that Baum disappeared on June 26.

Local authorities worked with the FBI in recent weeks to question McCleary residents living near where Baum went missing. The questions were suggested after a review of the investigation by experts with the FBI Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team.

“We’ve got a lot of stuff to look at,” Scott said.

Investigators were aware of many of the potential persons of interest, Scott said, but new information has sparked cause for additional scrutiny. He described them as a mix of local residents and others who may have been passing through the area in late June.

Scott said the results of the interviews were similar to other cases the FBI child abduction team has been able to solve. Local authorities are considering organizing a second push for information across a wider area.

“There was a lot of information,” he said. “It’s given birth to spin-off leads.”

Hi Astro's:

Police have released an uncut video of Lindsey yesterday and was wondering if with this release of new video whether any new info can come from it, maybe some sort of chart or something else that might give more clues. I know I am kind asking a lot especially when I know how you all are very busy on other missing cases. I am grasping for some hope and I hope you can help in some way.

In the Sunrise chart for Lindsey, we see a critical Sun at 15Cancer with her loving open nature potentially a Moon in Sagittatrius, sunny and bright, and a wonderful personality we see with her Cancer Sun always expressing itself.

The Quintile her Sun makes to Saturn might suggest that in this life, it will be one that she expresses in the higher creative way, because Saturn is about our lessons we take on, and the Quintile always about our creativity.
Not to suggest she wanted to go out this way, but her soul may have exited prior to the attack.

Jupiter in Pisces conjuncts the always critical fixed star “Scheat” is square her Moon and square to her Mars

This afflicted Jupiter, a planet we always hope is going to be our luck in life, is not only afflicted by the star it’s connected to but also for misfortune through the aspects it makes, for in Lindsey’s chart, Jupiter also is in semi-square to Uranus.

This suggests not only will there be great misfortune in her life (Scheat the fixed star)
But connected to her luck ( Jupiter afflicted) for bad luck, and also via an unexpected
(Uranian ) experience., totally “out of the blue” or Uranus event.

In summation, there was a pile-up of bad vibrations for this little girl, that meant her life would be cut short in this regard, even her Neptune conjunct Altair was doing her no favors, as it squares Saturn (that karmic planet) and squares Mercury meaning with Altair the Eagle, she was effervescent, just like the Video shows and really far too trusting with Neptune here., i.e. “no restraints and enthusiastic for life, as Altair suggests”. She is learning as a young soul to not make this mistake again.

I’m reminded in this case of Jesus words,.
To the effect, “it may be written that some misfortune can come into the life, but woe to
him by whose hand it comes” (not exact quote), but it says a lot.

Actually, it simply means, she didn’t have to die this way.

Yesterday, you wrote about Lindsey's birth promise and I wrote that the quarter Moon, )( to II would be helpful in solving some cases like Lindsey's. Yesterday, Mercury at crisis was on the Venus in End of Life at her disappearance. The lunar eclipse on 26 June will be even more helpful because the Sun of that eclipse conjoins her disappearance event chart Sun.

I want to thank LeoMoon80, tuba and the other astro's for their help with Lindsey's case. You all do a wonderful job. Tuba had mentioned the lunar eclipse that will be coming on June 26. That is the same day that Lindsey had disappeared a year prior. I find that kind of odd and powerful. I had also wondered with the all the planets that are lining up these next few months as well as this eclipse will this also cause increase of information coming out from June 22 and onward. Had read something about what some people call the cardinal climax, could this also happen with Lindsey case. I don't know much about forensic astrology, but do find itfacinating and interesting to say the least and am amazed how close you all are to the truth. Thank you all for the many hours you have devoted in helping the missing. T

We can count on the eclipse to trigger case action. 26 June in McCleary. Eclipses operate over a pool of time and have long lasting effect.

In August, there comes a Cardinal T-Square: Mars & Saturn opposite Jupiter & Uranus, with Pluto in Capricorn squaring both. Frankly, I dread it.

However, on the thread that I linked here for the astro's there has been some behind the scenes (so to speak) sleuthing of who this is and I believe his name may have been found BUT~ he can't be named on the thread because he hasn't been named by LE to the media.

After reading this article I had wondered with all that is known from Lindsey charts would it or could it be possible to pin point more or finer tuned the location where Lindsey might be found. I was wondering if one of the astro's is able to combine the information obtained via charts what is known and make a map similar to this. I realize there are many missing children and all of the astro's have been pretty busy doing many charts. I just wanted to let you all know, I do appreciate all the help that you have given to Lindsey as well as many of the other missing children. You all are amazing. Thank you for all your help.

Forensic Astrology - LINDSEY BAUM missing McCleary,WA 6/26/09 #1 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

There are many charts and Astro discussions about possible location(s) and directions.
It does appear she was moved though.

Very disappointing that the driver/owner of the white Honda Ridgeline truck and the man in the blue plaid shirt and baseball cap never came forward after being taped on the convenience-gas sta. surveillance video. Nor has anyone who knows these individuals. As investigators said, it is fortunate that the video exists (Jupiter conj. Neptune, mutual reception Uranus) and they do need help. The video was released in May of this year and we are now at the end of September.

National Organization Forms “The Hunt for Lindsey Baum”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am new to posting. Love all the work you all do here.

If at all possible please share with everyone you know and anyone in the local Washington area, CUE is looking to get the word out about this campaign! Is it possible to get this notice to all members or even those in the region? Hopefully this campaign will help regenerate the publics interest and lead to Lindsay's whereabouts. It has been to long! Thank You and God Bless. I will have the poster shortly and give a link to where the "missing" poster can be located to be printed and distributed.

National Organization Forms “The Hunt for Lindsey Baum”
“Family of Missing Child Lindsey Baum joins forces with the CUE Center for Missing Persons”

Wilmington, NC – The CUE Center for Missing Persons will launch a campaign geared toward hunters in the region where missing child, Lindsey Baum vanished from over a year ago; the objective is to involve the community of people who know the region and can eliminate space, in hope to bring Lindsey home. “I am so excited about this idea, it gives me hope and I believe in the hunters because they know every inch of the wilderness out there and I need more help to find my daughter”, said the mother of Lindsey, Melissa Baum.

The non profit, all volunteer group is asking for area hunters to adopt a piece of land and or property that they are familiar with or hunt on regularly to search for missing Lindsey Baum; registration will begin on January 10, 2011 and run throughout the month. Hunters may call in directly to the center at (910) 232-1687 anytime or visit CUE on the web at http://www.ncmissingpersons.org/ and click on “The Hunt” where they can enter and submit information; during the effort a map will go up coloring in areas that have been adopted. “We are also extending invitations to forestry and park personnel as well as land owners in the concerned areas of focus”, said CUE founder, Monica Caison.

Areas this effort will concentrate on will be the McCleary town itself and 15 miles radius of each direction leaving the place Lindsey was last seen. These areas consist of the following:
McCleary Focus Area
• North – The National Olympic Forest
• South – Malone-Porter
• South East – The Capitol Forest
• East – Shelton
• West – Elma & Grays Harbor County
